La Fondue - Saratoga
Great service, food was ‘meh’, ambiance amazing. Only bad thing was the families- way too small a venue for loud families.
Quick service and fine variety of food.
It was too hot. Wine did not get put in ice. Water glasses no ice.
La Fondue is one of my husband and I’s favorite spots. We have gone for years and it never disappoints! AMAZING food, great service, beautiful ambiance, and overall fantastic!
Love the cheese and chocolate... but they changed the base for Mediterranean cheese... very bitter tasting. I hope they go back to original, so much better....
I’ve been going to la fondue for years. I have noticed a slow and steady decline in food quality and taste — which is unfortunate. Meats taste obviously previously frozen, my once favorite salads tasted bland and fatty, and the cheese was not creamy, more rubbery and bland. Service was still great and impeccable, albeit slow.
the whole experience was wonderful. our waiter was great as well.
We've been coming to La Fondue for many years, since before my husband and I were married, and now we just celebrated our daughter's high school graduation!! It's always such a fun time, the service is stellar, and we never leave hungry haha ;-) We will be back!
Great restaurant for a celebration! The staff were very friendly and prompt. Food was quite good- the highlight being the cheese fondues!
We had a reservation for 7 and we were seated at a table for 6. We asked about our options to get a table or arrangement for something more comfortable and we were told there were no other tables or options (like two tables for 4 next to each other). Note that we made reservations a month ago. We had a couple Groupon certificates to redeem which was no problem. We were served water with no ice so it was like warm very quickly. The chefs salad was really good and enough to feed two people. The cheese fondue was good as well. The lighting seemed ok until the main course arrived that we needed to grill ourselves. I expected our entire meal to go two hours maybe a bit more. We finally finished and left just over 3 hours after we started. Some of the food was good, some probably would have been better with more light and something better than our phones to identify the meats/cooking times/sauces, a d it definitely would have been better with a more attentive wait staff. Overall, I will never take a big party there again and even if I just go with one other person, I will request far ahead that we get a table with light. That would hopefully make up for the lack of service.
Rod is an awesome server! We love him!
This was our first time here for our 3 year anniversary and we have been planning to come here for 2 years but never got the chance. All 4 courses were delicious 🤤 Our server was so polite and I cannot stress how amazing his work ethic was. We are very appreciative that we were able to have such a great experience , but most importantly unbeatable service. Thank you so much to Elijah and La fondue for making tonight so sweet and special. We will most definitely be returning Soon ❤️!!!!
We love going to La Fondue, however, on this night there was a table next to us that had at least 6 to 8 children that were VERY loud and the adults were not even trying to keep their noise level down. The children were looking over their booth at our table and nothing was done about it. This made conversation almost impossible and made us want to end our experience as soon as possible. Everyone in the section had to shout to be heard, which made it even worse. Our wait staff were amazing, however, they were being overly extended trying to take care of this one table. I would have liked to see the management staff do something to make sure that all diners were enjoying their experience.
Overpriced. They advertised a Groupon dinner -- their $325 "Le Freak" prix fixe with an "$80" bottle of wine. The "Le Freak" is OK -- lots of exotic meats (kangaroo, alligator, bison, etc.), but only one bite of each. And the "$80" bottle of wine -- I looked it up and it sells for $13.75 at retail. Good food, but not good value.
Excellent service, food was solid, clean candle lit dinner. No complaints. Happy wife happy life.
Host sat us 22 mins after the reservation and couldn’t care about the delay. We had stated it was our daughter’s graduation family dinner and there was no acknowledgment. Food and service during the meal was excellent but host and manager need to go back to school.
Good salad, but for what you get for the meal it's way over priced.
As always, had fun and came away stuffed. Ordered Le freak and a bottle of sparkling wine. Server, whom we've had before was excellent and attentive. Had a bit of fun with her trainee which added to the fun. Food was fresh and high quality. Gluten free friendly but be sure to mention it as their cheese blends have flour in it (will sub cornstarch, GF wine or broth for beer) and marinated meats have gluten in them as well as some of the sauces. Last bit of advice, pack your salads to go and don't be in a rush.
My wife and I very much enjoyed our evening. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and our servers were kind enough to take several pictures for us and offered us free champagne.
Outstanding as always - go to date night!!
La Fondue is a great place, had reservations at 8pm on sunday and we got there and waited 5 minutes then we got seated. Our waiter was very attentive and asked if there was anything wrong with our food. Overall was amazing!
Management was extremely rude. She literally was rude for no reason.
