La Fondue - Saratoga
Expensive but fun. Forces you to eat slowly what i need to do more often. Good choice of meats vegetables and the best chocolate.
It is always a fun place for a celebration. the iPad app for identifying the meat was a nice touch.
Our server was awesome.
Nice experience, but frankly it's WAY overpriced. The food was good, but the service wasn't as good as it's been before.
The food was ok. There was a crying baby in the restaurant. The waiter proposed his own tip which was really awkward.
Was great night out with friends. Servers were very friendly and engaging. Food was great.
I think it seems a bit pricey when food seems to be ok. I know your paying for the whole ambiance of dining and fun, though I guess I'm kinda over the whole experience of this type. Its been some time since I have been back. Its fine, but I remember now why I hadn't returned in sometime, it's a show and guess the show is not that fun anymore. Its not bad, just not my taste anymore! sorry La Fondue
Service seemed off. We had to ask for water. Items were dropped off but then no follow -up or checking in. We had to wave down somebody several times.
Polite servers, consistent good food quality.
Portions are large..We ordered for two for our party of four. Still a bit too munch food.
A fun and unique experience! Would definitely recommend for a nice group outing.
We’ve been going to LF for 15 years and this time we noticed the quality of the food had gone down. Pinwheels in salad had changed and shrunk considerably. Wild boar was absolutely NOT the same. Used to be the choice meat. Now not so much.
Since they changed owners a few years ago it just isn't the same. There are no substitutions. They NO longer have the canola oil to cook in, therefore no more batter, no more mushrooms with green goddess and batter cooked in oil. You can't cook batter in wine or broth.
The original order used to have a "chocolate only" time in the evening so if you want to come by for just chocolate you could. The current owner does not allow that.
The food was fabulous though. Service was okay. Our waitress had a helper and the helper served us more than the waitress did.
We reserved a table for 7 people and when we arrived they tried to seat us outside at two separate tables. that's not right. We are ONE party of 7 not two parties of 4 and 3. What were they thinking. Then they tried to seat us inside at a 6 person table. Sorry, doesn't work. We ended up in the "back" outside room at a table for 8. Much better, but what a catastrophe!
Like I said, the food was great and I will probably come back again but just not happy with the current owner.
too expensive and can’t make sense of to come again
Food was great as usual and our server Trevor was great!
We’ve been to La Fondue more than 20 times over the years and this time was the worst service we’ve ever received. It was something we thought about calling the next day to report. We felt completely pushed aside. We waited way too long for service. Once the cheese pots were ready, our server came over and added more cold water to buy some time and almost splashed the boiling water on my son. We love the restaurant for the food and usually the experience but this almost made us consider not returning.
Michele is seriously the best !! Amazing service she made the whole experience perfect.
Liked the classic way better for cooking meats a Beth like they use to o. vs now on a water grill .
Food is always excellent there, but there has been a small drop in the wait service.
Took to long between courses and usually we get water without asking.
Excellent service, really great food and a wonderful restaurant overall. Be prepared for parking to be a little tough, but they do offer valet. The hostess crew could be a little more pleasant and welcoming but it was more than made for up by how awesome and helpful our server was. Overall, great experience.
Just a night out, but as always a great dining experience.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughters 15th birthday.
The food was ok we felt lost the whole time with the menu and the waiter did not help. Everything wasn't explained right and food recommendations where bad. Over all not a good experience for the price.
My Girlfriend and I had the best time at La Fondue for Valentine's Day. The food was so good, and we ate so much; they almost had to wheel us out. Ashley and Chelsea took great care of us. It was a magical evening.
Way too expensive for what you get. If I’m going to pay $60/person...I would like it to be cooked for me to perfection. The wine, food and desserts are overpriced for what you get. We had fun going and the food was good but just not worth the money IMO.
Have been to this establishment at least 15 times but it seems like this time in particular they are really trying to rush you in and out. Service was friendly but overly attentive to the point that they wanted/volunteered to cook our food for us which was weird. Must have stopped by at least 20-30 times to turn up, down, or otherwise interrupt our meal which made the entire experience less enjoyable than normal.
Too dark inside. Waiter talked to fast. Should have explained things better Felt like we were being rushed.
They hurried us through dinner and I didn't think it was enough food for the cost
Great place for a date night
Great service, terrible value, poor lighting, mediocre food
It is smelly and overprice place. the food was just OK.
Way overpriced: $300 valentines night. Luckily my date was worth it, but the food was not.
We went for Valentine's Day and absolutely adored our experience. The cheese and chocolate fondues are to DIE for. The main course had a great assortment of meats and the lobster tail was insanely fresh and tasty. The sauces were good, the service was good, the salad was good, everything added up to an incredible night that we will remember for a long time. Thank you!
Elijah was an amazing server and we had a great romantic Valentine’s Day with delicious food!
A very good experience at the restaurant for the Valentine’s Day!
Where do I start. We have ate at La Fondue many times and love it . We go for special occasions as well as just for dinner. We have always had great experience, service and food. Except this time. First off, when I made The reservations I feel they should’ve told us there would be a set menu. That didn’t happen. We were sat at our table, asked if we wanted a glass of complimentary champagne. She then asked us which salads we wanted. We were all a bit confused. Since we were not informed of the set menu so we didn’t know what she was talking about. You would think that since we were confused our server would of explained. Nope she didn’t. She then brought our salads and cheese at the same time. Never did she ask us what we would even like to drink. At that time we felt super rushed. While eating our salad and cheese at the same time we then asked her if we could order drinks. Took a while for those. We weren’t even done eating our cheese and she asked us if we were ready for the grill, we said no. Well about two minutes later our grill showed up. We really felt super rushed now. After bringing out our meat to cook our table was still full of our cheese and dirty plates. Not good so far! Especially knowing what a good La Fondue experience is supposed to be. I could go on and on about the rest but I’m sure can imagine how it goes. This experience was so bad that I’m pretty sure my family and I will not be coming back. Paying $125 per person is not cheap, so yes I’m pretty upset with our experience.
What a terrible experience.
Food was good, table stakes, but portions we're visibly small.
Not really the problem though.
My wife and I were practically ushered out by the manager (while we were still having desert) because "there were people waiting for our table." Sounded like a them problem to me, but I wasn't about to ruin my Valentine's night out getting into a spat with such rude people.
Lesson learned, plenty of alternate (and better) places to go.
Could have been a romantic experience for valentine's day....however, we were rushed to finish our meal.
One hour into this event dining we were served the chocolate fondue along with our bill. We caught the waiter off guard by asking for coffees to go along with our dessert. Within 20 min we were finished...having paid a $400 bill and finishing the last sips of wine ... i was sliding over in the booth to get up when the manager came up to our table and asked us to leave because "they needed to seat the next table."
We have been coming every year for 16 years on our anniversary and have never been asked to leave so another table could be seated.
If the manager was observant and saw that we were wrapping up we could have had a lovely evening. Instead, the manager's lack of wisdom and customer service left us with a feeling that la fondue is now more about making money than it is giving the customer the ultimate dining experience.
Dont have event dining...charge 2 people over $400 for a special Valentines meal if you expect us to be done under 1 1/2 hours.
Experience and customer service over how much you can make on Valentines Day....please.
Awesome Valentine’s Day dinner. Very romantic and the booth was wide enough to sit us on the same side!
We used a groupon and it was a really good deal! Great and knowledgeable service! My only small complaint is that the room they put us in was super dark, which normally wouldn’t matter, but when you have to cook the food on the burner it’s more difficult. Other than that it was a really fun experience!
