The place is good but the food is average and believe me, you get a lot of it. If you are going for a three course meal, don't bother. The starter will fill you up and you will struggle to eat the main. The portions are way too big. The staff and owners are friendly and welcoming. Selection of wine is good but they only serve one beer, bierra moretti.

Made my first date feel like it was part of the first dates show. Outstanding service from the loveliest of people. Homely atmosphere feels which really takes you away from the generic chains which are abundant in this town. Great food for great value. Thanks guys.

Excellent lunch at good value with lovely ambiance and attentive service. La Fontana is an Italian jewel in the heart of Bedford and Ben and Lisa are wonderful hosts.

The restaurant was very busy, with some big parties being catered for. The staff were very busy, but friendly. Service initially was a bit slow, having to wait about 10 minutes after being seated before being offered a drink. However, after that, service was fine. The food was excellent, and we would definitely return. Overall, an enjoyable evening.

Another lovely night, great food and fantastic service. Choosing which food is hard work because everything we have tried is lovely. It’s better than home cooking but still has the charm of the best your mum can make. thanks.

My wife and i haven’t been to the restaurant since Lisa and Ben took over and what a lovely surprise. We used to like the old restaurant and menu but it’s got better! The welcome was friendly and we immediately felt at home and the service was attentive without being over the top. single sitting helps if you want to relax and have a nice bottle of wine. Starters were lovely, main course fantastic and the tiramisu was to die for. Definitely going to be a regular. Thanks. Andrew & Sally
