Great food and atmosphere for a Sunday brunch. All the items we had were great - lobster salad, duck, eggs. Just the service was slow, waitress couldn’t answer some basic questions and they didn’t clean dirty plates off the table. Still a great place and would go again.
Our best meal in New York!!!! So delicious!! Great atmosphere and wonderful service!! We will be back!!
Excellent, but too noisy at the pick lunch time
We had a great server!!
Simply delicious and addictive
La Goule is the sort of restaurant that reminds me of when New York was NEW YORK; excellent food, charming staff, lively and buzzy without being a scene.
It’s definitely worth it,
Food and service were great.
It was Horribly noisy with obnoxious people!
Wine list outstanding
Service was poor. The maître d hotel was arrogant and unpleasant, he forgot to bring us a glass of wine. The food was cold Very expensive for a service which was far below expectations. A place to avoid
IT WAS A BUSINESS LUNCH. The only issue was the noise level. Everything else was superb!
They got the order wrong and were rude about it. Never go there.
Lovely French Bistro. They were so inviting for our large group of 10 and we didn't want to leave!
Gracious welcome by the maitre’d and seated promptly. Our meals were delicious. The atmosphere was ruined by the “club” music playing in the background. It was inappropriate and loud. As it became more crowded yes heard staff finally saying turn it down. The service started out attentive but stumbled after that. We were left with the big wine book on a small table and no one came back to ask if we’d like to order a bottle. After flagging the waiter down, I asked of a bottle describing what we like he advised that it wouldn’t be as cool bodied as we might like. I then asked if there was something else in that price range and the reaction was so dismissive that I nearly told to take the wine least and go. From perusing the wine list I noted there were other choices in that price range. He ultimately recommended a wine that was $40 more and it was fine. I really did not appreciate the attitude.
there are so many fabulous restaurants in NYC. This is not one of them. It came highly recommended to me but did not at all live up to its standard. So disappointed and I come from a city of top notch food. Charleston,SC. Don't do it!! Look around and go elsewhere. I won't return for a second experience.
Was twice as embarrassing because I had a client with me. Otherwise I would have complained to management.
The re-born La Goulue is an improved version of the original....a neighborhood restaurant with the charm and finesse of the best in New York.
Hassan’s attention to details makes the package !
My favorite French restaurant in nyc!!!
Went here for a family dinner - a group of 12. A lovely evening and a big thank you to the staff!
The coq au vin was outstanding! They were out of the wine by glass I ordered which was disappointing but every si for other thing was great!
Would like if the chef could make 2 versions of the cheese soufflé. One with the truffles and one without. So many folks cannot eat truffles but we all love the soufflé.
good food, 2nd time there in a week. had to ask for water x2, no excuse for that as it wasnt that busy.
table next to us also had to ask for water. will try another french restaurant. had to get up & ask waiter to bring my glass of wine .
The food pacing was so fast it was like dining on a NY sidewalk. The food was delicious. When we commented to the manager on the fast pace of the service he was diffident and surly. So next time Le Bilboquet.
Delicious meal and great service !
Delicious food, good buzz and excellent service. Every table was booked. Host and management were very attentive. One of our party is a vegetarian and had no problem.
Service is not quite as professional as you might hope. Arrived to an empty restaurant and had to flag someone down to place a drink order. There seemed to be at least three people who would show up to take care of the table but none knew what had just transpired with another server just prior. Servers tend to cluster at the station or the bar to visit with each other when they would do better to tend patrons.
I love the space and think the food is good, I hope the service smooths out and they have a long run.
I really enjoyed my first visit here. The food was very good; the service was exceptional. The ambience really is of a relaxed, small French bistro. I highly recommend La Goulue.
Best French restaurant in NYC!
Great meal, delicious! Loved the tuna tartar, steak and souffle.
The service was pretty slow but the food was excellent.
Authentic French Bistro atmosphere! Excellent service, good food and you feel like you are in Paris.
The place is beautiful historic and fun . Food is good Soufflés are the special treat. Very professional staff
I can eat here everyday . Love it
Wonderful, intimate, classic French bistro with amazing food. Will definitely be back!
Everything was excellent except the waitress, who was SLOW. Our order was taken 20 minutes after we were seated, and after another table, whose guests arrived after we did, had ordered from her. We didn’t order our dessert until we had been there for 1 1/2 hours. Too long at lunch. Otherwise, though, no complaints at all.
The best soups!!! Love this place
Classic old school French bistro.
Had a delicious 4-coarse lunch at La Goulou and would happily go back any time. The ambiance and service matched the high quality of the food, and the location is perfect if you happen to be on the UES in NYC.
