Excellent service, very kind waitstaff, and great cocktails! The create your own chocolate fondue with white chocolate and amaretto is my favorite!
The service was amazing, fun experience. Pricey, but you leave very full and happy.
Honestly it felt like we got ripped off. We have always loved La Fondue but an $800 bill for 5 people is ridiculous. They charged us a service charge that was 20% of our bill and it didn’t even specifically tip our servers so we had to leave even more if we wanted to say thank you to our servers. The worst part about the service charge, besides it being astronomically 20%, was they never told us about it. It wasn’t in the menu or anywhere. It just looks like something they tried to hide on our bill and then they took taxes on it too. Ridiculous.
Our other complaint was we can’t cook in oil anymore. We still wanted to fondue so we chose the broth and had serious concerns it was hot enough to cook chicken properly.
Unfortunately we regret going there and feel like we were ripped off. We will not be back.
Overpriced for what you get. They don't have enough variety in their dippers all around. Their sauces need a lot of work. The drinks are tiny and pricey -- almost $20 for a small Mai Tai? No thanks. And why aren't you given a choice in cooking methods? Grilling is NOT fondue. Brought the whole family for a special occasion and heard a lot of grumbling. Even had to turn up the lights ourselves because the room was so dark we couldn't see our food. If you're going to pay nearly $1,000 for dinner, it should be exceptional.
Service and food was great. It’s been a while since I dined at La Fondue, I like the grill option. I recommend this place for a special occasion or just a really nice date night experience.
Couples meal x2, one beer each. Add the $15 parking fee we paid after circling the area four times for parking. The experience was fun cooking our own food, until we recieved the bill, service fee, tip, and parking. Over $500. Be prepared.
22nd Birthday Dinner
Servers were overloaded- not satisfactory attention for this price. Waited long before we saw a waitress during the process. No water refills in a hot restaurant with table top cooking. Overall dissatisfied.
We had a large party so the wait staff was kept running with requests. The fellow who served water etc was amazing, so attentive since the waitress got lost at times. Our waitress was probably very busy since for a Wednesday they were full of people. We like their new table set up a lot. If you want outside seating before to reserve early since it goes fast.
The food and service are really great, but know that they do not actually have outside seating. Their "outside seating" area is still an indoor room with a door removed. It's also on a slope, so sitting there is pretty uncomfortable. There is also a service charge that we calculated to be about 18% that they don't tell you about until you receive your bill.
We were impressed with the whole evening! The food was incredible, especially the surf and turf selections. Both the cheese and chocolate fondues were delicious. You have to try the cookie dough in the chocolate fondue! They accommodated a dietary request and the server was extremely attentive. Overall, 10 out of 10!
Really amazing dinning experience. And it is an Experience. This isn't your normal dinner and should really leave room for the meal by skipping lunch. Wait staff was amazing and very much focused on guest needs. Highly recommended.
Our server was fantastic! He and his runner/busser was great! Couldn't ask for better. The fondue feast was mediocre. I was disappointed with that. That aside the wine and cheese ans dessert fondue were excellent
Even though I made a reservation a few days ahead, they wanted to seat us right by the door. I had to insist before we got a table inside. I smell snootiness!!!
Vegetarian dinner option is a waste of money. Cheese and Chocolate fondue were pretty good. The extra bananas we asked for never showed up. Asked for manager, and not too happy with his lukewarm response.
Won’t waste my money here again.
If you think something is off, please speak up!
Couldn’t hear the waitress talk
Huge service fee added to bill
Not worth the money.
Used to be our favorite place.
Food still great though!
Felt hurried and was disappointed that the website claimed meats that were changed when ordering, would have order something different if I would have known. I guess that’s why when I mentioned it to people they replied, I haven’t been there in years.
Okay food, service was good as well. But prices have skyrocketed. Compqre to pre pandemic, prices are almost 50% higher
It was an excellent experience overall. It would be a better experience if service charge and menu options are a bit more clear. Staff was polite and friendly. We were a group of 5 and we had an option of 2 type of entree, which worked fine overall.
They must have really raised their prices. First, there is a "service charge" of 15% added to the bill. Second, For four, 12oz meats (2 chicken dishes and 2 chinoise dishes), plus cheese fondue, came out to $400. We did NOT order any drinks, so it can't be blamed on that. The 2 chinoise cheddar dishes came out to $132. Thinly sliced meat with cheese in the middle? That's an enormous mark up. We used to go several times a week, but that's over now.
Finally after years of hype from Friends I made it to La fondue.
The atmosphere is definitely funky it's kind of French meats Budapest with American music playing in the background. Somehow I feel they Lost your identity along the way. But it made for an Interesting evening that's for sure.
The menu is kind of complicated for the first timers like myself but after asking many questions we were able to figure it out. Our server did a great job explaining And re-explaining laugh out loud.
we chose to grill our meats which was kind of complicated as some cook for 40 seconds per side and the other ones in a minute and something then we had to figure out which meets were which, if you've done this before it's probably not a big deal but for the first timers it's a little overwhelming..
we went with the full experience four course meal.
#2. cheese fondue with bread and veggies,
#3 . Our choice six different meats
#4. Chocolate fondue with lots of different goodies to dip into it.
I had had the chef salad with honey Mustard, I must say the chef salad was actually amazing five stars for the salad.
For the second course we went with the shiitake mushroom cheese fondue. it had kind of a funky flavor that grew on you the more you ate it 3.5 stars
Third course we pick scallops, buffalo meat, filet mignon, mahi-mahi, teriyaki sirloin, and wild duck.
