La Fondue - Saratoga
La Fondue in Saratoga has a lovely, verdant and pampering location that makes it ideal to stop in at for many people.
You can get plenty of different types of fondue from cheese to beef to chocolate at La Fondue. Choose a complete meal or order à la carte. Selections include chicken, vegetables, as well as more exotic meats like the wild thing, which includes alligator, antelope, buffalo, kangaroo, wild boar and venison. There are also surf and turf options. There is an array of different salads, as well. For dessert at La Fondue, many chocolate versions are served with fudge, amaretto, Frangelico and different liqueurs.
Great service and food but wish we could have sat inside as requested
Worst Valentines Day experience I have ever had. The entire experience felt like and express train to get us in and out as fast as they could. They gave us our salad to go when we never asked for that. We were never asked what we wanted to drink, had to flag someone down for that. The food ehh, especially for the 400+ dollars that we spent. The topper was the end when we still had our drinks at the table when we were basically asked to leave the table because they needed it. At this point my girlfriend began to cry. I won’t be able to get this night back and will forever have this memory. I would not recommend this for another couple.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Everything went well until we went out to the Valet to retrieve our car. He had our keys but couldn’t locate our car. Was very off putting. He did finally find it, but I really didn’t want to pay for the service.
Service and design was very unique but food we had no taste at all ( pre fix holiday menu ) we did like their salads and deressing but cheese or meats no taste even with the deeps.
Romantic setting. Service was 2nd to none. Ambiance was perfect even with the challenging weather. Definitely will come back again and I shall spread the word about La Fondue. Did I mention the service/server were that good ;-)
We have enjoyed La Fondue for the proximity to our home and the wonderful food quality. However last time we went it was poor service and we had some concerns. So per the mangers/owners mention we emailed before we came in “so they could ensure a better time”. I emailed three times and called around the same, no responses. We had the same bad experience but this time the food was just wrong. The two pieces of mangled crawfish/ lobster smelled so fishy and tasted as fishy as they smelled. Consequently it ruined every other protein as they placed it in the pan first. Not good when your filet and chicken taste like fish.... Even the fondue was fishing with the very low quality crab used in it. The server was kind and sweet but with the glitter heart pen and hanging heart headband, it was more reminiscent of an Olive Garden Server than a fine dining $350 meal for two. The Restraunt was so dark, we ended up eating half way cooked or raw meat. The cook times recommended were so strangely off, perhaps they were made up. Overall terribly experience, no owners inside like it used to be. It appears that the Restraunt has lost its edge and perhaps they lost their passion. The food was the worst I have ever had on a special occasion. So disappointed for the lack of communication and poor experience.
AMAZING food and AMAZING service. Everything tasted delicious. I would definitely go back.
This was my first time here having heard about how romantic it was I took my BF who came from Canada to it for our late Anniversary dinner. The food was AMAZING our waitress was superb and everything was incredibly romantic and all I thought it would be. We did the La Romantique and it was MORE than enough food for three people let alone two with he chocolate fondue at the end so perfect. They even gave us a free toast to our anniversary.
The waiteress was great and the whole experience was even better
Great food, great waitress, romantic. We came here to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary & so worth it! Everything was just perfect!
Food was amazing and our server Nate was helpful and friendly!
Adam made our Birthday Celebration Special. I have been here before and was happy to see we had his table. Cajun cheddar fondue and the Decadance chocolate are the best. I have been a loyal customer since the 90’s at their old location. I realize portions and pricing do change with the times. Would recommend for any special occasion.
Main course food was was bland and tasteless!
Multiple waiters caused confusion in ordering, food delivery, menu explanations.
Multiple waiters would constantly turn up/turn down burners, making tabletop cooking difficult.
Waited up to 10 minutes between the time a new fondue pot was placed on the table and the actual food was delivered!
We felt ignored at times.
We most likely will not return to La Fondue for quite a while.
Generally we all enjoyed it. We dined with 4 adults, celebrating a b-day, the b-day girl has Celiac disease so she can't eat gluten. She brought her own gluten free bread but it was clear that the kitchen and staff were not familiar with the disease so we had to make numerous requests. The server and helper were nice. There isn't a full bar (beer and wine only). We had a Groupon for 4 "Le Freak" which was 65% off. It's a nice variety of food. Each couple shared 1 salad (Spinach) and had them box 1 salad to go (because they are quite large and there is a lot of food). The main course has so many meats that it's hard to keep track of what you are eating. My Husband and I feel that for the price we would prefer to go to a restaurant that cooks our food, serves us and has a full bar.
