We're already planning next time. The supporting staff was excellent as well. We splurged a bit and wanted to get the La Forte experience which we all did...

We were married here and come back every year on our wedding date to celebrate. Everything was perfect, as usual.

My bf had an amazing bday dinner. Our waiter, Alan was wonderful and very acknowledgeable with the menu and he recommended us a phenomenal dishes to us and I really enjoyed them all. Thank you

First, I must mention that all the safety precautions were being adhered to. Temperature checks, masks, etc. with instructions on the table of how to maintain space and be responsible for safety at tables. Food was amazing and they have transformed the outdoor into such a beautiful area to eat. Service was wonderful. Maurice and his staff were so super catering, which made the meal so special.

Was an amazing experience. Server was great and made wonderful suggestions. I tried Elk for the first time and I was blown away! Cocktails were delicious and the new outdoor space is phenomenal! Highly recommend for a special occasion or just to make a day special.

Everything was excellent. Outdoor patio dining, not too crowded on Sunday evening. Service was great. Recommended wine for me and cocktail for my wife were on point, exactly what we wanted to pair with our food.

The escargot appetizer was one of the better ones that we've had at high end restaurants like La Foret. We used our starter bread with butter to suck up all the olive oil mix on the plate. The beef tartar appetizer was also really good. Soup of the day was Boston style clam chowder. I'd probably pass on that next time. It was good, but nothing special.

For the entree we had the Veal and Elk. I didn't know Elk could be that good. Cooked medium rare, it was lean but very soft. The veal was also good, but I love that Elk dish.

Ended the night with their famous Grand Marnier Soufflé. It was soft, sweet, warm and cold at the same time. Sweet goodness with maybe a touch too strong on the Grand Marnier. But it was still very good.

Price was at par with other high-end restaurants, but this one was worth the $$$.

They have done a nice job with adapting for the pandemic!

It has been awhile since we have dined at La Foret. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner -service, food, and setting were great! The temperature with heaters under the tent was comfortable too.

LeForet has done an outstanding job creating a peaceful outdoor garden setting ambience to enjoy a delicious, yes a bit on the expensive side but worth it, dinner.
Give it a try, you wont regret it.

You will simply not find a better cuisine anywhere nearby. La Foret has been my go-to for *very* special meals for 20 years. Absolutely lovely food, and a mature ambience that I hugely appreciate. The wine pairings are all great, occasionally brilliant. Please don't change anything!!

Beautiful outdoor set up for COVID, with great views. However, the food was just OK. It might be due to a busy night (Valentine dinner), and the wine pairing for the fixed price dinner was not that great. Overall, it was a nice experience, but the food/wine and the price we paid for it might not worth it. We'll probably try again on a less busy night.

La Foret is a favorite romantic restaurant for celebrating special occasions. We weren’t sure it could be as special during COVID, but we were pleasantly surprised and quite delighted with our lovely creekside outdoor dining experience. All COVID protocols with appropriately distanced tables were followed, with hand sanitizer at each table. Despite plentiful heaters, it was chilly after dark, so dress warmly. We enjoyed the exquisite tasting menu with the suggested wine pairings. Caesar salad, tortellini with a luscious porcini cream sauce, prawns in a lemon, garlic and white wine sauce, followed by a choice of salmon or tournedos of beef tenderloin. Both entrees were great and perfectly prepared. The chocolate torte dessert was delicious. I am not a big fan of Port wine, so the only improvement I would make is to instead order decaf coffee with the chocolate torte. Parking is convenient in the large parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.

Ambiance beautiful setting, food nice presentation, taste not top notch but good, service a bit slow at 1st but had a good time.

This was an amazing night out. We had tried to go to our "go-to" night out spot , which hadn't yet re-opened, La Foret was a place we had wanted to go but just hadn't made it there yet, so we gave it a shot.

What a treat it turned it to be! Our waiter was awesome, the set up on the back patio was perfect , the food was amazing! We will definitely be back!

We've been coming here since it was called "New Almaden Food and Beverage" ... and that's over 40 years. Never a bad meal and this visit was no exception. The effort that has been put in to making the outdoor seating impervious to the elements and temperature is extensive. Highly recommend it for special occasions. We can't wait for them to restart the Brunch service.

The restaurant had just opened for outside dining one day before our anniversary. Considering that, they really did a great job!

Celebrating a birthday

Dinner was lovely - food was excellent (a bit pricey but knew that going in). Loved the indoor / outdoor seating options. Tables well spaced for Covid-19 protocols. Loved that they take your temp before seating you at a table to confirm you don't have a fever.

Nice outdoor seating area to keep everyone safe during this pandemic.
It started to cool down fast, and the attentive staff offered to place a patio heater next to our table.
They surprised us with a dessert for our special occasion.

We enjoyed our night out having dinner at La Foret, but due to the restriction, etc., we had to eat at the entrance outside rather than on one of the patios despite having reservations. That part ended up being okay aside from the loud motorcycles and cars driving by. We had the tasting menu and while the dishes were good, they were not great in my opinion. The restaurant is a bit dated in it's design and the food seems a bit dated as well. I guess it would be considered classic. For the price that we paid, it's just not my preference.
