Our server went above & beyond to make our experience memorable.
Lovely setting. Lovely food and even better service.
My first trip to La Foret was in 1970 for my Senior Prom. It was magical then...it is even more so now! Not for those on a budget, it is well worth the drive and the price for a special occasion. Quail, halibut, salmon, beef and prawns all divine! And save room for the Grand Marnier Soufflé!
Our first time since reopening... best food and service yet! The food was all incredible. Service great. La Foret is better than before...
ok, I love La Foret, This was the first time going back since it reopened. I thought it was good, but not excellent. The garlic is the dishes tasted raw, and the salmon and crab app was bland, with the salmon over powering the crab. I was a little disappointed but I'm going to try it again maybe.
My husband and I came here for our 17th anniversary. We had the tasting menu and everything was excellent. Juan our server was great, attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly. My husband had the tasting menu 2 and I had 1. Everything came out very good. The souffle was amazing. The meats were perfectly cooked-Kobe beef, quail. The scallop was perfection. The salad was surprisingly good as well. Overall a very nice dinner for the occasion.
Went for Sunday brunch and had wonderful dining experience. My Mom and I ordered the poached salmon and our outstanding server, Joseph, offered a grilled option as a choice and we both jumped at it. The salmon was incredibly delicious and melted in our mouths. The brunch entrees came with a starter of gigantic prawns with cocktail sauce, sliced melons, grapes, smoked Gouda cheese and marinated mushrooms and artichokes. This in itself paired with the basket of toast points and scones was pretty filling! To complete our brunch, we shared the combination sampling dessert with dark chocolate torte, amaretto cheesecake and creme brûlée. All were delicious but next time, I will have a full order of the cheesecake all to myself!
I can't say enough about our server, Joseph. He really made our brunch a wonderful dining experience. My Mom had a lot to catch up on and let us linger for long time over coffee and tea. It was a beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning/early afternoon. We will be back very soon!
Fine dining in luxurious setting.
Professional staff who really seem happy to be of service.
Sunday Brunch is amazing.
This is a lovely place but noise level lessened the experience. Very very expensive. The combination desert had two 3 inch long slivers of torte and cheesecake and crime brûlée the size of a silver dollar. It cost $14.
This was our first experience with the new ownership of a restaurant that we have loved for years. We were very pleasantly surprised that the food, service, and ambience was better than ever. A very special place we will continue to patronize.
Le Foret has recently re-opened after being sold. It seems after having been going there for several years that the menu has changed as has the chef. They seem to be cutting corners and it is not a elegant as before.
I have been there twice recently and was disappointed both times.
The only thing that hasn't changed is the Maitre d, Sammie and it was nice to see him again.
The new decor is nice
Been coming here for 25 years for special occasions. Was there for my wife's B Day, Lobster app was outstanding as was the salad and Quail, however, the egg plant app was tasteless and my wife's salmon dry. Love this place so we will give them another shot.
It was a great place to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday.
Amazing good and service. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and the waiter and chef did everything to accommodate me without making me feel bad. Well worth the drive and the price point.
Awesome food great service!
As always, the food was fantastic.
Our server, Allen was phenomenal, the food was outstanding and we discovered our new favorite wine.
Great food. The elk was fabulous! Ahmed is a great server. This is the second time he has waited on us.
The food was excellent but the service was not very good. We waited a good 15 minutes before our waiter showed up. We ordered wine, appetizers and our meal. Out came our appetizer but no wine yet. Waiter stopped by to say wine was on the way. Finished our appetizer got our salad and the wine showed up about the same time. Wasn't just us - table behind us ordered soup and never got it and when the waiter was asked about the soup he say they never ordered it. Table next to them received the wrong order. We've been going here for years and never had this experience. We'll try again at some point and hope it's better.
This was our fourth time spending our anniversary at La Foret. It was always special in the past. This time, not so much. They knew it was our anniversary but did nothing to make it special. The price has gone up but the service has slipped a bit. There are lots of other restaurants to chose so I will La Foget La Foret next time.
We arrived at 6:20 and were seated promptly. The salads were small but came promptly around 6:40. Then, after we were long finished with the salads, about 40 minutes later, our waiter came with 2 more salads! We asked if the main courses were on the way or there was confusion with our order. He said that all was OK and our entrees were on the way. But it took another 30-40 minutes for them to arrive. Good food, as in our prior visits. But the service is much worse after the re-opening last October. The waiter was very unprofessional for a restaurant with $$.
It was as we expected. Cozy, enjoyable, well-prepared French food. Made for nice early-evening date. We took a light hike prior to dinner in the neighboring county park. However, the dining room has a dress code, so some planning for changing shoes, etc. was necessary. A little overpriced, but good for an occasional splurge or those with fat wallets. Reservations recommended.
We loved our meal. It has a new chef and the food was wonderful. The souffle s amazing.
The hostess was a little rude and the waitress seemed uninterested in her job
This is our favorite place to dine. When it closed for a short period of time we were so sad. Than we were a Little skeptical when it reopened but the food is still as amazing as it was the first time we met.
Our first time there and it was better than we expected. Sometimes prefix menu for Valentine or Mother day could be disaster. Food was excellent. Service was great, but our wine came out late. Seemed like they rush the food out and the wine had to be fetched from somewhere far! Anyway, we would like to come back for the regular menu.
Excellent service. Love this restaurant. So glad it was kept open.
The staff was very friendly and nice. The food was excellent. I will definitely go back for dinner.
We have comfortable time always at La Foret,
romantic creek view and beautiful table settings by the staff.
I believe everybody enjoys atmosphere not only dishes.
This is at least a once in a life time experience. We have been enjoying La Foret for over 30 years. Excellent quality food, staff and ambience....a must.
So happy LaForet reopened and is as good as it was previously. The food and service was exceptional.
Just like the original La Foret, but everything is spruced up and beautiful!so happy our favorite special restaurant is back!
Great establishment. Would have given service 5stars, however, during our 6 course wine paired dinner, the food came out twice before the paired wine. We had to wait a minute or so during which the food got cooler.
We weren't rushed at all.
Some restaurants bring your entree before you're finished with your salad.
There was no pressure.
The entree list was varied and would appeal to everyone.
A perfect place for a special dinner.
Great special occasion restaurant. The food is wonderful an the place has a great atmosphere.
Very NOISEY first floor but they kindly replaced us upstairs.
Nice business casual place. Mostly all dishes sounded interesting and they make a great martini.
Anniversary and booked under but they didn’t acknowledge it. Still awesome place
Tried for reservation here for our last (57th) anniversary only to learn it was closing. My fav0rite restaurant in the San Jose area is LePapillon which WAS a sister restaurant to LeForet..............now it's reopened by an old restaurant family in Palo Alto..........Osteria.......... but is just as wonderful as we remembered it. Pricey but worthy!!!!!!!
