Excellent meal as always. We miss Johnny, but the experience is still memorable. We like the additions of more wild game choices.

We celebrated our anniversary. We loved the French music, the unusual menu options, bison, quail, venison etc. I ordered the quail and La Foret's dinner salad and it was delicious. The service was fantastic and the staff was extremely attentive. They wished us a happy anniversary several times and brought us a chocolate slice of tart with candles to celebrate

Ambience and service was excellent, however, the poached salmon had no consistency or flavor. Fortunately, the farm fresh vegetables and very hot soup made up for the undercooked salmon.

Great food! We're so glad that they reopened with new ownership yet kept some of the incredible dishes, such as the Ahi Tuna. We had that as an appetizer and it melted in your mouth.

My husband had the Bison ribeye which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was very moist and flavorful. My Quail was delicious with the huckleberry sauce.

They accommodated us in moving our table as well, which we greatly appreciated.

Highly recommend - it's a must!

My wife loves this place. It is very romantic. Very good service. I just never have good luck with the food, This time there was three of us. Poached salmon was raw, shrimp was tough, and the Ribeye was fatty and lot of gristle. Was not a $55. steak. But the atmosphere is great.

The food at LaForet is delicious. It has a French/continental menu, with a number of Italian dishes. There is something for everyone.... fish, pasta, meat. The setting is charming, in an old, historic building out in the country. It is worth the drive for the fine food and charming atmosphere. They also have an extensive collection of fine wines.
This is a special occasion restaurant, as it is is quite pricey. The prices are justified by the quality of the food, and the portions.

We found this place a bit too stuffy for us. The salmon was good but our other dishes were just okay and not worth the high costs. They give you a nice free platter of fruits and cheese with your meal but charge you for the peligrino water they serve you. Also, it is quite far out of the way. Everyone was friendly but it took a while to get the bill.

Food and service is always fantastic. The Sunday brunch comes with a beautiful starter of huge prawns, the best cocktail sauce ever, marinated artichokes and mushrooms, array of fresh fruits and sliced smoked gouda cheese....it is a beautiful presentation and is such a special way to start your dining experience.

Enjoyed a night out for our anniversary. We were seated at a table right by the creek. Great wine list and excellent recommendations. Our waiter Allen made excellent recommendations and had a great sense of humor. We will definitely be back again.

Excellent service from Allan. Great recommendations and fun conversation. Setting by the creek is the best. We saw 4 deer slipping through the water eating the leaves. Food as great as ever. Subtle spices and excellent sauces.
We will go back for a special occasion

Very good food and a nice atmosphere. Service was good but not quite attentive enough for the type of place it is. Having a real bar is a nice change from the prior version. I think we’ll stop by sometime just for the bar. I don’t know what the corkage fee is but, whatever it is, I’d bring my own wine next time. Very limited selection, presented via an iPad for some reason. But, the big reason is the wine pricing, easily double what I’d expect, with wines by the glass approaching the retail price for a bottle in some cases. If you want a nice glass to go with a very nice meal, plan on $35 or so. I can understand the food pricing, given the quality ingredients and attention to preparation detail but the wine prices just felt like a gouge. I’m glad La Foret is continuing on though - good to have it here.

The wine tasting was very generous pours’ Food was lovely- sauces delicious. It was a very enjoyable dinner. My husband was a bit dissapointed in tenderloin but seafood was melt in your mouth delicious. Salad was fresh and crisp. Elk was a bit leathery but I don’t know if that is how elk is as I never had it before. The lamb was very good. Dessert was delicious.
They did a fabulous job pairing the wines with the entrees. Choices were perfect- it was just too much alcohol for me. I could barely walk out of there! Lol.

Historic building with absolutely beautiful surroundings. Our table overlooked a bubbling creek, very nice. The grilled shrimp appetizer was a feast for the palate. My steak was perfectly prepared, tender, juicy and tasty. The veggies that came with the steak were special - full of flavor, and I believe they are locally grown at the Grandview Farm. Our server, Alan, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable, assisting us with our menu choices. Our bill, (not including tip), for 1 appetizer, two entrees, 3 glasses of wine, 2 desserts with 2 glasses of port, was $275. Pricey, but worth the occasional visit. The right live music would have enhanced the overall experience, instead of the Pandora jukebox.

This restaurant used to be very intimate - and I loved it! They have since opened it up and put very large tables for large groups. The noise level is over the top and even though my party was only four and we were seated at a small table, we couldn't hear one another over the noise. My mom and I had wonderful food (she had the ahi, I had the chicken breast) but our husbands had the salmon and both of them said that it was very mushy and had no texture. Both of them were very disappointed. I would very much like to see it go back to being a more intimate venue rather than accommodating large groups. Yes, I understand that the business model may not fit, but I don't think that this new model is doing the place any favors. This used to be my favorite restaurant bar none. Unfortunately, it's moved quite far down on the list. The one thing that has not changed is the beautiful setting.

Lovely setting-quiet so able to talk. Food was good but not great----expensive. Do not know why if visit was "a special occasion" was asked ---rated a I/2 strawberry with candle---had to laugh. I so looked forward to this dinner but was disappointed. Brunch may be better?

It was louder than I remember. Service was great, timing was very off, since appetizers came 40 minutes from when we sat. But the food was not well for the price. Pasta was good, although spicier for those with me. For me, ordering a steak med-rare came out blue, and I wasn’t the only table who complained and sent it back or just away. This was a special occasion, and I left hungry and disappointed for a place I enjoyed to go to. The staff did try to compensate, which is the only reason I would return. Not what I’d expect from a restaurant that has done.much better in the past.

I went with my fiancee to celebrate our anniversary/engagement and was absolutely blown away. The atmosphere was great and the staff was amazing. They really went out of their way to make it a special experience for us. The wine pairings they suggested were fabulous and I can honestly say this ranks in the top 3 dining experiences I have ever had. The food was incredible and so rich and full of flavor. It made for the most special of special occasions and I won't soon forget it!

As frequent visitors to La Foret under different management, we were very disappointed. The good: interior appeared to have been freshened up. The service was excellent. The bad: the food. We had four items. In 3 of 4 there was so much pepper that you couldn’t taste the food. Heavy on spices in general. The rack of lamb was ok but nothing like the rack of lamb was in the past. Maybe it was just a bad night for the chef.
