Celebrating friends engagement
Truly my favorite restaurant People make fun of us for going there so frequently but with the menu always changing and the food and drinks consistent it’s a winner for us.
La Food Marketa is my favorite restaurant, but my boyfriend ordered the Cordon Bleu Tacos and he thought they were very bland. The North By Southwest Salad is one of my favorites, as is the Tuna Tostada. If you chill easily, I'd ask not to be seated by the windows as well...it's a bit drafty.
Fun environment. We felt very rushed by our server who mentioned several times that they were booked for the night and wanted us to order as quickly as we could.
We both had the TRES LECHES FRENCH TOAST. I loved it but my friend thought it was too sweet. (There is no such thing IMO!). Was loud as usual, hindering conversation. The service was great.
one of our favorite places to go ~ a great place to take friends out for a special celebration. Love going during warm weather, the outside dining is delightful
Food was great. Wait staff outstanding, courteous and attentive.
It's a favorite of mine. for a casual bite or a spacial occasion.
Took advantage of Taco Tuesday and happy hour. I really thought I got a lot for my money. Happy hour house wine was $5 a glass and a generous pour. Sangria was tasty too! The complimentary chips and salsa were fabulous. I don’t think I’ve ever had such thin tortilla chips before and I can’t wait to go back for more. My fried fish tacos were a guilty pleasure and totally worth every calorie. Service was very professional (but I gotta be honest, the bartender’s nose ring was off-putting. I don’t mind a piercing, but the bull-ring is not pleasant to look at.) Anyway... See you soon, La Food Marketa!
Delicious my favorite spot
I come here for brunch pretty often. I have never had a bad experience. The brunch menu is so creative and the drinks are always great!
Food was very good... Not outstanding. Our food too an inordinately long time to come. They weren't that busy. I can understand when that happens, but the server should be aware, bring us an extra appetizer, whatever. And the food wasn't worth the wait.. Very good, again not outstanding.
I ordered a cappuccino with dessert. The waitress forgot it. When I told her, there was zero apology. She just said she'd get it.. And since she already gave us the check, she indicated they wouldn't charge us. That's great because we were finished dessert and I really didn't want it anymore... But there was no downside since it was free. She came back with the 5 dollar cappuccino and a revised check. I was too embarrassed to day anything in front of our dinner partners, but I was not happy. I drank it quickly without pleasure since we needed to leave ...and left.
Not a great experience. They can do better.
Everything was lovely as always.
Reservations are recommended as the place was PACKED on a Saturday night. The food was amazing and the portions were pretty big for the price we paid. The waiting area is small so we ended up seated at a table that was surrounded by people waiting. It was a little awkward as they watched us eat. Other than that one table, the rest of the space seemed relaxed and well decorated. The fried green tomato appetizer was my favorite dish of the night.
Surprisingly good. Service was great and seated immediately. All wait staff are well trained. Menu heavily Spanish/Mexican. Well prepared. Black bean soup is very good. Also had lamb shank. Somewhat overdone but a hard dish to make for a restaurant. We will go back. Perhaps in the Spring when one can sit on the deck and the noise level will be lower.
The food and the service were both amazing! I can't wait to visit again.
Our second trip here. Only reason we haven’t returned sooner was due to it being an hour from home. Well worth the trip. You can tell each ingredient is fresh and prepared to perfection. Great American twist on classic Mexican flavors.
Very casual and upbeat atmosphere! Food was delicious and portion size was perfect (not too little-not too much) Guacamole was some of the best I have ever had! The server was pleasant and attentive. This was my first time there and I will definitely be a returning customer.
This was our second time at the restaurant... We were really looking forward to trying the brunch and we were not impressed. The Tres Leches French Toast was dry and the other plates did not impress. Dinner is amazing though, will definitely be going back for that.
Not our first time at Marketa but our first visit for brunch....and not our last! Everything was delicious AND piping hot (a pet peeve of mine). Menu is diverse, drinks were yummy too.
My only complaint about this location vs. the Hampden restaurant is that the one in Hampden seems to consistently have very friendly servers - sadly not always the case here. That being said, we always feel so welcomed at the door! Already made a res for our next brunch!
As always, food and service were wonderful!
Great service. Food was pretty good. Had to send back a dry burger and burnt bread but the replacements were great. Good drinks.
Always a great meal! Shout out to Angelo at the front of the house as well.
Our favorite uptown place. Consistently excellent food and drinks, but the real gems are the staff. These are the happiest, kindest restaurant workers in town and tellingly they’re the same people who’ve been there for years. I think there must be a culture of care for them and you can tell by the way they, in turn, treat patrons. We always leave full and happy. Xo
after raving about food, brought a celebration lunch group and was disappointed. food was 50% good, otherwise fair. I will return as it is one of my favorite area resturants
Not a place I would go again.
It was the worst experience I’ve had at the restaurant. We were seated next to a party near the back and we wanted to leave since we sat down. They were so obnoxious and it ruined the entire experience, we were never offered to move tables or anything. Very dissatisfying.
Will make it a weekly place to eat. Service was amazing and the food was great.
La Food Marketa is always a fun experience. We go there often and love the cuisine. This past weekend there were four of us and between the beef saltado and fish and chips, it was hard to select a favorite. The service by Tracey was excellent too. Don’t miss this local gem at the Quarry!
Always like it here.
Wen’t with my mom, husband and newborn for dinner and we loved it. Staff was super attentive and the food was amazing. Definitely going back for the brunch. The Octopus is a must have.
Food and drinks are always excellent. The Leche de Tigre infused tequila is my favorite!
Still the best! Best food, best people, best service! Our happy place!
Excellent food and service. Liked the Scotch eggs very much. The seared rare tuna was also delicious. . Good chunky guacamole.
Excellent service, food was delicious and the atmosphere was hip and fun with families, couples, small groups of friends - everyone! We especially enjoyed the music (old school R&B) and the welcoming staff. Awesome experience!
Great food great service! Waitress was very attentive and food did not take long to come to our table
Six of us and several different dishes. Be sure and start with the exceptional guacamole and queso. I had Mom’s turkey tacos and I would have sworn I was eating a beef taco. Very good. Fish tacos are a favorite and always great. Salad with salmon was perfectly prepared.
We eat here at least once a month. Always consistently good with great service. Highly recommended.
The food here is consistently delicious - doesn’t matter if we are on a date or a family dinner the meal is always great!
Superior friendly service -- delicious food -- and cold martini -- an all around great time!
