Amazing food, and lots of it. Very wide variety of meats on the Le Freak dinner. All were good and interesting. Very expensive, but worth it for a special occasion and experience. Only real complaint was the ambient music - somewhat jarring.
We have been coming for a number of years but it had been awhile. We started, in addition to dining with friends, bringing our son and his bestie for special occasions when they were younger. They are now 17 but it was still a great time - great food and we can just enjoy the company of these two, now, young men.
This is our family go-to special place. Unique, fun, be prepared to leave VERY full.
We had the surf and turf and it was spectacular, but what really made the meal was the dessert. The tortoise fondue was amazing. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
I wish it was better. We didn't enjoy our meal or dining experience.
Great experience. Felt valued. Enough, not too much, attention from waiters. Food and experience great.
Fantastic service. Jessica did an amazing job.
Awesome unique experience
As always, food and service was great, went for our anniversary. This time, we chose fondue feast, mostly chose seafood which was super fresh using grilling method. Lots of food for 2, we took home our salads to eat another day. One of our favorite restaurants. Set aside a couple hours at least so you don't rush through the experience.
My one year anniversary with my girlfriend :)
We had made a reservation, and were seated punctually. Service was prompt. We liked the ambiance of the place, and the friendliness of the wait staff. They took the time to explain the various methods of cooking the Main course items like grilling, cooking in broth etc, as well as the menu options. One choice is a 4 course menu, and another is the cheese fondue + dessert (chocolate fondue). We selected the former and ended up with too much food - Salad, Cheese Fondue, Main course and dessert. The dipping sauces for the main course were excellent. Since one of us is a vegetarian and the other is not, the server offered to let us split the main course according to our choice, which was good. The only negative was that for each course we got a different server, and information we had initially provided about our allergies was forgotten!
Had a great time in a double date. So much food but all so yummy. The service was amazing. Very attentive.
Our dining experience was exceptional. Nate, Larry, and the entire staff made dinner incredible for our daughters birthday celebration.
Great company, great service, great feast with endless wine equals a memorable evening. Celebrated a birthday. My friend’s first experience at LaFondue and you delivered.
My daughter chose La Fondue for her 13th Birthday dinner. This has been our "go to" restaurant for special occasions for years - we have NEVER been disappointed! Great atmosphere, amazing food, and our whole family loves it...probably wouldn't be great for younger kids, though, as it is a long dining experience, and is very interactive.
With a fixed price menu at significantly more than $100 per person, it is very tacky to charge extra for a simple soda refill. That detracted from an otherwise nice experience, and really left a bad taste in our mouths.
Service was slow and inattentive. Perhaps overworked server? But also not very friendly. Maybe just a bad day?
Really lovely ambience, food and service. We'll be coming back
We were eating before going to Montalvo. The service was good and the reservation system surprisingly easy, even for a low tech such as myself. My friend and I both have hearing loss/hearing aids. If I had know there was a quieter section for seating; I would have requested that.
Food was great and service was superb. We'll definitely go back again.
They really have this place set up for parties of two. The meal is four courses portioned for 2. Salad, fondue, bbq, then chocolate fondue. Delicious. Fun. The decor is out of this world and the staff is enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. It’s a bit pricy, I did see a pretty amazing looking Groupon, but thought, rightly, that it would be too much food for us. We ended up spending $120. Which was pretty low end for the menu options, since we each just had a glass of the house red (which was delicious).
My family enjoyed it!! The food & service were very good. Once the waiter came to know that we were there for a b'day celebration, we were offered complimentary champagne!!
We are always big fans of La Fondue. It is wonderful for a special couple's evening or for a group to get together and enjoy and nice long evening of fun (cooking) and conversation. The food is always wonderful and the experience enjoyable.
Great food but not worth the price at all!
I’d only go for special occasions.