The filet mignon was good, the teriyaki sirloin was OK, unfortunately the grill was not hot enough to put a sear on the scallops so I never got a nice brown sear on them. For me the best two of the bunch was the filet mignon and the buffalo. The wild duck was chewy. 2.5 stars.
The desert was really good we opted for the dark chocolate hazelnut and mascarpone fondue. Honestly I could not taste the hazelnut at all. They give you a plate with different kinds of desserts you can dip like bananas, strawberries, marshmallows, chocolate chip cookie dough, Cream puffs and more, oh and it's all you can eat as well. T
This is our first covid dining with them. Must make a reservation ahead of time, as the hostess booth is located outside, before you can walk into the restaurant. Most staff seems to be wearing a large mask, which we appreciated. We came at 6:30, and at the beginning of the service, we got attention from our waiter. However when 2 tables came into our nook, we lost all service. The waiter just dump our desserts on a table before heading to another. No word, and no mention of what to do. The table next to us got even worse service, which they got up and left. Our pot was boiling with intense steam, and still the waiter didn't come by to check on us. If it was not that we came here since 2002, we prob won't be back. We also made a comment that we are celebrating our first baby, and got no honorable mention - nothing. Service was super sloppy. On the bill, they charged a 20% fee, which was unjustified given our experience.
La Fondue adds 20% service charge to your bill. In our case, the service didn't warrant 20%. Dislike that they set the rate and don't allow the customer to choose the appropriate tip. The last time we visited the restaurant (pre pandemic) the 20% service charge was not in place.
The ambiance is perfection at La Fondue and we were so full after we left! Our service was great and plates were brought quick and taken away at the right time. I was shocked at the amount charged for a “service fee” for the restaurant staff. It was $36 and on top of that I of course was going to tip my server. The service fee was very high in my opinion and unnecessary when I am already going to be tipping 20% of my $250 bill for two people. I didn’t see a memo anywhere on the menu or front area saying there will be a restaurant service fee.
Thank goodness La Fondue is open again. The service and food never disappoints. Of course we will be coming back again very soon.
Expensive but worth it! The service is beyond outstanding. They are (for 2021 reopening, eff Covid-19) using a limited menu & bar service, however it is still the place to take your significant other! Or yourself! You are worth it & very significant!
We had an unpleasant experience with multiple servers and the food was low quality for the price. The dinner is a fixed $75/person and everyone in our group of 3 had to order the same selection in each category. This makes sense for the cheese and dessert course (because there is only one fondue pot for the table) but the dinner course is a griddle so everyone should have been able to choose their own meats. Throughout the meal, it was clear they were just delivering pre-plated portions for two even though we were a group of 3 (as was the table next to us). This was extremely frustrating- for $75/person I expect to have my own cream puff rather than trying to split the 2 provided three ways.
Service was great & the food was excellent. It fun to eat family style & cook the food as well. Great place for a special occasion or fun night out.
It was awesome. I haven’t been here in several years. She had never had fondue and loved the experience! And the food!
Not enough waitstaff. Started fondues and let them over cook before they returned to help.
Added a HUGE surcharge / service charge- we only had a group of three??!!😡
Served us a margarita and insisted it was the Mai Tai ordered,my friend knows the difference between tequila and rum!?
I’m general food was ok , definitely overpriced.
I don’t understand the 20% service fee on the bill. If that’s going to the wait staff then why do I tip and if it’s not going to the wait staff than it’s going to the owners and I find that uncalled for.
We had such a wonderful celebration at La Fondue! The staff were attentive and interested, the food was out of this world, it was a faultless experience from start to finish. Go to La Fondue for that luxury, personalized experience, as well as the rafts of cheese :)
Its been about 5 years since I lay are here - not what it used to be. Very bright and loud now. I think it might be understaffed, took a long time for service and I remember it being very service oriented before. There is now a $30 service fee added to your bill. No mention of it anywhere, no explanation. Probably will not go back.
Food was very good, we enjoyed it. However, despite having requested an area with AC, where we were seated was kind of warm.
Outstanding service, but restaurant is a bit "eclectic" - not fancy, not cozy, somewhat garish and dated - and tables are close together, which is problematic given COVID and the large, hot pots and pans necessary. Menu has changed since COVID and options are limited and prices are set ($75/person) and VERY high, especially given the very small portions and the fact that you're doing your own cooking.
The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive! I can’t wait to go back!
Lovely ambiance, attentive service. Fondue is perfect for date night! Delicious and fun to watch them make the fondue.
Food is good, but didn't understand the additional 20% service charge (in addition to tax & gratuity). It wasn't explained at all what it was for & seemed excessive.
Don't waste your money! La fondue is not what it used to be. It's way overpriced and the food quality has dropped significantly. You no longer can choose your individual tems, it's already pre-packaged items in only a few bundle choices. Cost now is $75 per person for a four-course experience. Definitely not the law fondue I used to know. Service was slow and inattentive at times. Will not be going back.
It was nice, but quite expensive, plus automatic service/tip charge of 20% to already steep menu was an unpleasant surprise, especially considering that we were just a family party of four, not a large group. Also, I wish they had a kid’s menu option, as paying $75 for an 8-year old’s dinner seems a little unreasonable…
Extremely poor experience. Room got very hot and the heat was unbearable. The manager was extremely rude when asked to accommodate outside for the dessert portion. We even offered to leave in the middle of the meal skipping dessert since it was too hot and the manager was like we won’t issue any refunds where we didn’t even ask for any refund.
The air condition was likely not working due to the heat and in hindsight they should have not seated anyone in this particular area which was only getting extremely hot. Servers were great but manager was extremely rude. I wish we got his name to post here. Seemed south Asian. No apologies or anything.
This has been our go to restaurant for years but won’t come back again.
