This is our second visit t La Goulue and I recommended it to a friend after the first. It has a lovely atmosphere, very good service and delicious food. Also very relaxed, you don't feel like you are being rushed at all. Will definitely visit again, I hope.
Great food and unmatched atmosphere. A must go place whenever in the City
Some of the most amazing food ever. Truffle fries and the sole are unbelievable
A perfect old school French Bistro where everything is absolutely perfect!
There is just something special about La Goulue
Food people decor and ambiance
Classic, old-school French restaurant with class and charm. Revived from it's earlier days in 2 other legendary locations off Madison Ave. It lives up to the celebrated status it once had. Beautiful presentation; knowledgeable, hands-on staff; delicious food; wisely chosen specials. Wish there were more restaurants like this on the UES where tradition, taste, and sophistication (without haughtiness) meet eye to eye.
Incredible! I could have been in Paris! Steak Tartare and Foie gras were absolutely delectable. Just go!
The menu was very limited and the descriptions incomplete. The special was fish over sauted zucchini which I ordered but it came with eggplant and zucchini. I am allergic to eggplant and could taste it infused into my first bite of fish. I had to send it back and then order the steak with frites which was good but took a long time to come. My husband was almost finished with his meal before mine came. It would have been nice for them to rush my new order. I don't think I would go back.
It's in the neighborhood and we come all the time............most times for dinner, sometimes for lunch. We are delighted that La Goulue moved into our neighborhood
This place is an institution and a legend. There is no other place like that on the planet. Setting, service, food, wine list, crowd. All are exceptional.
Very good, authentic French in the best brasserie style; good wine list and polite, efficient, friendly service. La Goulue has always been a wonderful experience. . . in its old or new locale.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC!
The Tuna Tartare is exquisite!
Excellent food, great decor and ambiance, will be back!
Loved it. Reminiscent of a New York not easily accessible today!
Delicious! Great service.
What a great meal! The crab salad, duck and branzino were all excellent
A good meal but quite expensive for lunch. The service was good and the staff was accommodating.
Romantic with succulent tastes
So thrilled to be back at La Goulue in its new (to me) location! Same vibe, same food, same atmosphere - at perhaps an even better location. Loved it!
I love this place. Great hosts. Great wine selection. Need to go at least once a week!
Fashionable, people watching just like it was in the old location. Very good looking decor. Good menu. It makes no mistakes.
Appetizer and main course were both great, however, the cheese soufflé for dessert turned out to be much too salty.
It still has the magic!! Best soufflé in town! The service is impeccable and we had a lovely time! A great place to celebrate anything!! Merci
While the food was very good, the tables were all crowded together, the service was slow, and it was pretty noisy.
Excellent food and service. Seating is very cramped—-would be quite challenging for large people or disabled.
We shared a tuna tartare. My wife had Dover Sole and I the salmon. Both were excellent. Staff was happy and service was great. Will most certainly return. Go and enjoy!
Food already seems to be on the decline at this revival . Bread is terrible. Need to have a chicken option or more fish options. Would be great if they had a basic ,great steak...always (tres bistro, n' est pas).
ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THEY ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT.
I ADORE THE PLACE AND AM THRILLED THAT THEY RETURNED AND REMAIN ON THE NYC
PRETTY PEOPLE, GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! A DELIGHT
I have not had such a wonderful meal in ages. Everything and I mean everything was beyond perfect and I am a very critical customer. Service was exemplary, the white asparagus and the lobster club were two of the best dishes I have had in a long time. I went to the old restaurant for years and this is the third time here and the best yet. Loved the atmosphere and attention to every detail it was Old time excellent service with new up to date fabulous cuisine certainly a talent in the kitchen
It’s ok. But loud.
LA GOLUE IS BACK! always the best. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Standardized. Overpriced. Any number of bistro=type restaurant at half the prices would have been preferable. Not at all up to the old La Goalue. The crowd was well heeled and obviously undiscriminating. I don't think anyone ought to bother, unless your objective is to rub shoulders with the Upper East Side crowd.
The ambiance and especially the food are outstanding. For some reason, our waiters were inattentive. I don't know why and my back was to the room so couldn't see. Not the case other times I've been there. Wonderful food!
Wonderful French Bistro with terrific food. I particularly like the tuna tartare, cheese souffle and any of the fish entrees. Generally gets a great crowd. No attitude.
Wonderful food and service
It’s outstanding place, food and servers. Daoud it’s really good. In general all of them are good. Very professional. We invite some friends, one of them love steak tartare, and he told me it’s one of the best he had in nyc. White asparagus delicious and perfect cook .we have been going there since they open, still very, very good. They have specials everyday, and season dishes.
Cheese soufflé its amazing. My husband had the duck, crispy, nice portion. Wine list is fantastic. They make you home and friendship.
Always have the wine prepare before we arrived. And they make best bull shot.
Absolutely fabulous restaurant.
This is an old school restaurant with dark wood paneling and exclusively male staff in white shirts and ties. A guy at the door admits you and hands you off to another guy who seats you. A third guy pours your water etc. The menu is in French. Know what you are signing up for. If you like that scene, this is a great place. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The French wines were great. Dessert was awesome. The pacing was just right. The people watching was entertaining. The price tag was commensurate with the superior experience. We would definitely return.
Good food and decent service, but service fades after ordering your meal.
