La Fondue - Saratoga Ratings and Reviews
La Fondue is a gem in Saratoga. For those who want to get away for the evening and enjoy cheese fondue in one of the various themed rooms and also perhaps dabble in some surf and turf or other exotic meats (not kidding) this is the place to go
The service from Rod was fantastic and he ensured that we were attended to promptly and made sure that we were never without some portion of food in front of us. Even with the restaurant being relatively crowded he was able to check in on us to make sure that we were happy!
Adam the manager came up to us at the beginning of our dinner and explained the menu process (which can be quite confusing if you’ve never been there before)
Great experience, delightful service and a fantastic dinner!!
This is seriously my favorite restaurant on the planet. It is a special occasion type place - not a weekly place you'd want to visit just because so much food is consumed during the meal. But I love it - everything about it...would highly recommend it to anyone. The food is creative as well as delicious, the service amazing, the ambiance funky and inviting...I just can't say enough about it.
We went for my sister's birthday. The fondue was amazing. We had a great time. Service was great.
They had a pretty good wine selection. I was surprised that they just poured full glasses of wine immediately after opening instead of having someone at the table check the quality before serving the table.
The food, service & ambience are all very very good! This is by far our favorite restaurant, and we visit every chance we get. We’ve spent 5 anniversaries, countless birthdays, multiple double dates with friends at this fine restaurant! And will continue to do so! Looking forward to the next visit!
We look forward to La Fondue every time. But this time it just wasn't as good. We were freezing the entire time with the AC blowing at us. Also, the filet taste was off, and didn't taste right.
Maybe some changes are being made. Otherwise, the cheese and chocolate fondue with all the fixings was awesome!
Our time was great. We had had a previous visit that wasn't that great, and the manager, Larissa Sanchez, invited us to come back again. I am so glad we did. The food was excellent (as always) and our server, Jess, was fantastic. She was very attentive and contributed to a great dining experience. Highly recommended place.
We came here with a Groupon deal. $150 for four course, including a bottle of champagne for a total full price menu item of $325. Very good deal. Catch is, it can only be used Monday - Thursday.
Few fondue specialty restaurants in the area. This one has impeccable service, and the cheese and chocolate fondue was delicious. We ordered the four cheese fondue. The consistency was perfect and they were quite accommodating about my no alcohol requirement. So they substituted the white wine in the cheese fondue for veggie broth.
The grill was ok - assorted meats of all their meat offerings with some exotic meats such as elk, alligator and kangaroo. It's hard to tell which of the red meats you're eating as the platter is so big and the meats are not individually marked. I would suggest use a toothpick flag to mark the meats. It was a good experience, but the cuts were so small, they dried out quick or became overcooked too fast.
Chocolate fondue was delicious. We got the choctastic, which i think is a little thicker than a typical chocolate fondue. Good quality chocolate.
This is expensive side for a date, so I would probably go back for VERY special occasions, and that too, only for the cheese and chocolate fondue.
Four star is for the cheese and chocolate fondue which were really delicious, and the great customer service.
Although rather pricey, it was a very unique and one of a kind experience. Had the "Le Freak" which comes with everything--so much food, we couldn't finish the salad or the main meat dishes in order to save space for the luscious desserts. Definitely recommend trying this place once in your life and if you can get a living social or groupon for it, even better!
We've been coming for YEARS and sadly the service suffered when the ownership changed. It has been very inconsistent since, however our last visit was fantastic! Probably our best experience ever at LaFondue. We were so pleased & hopeful that this trend will continue.
We had a coupon for a Le Freak dinner for two with a bottle of French sparkling wine which is a taste of everything on the menu. The salad and cheese fondue (your choice of 7 or 8 options) were delicious. Over 20 samples of meat, poultry, and fish came next. While we were grilling our meats, I was wishing I had a map to remember all the types of protein we were tasting. Stuffed at this point but we moved on to dessert. We chose the Decadent One (from a list of 5 or options) which was delicious. Probably should have had some coffee as well. All around a very pleasant dining experience. Plan on two hours to enjoy your meal.
Me and my boyfriend go here every other week it is very expensive but we love the food, we are 18 and the servers didn't pay much attention to us, I understand we look young but we are still paying good money, also the bread was stale last time we went. but again we love the food.
Outstanding service with Adam. Other staff were incredible and attentive as well. Amazing suggestions such as wine, sauces, meats, chocolates, cheeses, etc. to complement the dinner given by Adam. I completely trust his expertise and can rave about his service. Looking forward to going back.
My daughter wanted la fondue before her her flight back to college. As always, the food and service was amazing. Unfortunately, their bathroom was out of order, so we had to cross the street to use the bathroom at another restaurant. Very strange, and not comfortable.
We have now been here for my daughter’s 16th and 17th Birthdays. Everyone was extremely accommodating for our large party and made both celebrations fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We have also been on other occasions and each time went away very happy. I would highly recommend. Thank you La Fondue!
We celebrated my daughter's 28th birthday here over the weekend. We've been coming here since she was 5 every year for her birthday. Since the restaurant has changed ownership it's really gone down hill as far as food and service. It's not the elegant dining experience we used to enjoy.
Unfortunately, our service was pretty lacking. I had to ask repeatedly for a diet coke refill (and really, after paying $216 for two fondue feasts, they can't afford to offer free fountain drink refills? Kind of ridiculous) , and didn't get an extra skewer to cook meats until we were nearly done. I didn't get the welcoming feeling that our waitress wanted to deal with the single woman with 4 10-12 year olds celebrating September birthdays....so while the kids had fun still, I didn't feel like we got $258 worth of good service. Not worth it.
La Fondue turned out to be all I had heard of and everything I expected. There are many choices for the kind of Fondue you'll want, and entrees you can select from. I think my Fondue is better than the one we tried, but theirs wasn't bad. The meats we chose (surf and turf) and sauces/dips that went with them were all delicious. Each meat required a different cooking time, so I'm glad I had my smart phone with its timer to grill them all "just right." Two disconcerting things: one was the volume of the background music--way too loud. The second was the way we were sat in close quarters to other patrons, despite the restaurant being quite empty. This made things easier for our server, but ruined any sense of privacy or intimacy, which was too bad because I was there for a romantic dinner. Our dinner for two was fairly conservative and came in at $200, before tip, so plan accordingly. I considered La Fondue to be a once-in-a-lifetime splurge and that might turn out to be the case. I would, however, go back for a special person or celebration .