My sister and her husband came in town from St. Louis and were able to join me one night for dinner. We chose here, only the service was so incredibly slow. We left there totally frustrated, rather than relaxed or satisfied. It was a lot of money to spend to end up feeling so anxious and frustrated. The table stoves were mak-functioning and the waitress did not take the time to trouble shoot. Granted she has a LOT of tables on her own, but when you go out to dinner, this is not how you want to leave with a feeling of total exasperation we asked her to Tim up the stove that was NOT cooking anywhere near her projected times. My sister kept cutting into raw meat.
We finally took it into our own hands (literally my sister burnt her hand) and switched the pans around to the reverse burners. That solves the problem for that course. Then we had the same issue with the dessert and for some reason, the waitress came and turned both stoves off. We were just stunned and exhausted trying to cook the food with non-functioning stove tops.
Great experience. Set menu experience very rich. Barely function after all that much food !
Food was good although very over priced for having to cook it yourself. They made a mistake on our order that ended up costing us $60 more than it should and they would not take accountability for it. Never had that happen at a high end restraint like this before. We gave the, a reduced tip.
Always fun coming here, great food and great service.
We had a wonderful time. First time but will not be our last. Service and food was the best. awe had driven to the area to attend a concert that got canceled, but this fabulous dinner saved the night.
We had reserved a table, still had to wait 45 minutes. Cheese and chocolate fondues were best. Some meats on our “wild” selection for the main course had barbecue sauce that took away the taste and flavor of the meat completely.
Adam and Lindsey were amazing, they made the night a lot of fun. Food was outstanding, basically noah's ark in garlic butter. On a personal note, I overcooked the lobster which made me sad. That elk though - mmmmmmmm.
We tried the 4 cheese fondue and a variety of grilled meats. The cheese fondue a la carte seemed a little over priced so we went with the four course meal. The food was great and the meat seemed really fresh. It is a fun interactive meal that is worth the experience.
Our server, Chloe, was amazing. I’d go back for her alone.... but the cheese and chocolate fondue are also a huge factor in my decision to return.
This place is absolutely great! I was a bit sad that they took the beer/cheddar fondue off the menu, but it forced us to try something new and the 4 cheese was fantastic! Our servers were on it and always have a great time here. The lighting is a little dim (and I have perfect eyesight), which is necessary to make sure your chicken is fully cooked, but if that is my only qualm, then that's just me being picky. :)
I have been going here for years. The restaurant moved from the fine jester chairs to a larger more sophisticated comfortable ambiance. They have added more choices in the menu but it keeps its classic menu items for us long time customers. A romantic restaurant that keeps us coming back year after year
Good atmosphere, decent food and the staff was extremely helpful and cool. It’s pricey as expected in Saratoga area. Good wine list, low lighting and good for dates. Would return for special occasions only (mainly due to price) and definitely need a reservation.
The hostesses (Lindsey, Samantha and one other one that we didn’t catch the name of) were very rude and unprofessional. We walked in at 7:40pm and had reservations for 8pm but were not seated until close to 9pm. They had overlooked our reservation and had seated others that had reservations later than ours and when this was brought up to their attention there seemed to be no sense of accountability or ramification. We were just brushed off and told that we will be seated when they have a free table! The manager was supposed to come by and talk to us and that didn’t happen either. So all in all very poor service, food has gotten worse over the years, I guess it’s about making money now and not providing great service and good food.
Nice place, good food but we had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation made in advance.
We had a dinner reservation at 7:45. Arrived at the restaurant at 7:27 and were told they were clearing our table and that we’d be seated shortly. We were finally seated at 8:15. My husband had a conversation with an extremely rude manager about the wait, who basically told us we would have waited even longer without a reservation. We then decided to make a reservation at another place up the road, but were finally seated 5 minutes later. Not the way we wanted to start our dinner celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We were seated in a booth for four and our waiter. was knowledgeable and upbeat. We ordered two glasses of Prosecco and only one came to the table and we had to remind them that we ordered two. The salads were huge, the cheese fondue we liked a lot, the entree meats with lobster bisque were quite good as well. Before dessert/chocolate service, we were offered two glasses of complimentary champagne to help celebrate. Our chocolate had to be sent back because it burned on the first cooking. The pot simply was too hot, and the damage was done. They happily prepared another.
Overall, aside from our waiter, La Fondue was a bit of a disappointment. Not sure if we will return.
The "ambiance" was negatively affected by the noise level - the audio system volume was rather high, which led to guests having to talk rather loudly - so between the loud music and loud talking it was difficult to carry on a normal conversation. Otherwise - a great dining experience!