We had multiple people come and change the heat on our table and it was either too low to cook or it burned our food. They didnt give us oil for our food until we were almost done cooking and they also didn't leave us any info about what meats were what even though every table around us was given a "cheat sheet" that explained everything. We went for a birthday and left in utter dismay that we were treated so poorly. Both people that attended are currently or have been in the food industry and the service was so appauling that my girl started crying on the way home on her F*cking birthday. I do not suggest this restaurant to anyone. I paid almost $300 including tip for 2 people expecting an amazing experience to end an incredible day and looking back, we should have just gone to Taco bell.
Great place to go for a special occasion! Ambiance is awesome, service is outstanding...a bit expensive, but it's worth it.
All time favorite for last 25 years, can never go wrong for a romantic occasion or family celebration.
The food was fantastic as was the service and atmosphere. A great choice for a special occasion such as an anniversary, birthday, etc. Using a Groupon for the Le Freak package allowed me and my wife to sample some entree items we probably wouldn't have otherwise been brave enough to try.
This was our second time dining here. We were a party of four, and the tables only have one burner so you all have to agree at the table on a cooking method. For the Cheese and chocolate fondue they allow two ports at the table for two different fkavors, however they can only prepare one at the table because it needs to be full on the burner. That is understandable, the disappointment ting part is that the server both times said the other fondue was that the server said the other fondue was being prepared in the back “and will be right out” and it took more than 20 minutes for the second cheese fondue to come, and likewise for the chocolate. The server seemed to be too busy with many tables or was gone for longer times , and our salads got dropped at the table before we even had our beverage. Several fondue sticks we were given were dirty, and so were the glasses. The manager was apologetic, but looked inexperienced and didn’t solve any of the service issues/delays. For a $600 bill we paid, they didn’t even show much concern or give us any considerations at the table or on the check. Not going back.
We came to La Fondue for my daughter's 16th birthday at her request. We did have plans later that night, so we let our server know who did his best to move things along quickly. Plan on spending a minimum of an hour and 45 minutes if you do all 4 courses. 4 courses include salad, cheese fondue, meat fondue or grill cooking and chocolate fondue for dessert. I'll start with the salad. We always order a salad and then regret it. It is too much salad for a four course meal. 75% of the portion served was left over and it is just plain wasteful. The salads are mediocre, and would be best rethought. Cheese fondue was excellent and our server was deftly skilled in making and the accompanying dippers, fruit, veggies and bread are fresh and great. Things that I wouldn't even think of, like pickled onions make this a treat. The grilling meat was next, we chose several items from seafood to steak and although the presentation could be a bit better, the meat and veggies were fresh and the girls had a great time. Chocolate fondue was next and never disappoints. We had a fun and great meal. Wish they would rethink their salads, minimize the menu and be quicker about moving guests through. Other than those minor tweaks, this is a great place!
food was good but the attention bad. the waiter took very long to serve, ask what we want, etc. We waited too long between courses and nobody stopped by and take more drink order, not to mention the check.
Bday dinner for my son, kids love it
Fondue is a fun, long meal, which is great to share with friends. La Fondue is more expensive than Melting Pot. Service is at best mediocre, and the wait staff expects 18 - 22% on a very high bill. In Europe, where service is included for the most part, fondue is a more pedestrian meal, which is moderately priced. Using a groupon for four, buying an $80 bottle of white wine (one in our party could not drink the included sparkling white), some up charges, and a $70 tip, we were $444 for 4. At this price point, it is a special occasion meal to share with friends whom you want to spend a few hours catching up.
I will spend $111/person again.
Great food and amazing surroundings. That nice service was a little slow even though they were not busy. But nonetheless it is always amazing!
We had a great night with great food and great service... definitely a 5 star experience :)
The cheese and chocolate we got were great. Service seemed a little scattered but overall it was great.
Great ambience, amazing food and exceptional service. Definitely going there again.
Ok so yes they have shrunk the portions and yes the bill has not shrunk. That being said the quality of the food is amazing and the atmosphere is just cool. I love this place and it is still my go to for a special night out. I just don’t feel like I’m going to die after I finish the chocolate fondue anymore.