My husband and I had a great experience at La Fondue. The hostesses and servers were all so kind and mindful of my allergies and never made me feel like I was a burden.
In addition to the great service, the food was also super tasty!
Thanks to everyone who made our anniversary awesome. :)
We will definitely be coming back!
I love this place! Best fondue ever. We will definitely be back
Love this place. The only issue is that most romantic small tables are too close to each other and you don't get enough space.
My first time at La fondue, I loved the place. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely go back. I will also recommend to all my friends and family.
We finally tried this place after wanting to go for years. The food was amazing! The real star here was the service. Our waiters were so attentive and patient. Just the right amount of interaction.
This time we decided to just go with the cheese fondue that comes with the salad and then go straight to the chocolate fondue. It was the perfect amount of food. The meat is great and all but it is so much food. I will say that you also don't smell as bad when you leave because you don't have to personally cook meat. This place is awesome!
Adam is the most amazing server. We have had him every year on out anniversary for the past 5 years .
La Fondue is a great restaurant with impeccable service. Our server was incredible and let us stay to finish our meal after the restaurant had already closed with no pressure whatsoever. Best double date ever.
We had the best experience. We did have a little bit of a wait but the manager came over and gave us a round of drinks! We will definitely be back!!
We order a table onlne and we got accepted an hour later.
I asked for a table with light and I got a table in the dark
Everything was really good, the only downside is that even though we had reservations we were seated 25 minutes late, and we weren’t the only ones.
Service was amazing he was very attentive and friendly making it a great night out for my sisters birthday.
Great! Not overly formal- lots of fun!
Open table kept canceling and rescheduling my reservation without asking me. Restaurant couldn’t find me reservation at the right time
Yes love it! Awesome food - be sure to go hungry and no dieting - you don't want to miss anything!!
Lovely experience! Much better than the last time when we sat next to a family with kids all on their devices with sound on. Service on the verge of being too good! Very attentive. Ordered a combo dinner that easily fed 3 people. Only misstep was sending bananas to our table when that was our only dietary request!
A suburb dining experience as always. We enjoy celebrating at La Fondue especially on a M, T, or W when we can bring a favorite bottle of wine without a corkage fee. We start across the street for a cocktail while our wine decants and then enjoy our favorite La Romantique combination dinner!!! Wonderful as always.
Made a reservation and still had to wait 25 mins to be sat. Our table was plastic yard furniture, very uncomfortable. Service was very slow and hard to get any regular attention.
Annual Birthday dinner.
Love this restaurant and it’s fun to go with friends.
Our review is colored by the fact that we didn't allow enough time to enjoy the entire experience -- partly due to length of dinner and partly due to lack of consistent waitstaff attention. It started poorly when we could barely read our menus as the room/table was so weakly light while the music was set too loudly to discern the waitress' script descriptions. The food was okay but I'd refrain from ordering any seafood in the future -- it was not of high quality, the scallops being exceptionally poor . The cheese course was great. The chocolate dessert dipping condiments were stale, but the chocolate was great. All-in-all for $138 dinner with no drinks it represents a fair/poor value unless you love the environment. In summary, allow at least 2hours for dinner and don't expect to be able to see when your food is cooked.
Amazing experience - highly recommended!!
I was under impressed. There are no organic options at all. The best course was the meat course. The service was ok. We had a waiter in training who did not heat up our fondue properly. When we asked if the fondue was ready, the experienced waitress said yes. However it was still cold. We had to wait a while and it turned out the grill wasn't up high enough. Also our waitress talked so fast I guess she was in a hurry.
The bread for the fondue was really average. No special types of bread.
I would really like to see higher quality salad - organic options for meat and produce. The chocolate fondue had snickers to dip. I don't want any crappy candy, use organic chocolate please! I would not go here again. Nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Love the many choices available in all the fondue categories. Appreciate the consistency in food quality and service. Always leave full and highly satisfied. Great for any special occasion.
Every person that was a part of serving us did a great job, no complaints there. There was a variety of options for food, but other than how fun fondue is nothing we ate was that impressive. The ambiance is interesting in that different areas of the restaraunt have different themes, my guess for ours would be “sexy catholic torture chamber in Morocco”. It was all very fun... except maybe they could change the music. The playlist bounced around between random genres and had bizarre selections that we laughed at many times throughout the meal. Still will go back though, it’s a fun experience to celebrate something!
Amazing place for amazing food! It’s a wonderful time and I love this place!
