   This was our first dinner at La Foret, but not our last. Food was delicious. Waiter was informative: we planned to order seafood, but learned about the rack of venison with cherry reduction sauce (yes, I requested a spoon!) so we both ordered it. Souffle was perfect - can't wait to have it again! Thank you for a very memorable birthday dinner.

   Beautiful restaurant, we had 5 course and their 6 course and it was an overall amazing experience. We’d definitely be back. Everything was fantastic. Ambiance, FOOD, servers, all really good!

    La Foret is an upscale exeprience with prices to match. The food is outstanding the service is spot on. We have been to the place a number of times and are never disappointed. It is the best palce intown for a specil;a occasion or if you are just getting tired of the chains.

    Sorry to leave this review but I was not happy with the food at all. It might have been because I came in the evening but the tortellini was really hard and the butter smelled awful. It tasted like it was sitting in a fridge with other food for a really long while. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be coming again.

    Food was sub par for the price. I ordered New Zealand venison, was though and came out raw inside, could only eat the edges, cherry demi-glaze was way too tart, totally offensive and overpowering. My wife ordered salmon, pulled out several bones. Sou chef skills 101, to debone the fish. Our waiter Allen was great but spread thin, the house booked every table and staff couldn’t keep up. I really hope that they get things figured out there soon because that restaurant and the location is an absolute gem and such a beautiful place. We will definitely go back for the atmosphere by a restaurant. Can’t survive just on atmosphere alone step it up guys.

    First time here and was incredibly impressed by the whole experience- the server was outstanding- professional but with a great sense of humour - knowledgeable and took time to explain. The party size was four , 3 of us meat and seafood eaters , my wife was vegetarian. We ordered the Venison ribs - the Wagu steak , the seafood del Mar and my wife the vegetarian option ( mushroom tortellini ) The meat and seafood dishes were unreal - absolutely cooked to perfection! Unfortunately the vegetarian option was not, it was like pasta in a bowl of soup and my wife couldn’t eat it. A restaurant of this calibre should be able to be more creative for vegetarians as goes for most restaurants to be honest - it’s always mushroom pasta or risotto! An excellent wine list - very good cocktails and great staff ! Definitely come back but please ! Do better for vegetarians. The ambiance was good although the restaurant was very quiet but we ate late 8pm so probably busier earlier . Definitely recommend this place for a special event or you just fancy a great meal with equally great service.

    We arrived a little early and was wonderful to visit with the marvelous staff. The setting of La Foret makes your dining experience even more memorable when it is a special occasion. The formal setting and the impeccable staff makes it perfect evening. Wonderful food to make it a wonderful evening.

    Exceptional, absolutely exceptional!!! The ambiance, the food, the service, the entire experience from beginning to end was beyond excellent. We were celebrating our 23rd anniversary and the staff really made it a very special dining experience for me and husband. I highly recommend La Foret!!!

    We have been coming to La Foret for since three 1980s when we were kids. The food quality attention to detail and ambiance used to be remarkable. Since it was sold a few years ago the food quality and staff have not kept up to its old standards. What has kept up is it's very expensive pricing. We had dinner in October 2022 on Saturday night. They have put a bunch of two person tables in the middle of the room. Not great. The chairs are not comfortable and dif into your back if you are taller. My beef tenderloin was ordered midum rare and came back cold in the middle. We let them know we were having a special occasion and didn't get acknowledged. Winter was not very attentive. Yes it was somewhat crowded but not overly. I think we have reached our end with La Foret. Many, many great memories that make it special to us, but it doesn't stand on its own for a singular dining experience. And that is what you should expect at La Foret. This is not the first time we didn't come away thrilled. So I think it wasn't just a bad night. Too bad. PS the barrel aged Manhattans are still really good!

    Nice ambiance with poor food quality. First time here and was impressed with the location and ambiance. Unfortunately, the food quality was sub par. Salad was spinach out of the bag with a few beet pieces, the mushroom soup was watery and tasteless, and the tortellini undercooked and little filling. Will not return.

    Service was excellent, the meal itself was more than adequate – despite the lettuce in my salade francaise being partly frozen at the bottom – but the prices are far too high, especially for beverages. I paid $65 for a bottle of wine that sells for $12.99 at BevMo, and I could have bought a full bottle of Glenlivet scotch for what I was charged for less than two fingers in a double old-fashioned glass.

    My husband & I had a lovely evening last night celebrating my birthday. The staff was so welcoming. Our server Meghan was outstanding, she was attentive, friendly & made me feel very special on my birthday. Our cocktails & dinners were amazing. We look forward to our next visit there.

    World Class French Cuisine in San Jose What a great treat it is to dine at La Foret! Make sure to bring your appetite, because the 5, 6 or 7 course options will leave you both satisfied and marveled at the wonderful and unique flavors this restaurant is able to produce. We had the wine pairing, and totally recommend it Alan took care of us as if we were family, but the real star of the night is the food Quail, tenderloin medallions and the tortellini with their secret garlic sauce are amazing

    It is a nice restaurant, pretty pricey. I love the ambiance, nice service, not very fast but usually you have time going there for a special occasion. Some dishes are great, some not . The lamb was amazing, the pasta with Fruits de Mer was very expensive and had only 3 shrimp and 2 scallops for 55 USD. The lamb was 60 USD and was fantastic ! The desserts are very good ! I highly recommend the Restaurants for a special occasion, but order meats !
