Great Valentines dinner. Maggie is awesome! Food was terrific.
Great meal. Maggie was wonderful server! Really enjoyed restaurant.
Picked for the convenience of location but the food was nothing special. Service was good.
Exceptional service and wait staff. Food is creative and very good.
Good place for lunch. Never to crowded
For cocktails, we had a cucumber refresher and Toki Fashion. The drinks are a little on the sweet side and we were not able to detect any actual spirits (Hendricks and Toki Whisky were expected). Besides that, presentation and flavor were fine.
The sesame seared ahi was too fishy for my wife and a little spicy for me, but the seaweed salad that accompanied it was good. Nice presentation. The Roasted carrot soup was excellent. I ordered the cowboy steak, medium rare. For a 16 oz bone-in ribeye, it was a thin slice...well under 1 inch thick with a light pink center instead of the warm red center I was expecting. A little fatty, but flavor and texture were good.
The dining room environment was nothing special...standard hotel restaurant layout. Noise levels were lower than average, in part because so few other diners were present. Overall, the dining experience was okay, but we've definitely had more enjoyable ~$250 meals elsewhere.
Excellent for the price and convenience inside Hilton. Had a great team dinner before convention event.
Great food and outstanding customer services
Was La Fontana up to the Thanksgiving dinner challenge? Sort of. The prix fixe menu was limited, which is fine, but …. The arugula and shaved brussels sprouts salad was dressed like cole slaw, which was not very appealing and not something the menu hinted at. The turkey and prime rib were fine, but shared the same mashed potato and dressing sides (although one had green beans and the other had brussels sprouts). Desserts were accompanied by a very pleasant vanilla ice cream, one of the higher points. Service was mostly good, but perhaps because of Thanksgiving scheduling, not top notch: a server brought entrées to our table when we were still eating our soup and salad, but it turned out that there were not actually ours, they were meant for another table.
We had a great Thanksgiving Lunch. The food was fabulous. Three of us had the pork loin and the other meal was Prime Rib. We loved the warm bread. It was served with butter and an olive tapenade. All sides were great. The desserts were individual torts. And the coffee was great (usually something that is not always expected). But what really impressed us was the manager came by a couple of times and the server came by numerous times to see how things were going, or if we needed anything. It was a great Thanksgiving Meal.
I love this place, cozy, food is good service is good!
We were somewhat disappointed. The restaurant was not busy, yet service was still slow. The ambiance was not very good, even for a hotel based restaurant. It was also overly bright for an evening dinner. I don't think we will go again.
The menu is very limited. Food and service was ok. If not staying at hotel I would not go.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful with my group of 7 diners. Our food was very good and the roundtable setting was great for our group to talk.
It was surprisingly quiet for a Thursday afternoon. So we could take our time to enjoy the food and chatted for a long time at a very pleasant restaurant.
Decent menu. A little overpriced. Not many options for vegetarians.
This is a place we continually visit especially for business meals and service is professional and friendly. Everyone enjoyed the wine, entrees and desserts.
Friendly staff, good food, great beer but not worth the price.
Wonderful dishes, excellent and attentive service. Nice and quiet for an overall enjoyable dining experience. In particular, the Chilean Sea Bass and shrimp capellini were cooked to perfection. A delightful surprise for a hotel restaurant. Wait service was attentive but not rushed.
The food was good; the service speed could be improved.
We made an appointment at 1PM. We were not seated because not everyone arrived at once. Some were stuck at the long line at the front, which took 20 minutes. Once everyone paid and arrived, then there was a 40-minute wait. If the restaurant cannot seat us until everyone arrived, then it cannot ask us to wait once everyone arrived. It should be either or. The restaurant cannot take both to its advantage. In addition, we made an appointment in advanced.
Once our table was ready after a 40-minute wait, we learned that emptied tables were all over next to ours. Very strange that we even had to wait, let alone for 40-minutes.
Food selection was very limited consider the charge, tips included we paid $70+ per person.
This was the worst Mother's Day Brunch EVER! Reservation at 12:45. Checked in and they charged us immediately including an 18% gratuity for a buffet. Seated at 1:20 only because it was clear we were going to leave. Sat down, no one came to the table, after 10 mins, waived down a waiter to get drinks. It took 2 trips to get 4 drinks and no water. The buffet was set up in the lobby, where the doors were constantly opening, so they food did not stay warm. Oysters ran out before we even got to the buffet line. The staff was working extremely hard as management clearly over booked. But as brunch slowed down, service did not improve, the staff went through the line and sat at the bar to eat themselves.
Great Service, Great food selection at Mother's Day Brunch, good value for the $. Pastries were beautiful but dry and crumbly. Thank you for the great first time experience.
This review is for Mothers Day Brunch. Seating was disorganized and with a reservation we waited for 20 min for the 3 of us to be seated. The music in the lobby was too loud. The face painting was a nice touch for the children. The balloon flower decorations were wonderful. The buffet set up was well done. The prime rib was tasty. The omelet bar was the best option with a nice variety of pastries. The desserts were also good. We especially liked the decorated sugar cookies. However, the seafood & most of the hot food and salads were rather flavorless. There seemed to be too much salt or a lack of it for all of the hot food. The chicken was over breaded, but the fresh mushroom sauce was good. Overall, there were some hits, but for $70. a head(tax &tip inc.) - there were too many misses. Our server was mostly absent. Served a nice box of tea and a nice pot of hot water... took 15 minutes to get his attention to bring us a tea mug. Plates left on the table , never cleared the last round before we left. I had expected a higher level of service. We enjoyed many things, but overall we were disappointed.
Sunday Mother's Day brunch was a very good experience. Several dietary restrictions allowed multiple options and no one went home hungry. Not enough of those delicious oysters though!
Mother’s Day food and fun for the whole family! Great food, live music, face painting and balloons for the kiddos and a photo booth for that post brunch coma photo shoot, ALL INCLUSIVE! Most definitely will be our annual Mother’s Day family event!
I visit about once every other month and I enjoy coming in and the waiter recognizes me and asks how I am doing and says long time no see.
Service was exceptional.
The blackened salmon mango salad was awesome
La Fontana at the Hilton was perfect for us, as it was close to the San Jose airport where we were dropping our daughter for her flight to Seattle. We had good food, promptly served in pleasant surroundings.
Nice place to meet for a business meeting. Quick service, as needed.
Service was good but food was so horrible. Fish was no where near fresh and the steak was so bland and dry. We didn’t realize this place was in the hotel and as expected was just as bad as room service.
Solid food, genuine service, unpretentious, quiet. Will definitely be back.
Food: squash soup was excellent; baked napoleon with chicken had undercooked vegetables and overcooked chicken. Service: We said that we did not want drinks, but we were asked at least three times whether we wanted drinks. The pace of the meal felt rushed. However, we were looking for a relatively quiet restaurant in which to converse, and the restaurant was very good in this respect. My fellow diner enjoyed the California hamburger. I suspect that this is a restaurant where it is best to order simpler food.
Good food and great service, one of the best in the valley.
La Fontana was a nice place with decently priced menu. We only ordered desserts, though.
Food and service were good. Quieter than many restaurants in the area so good for business conversation. The room feels a little like a hotel breakfast room rather than a fine restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic evening.
Lovely setting, easy access from 237 or 101. The salads and soups are wonderful. Very creative menu. The wait staff was attentive and very fun in sharing the special menu of the day
I thought the food was above average but not great. The presentation was beautiful. The service was also good, not great. It was a beautiful dining room in a beautiful hotel but I felt for the price the food and service should have been a few levels up.
