First off don’t choose an an outside table unless it’s a booth. There is a slope to the floor that was very uncomfortable. We were there 10 min before anyone came back to check on the room. After we changed to the dining room and met our waitress Chelsea & Assistant Sammie everything changed! They were FUN, Attentive, and great with suggestions. We ordered the “La Freak “ from the tasting menu. What a great experience & adventure that was! Normally $350 per person but the Monday to Thursday price was $95 and it was well worth it!
First of all, how did they know it was my birthday? I didn't tell them. That was weird. I checked my OpenTable account profile and my birthday isn't on there.
Fun dinner experience. Patio was enclosed but really cold!!! I miss doing the old fashioned fondue where you cook meat in hot oil. Maybe that's too dangerous. I tried the grill this time but will try one of the other cooking methods next time. We had fun and will be back again.
Great food and excellent customer service from our waiter
It was fantastic the food was excellent
It was a great time. Food is great, service is excellent. A great place for any special occasion!
Everything was amazing, I just needed a small side of rice to go with the meat we ordered.
Wonderful first time experience to celebrate my wife's birthday! Glad we went with the 4-course! Bravo to the staff for making us feel so welcome!
Always a nice experience!!! Will come back again and again.
I was planning on leaving a good tip. We got our cheese and chocolate but had to wait for the food to dip. The thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth was later in the night looking at the bill and there was a 20% fee tacked on for no reason. With that and the tip I left I paid roughly 50% of the bill total. This is in really poor taste. I will not be going back there.
We inexplicably had three servers but all were outstanding and we had the best service. Loved the cheese and chocolate fondue. Took the servers suggestions and they were spot on. Fun vibe and interior. As first timers, we had a great time experiencing something new and delicious. Worth the almost hour drive to Saratoga.
We went for my birthday and was amazing!!!
Very bad experience, we went for dinner for the first time. The waiter was impatient and hardly explained the menu, the cooking process and all the options , we felt like she was annoyed when we asked questions. Very expensive and we will not come back. The only positive thing was the chocolate fondue.
Too dark and couldn’t read the menu. The food was ok. Not much food. Probably 2-3 pieces each. Fondues were good. Waitress kept asking if we wanted a refill on our soda. We said yes and then got a bill of $3.00 each for 4 refills. Unbelievable that they’re so cheap they wouldn’t refill a soda. Then they tacked on a group gratuity and said we could add one layer for her. $28.00 for the group gratuity. Different since the new owner took over.
We have always loved going here. But now the last two times there, the experience was not what it used to be. Service and cleanliness have really gone downhill. For what you pay, I expect more. Food is still great. They have just kind of ruined the experience of it.
The service was probably one of the worst I've ever experienced at a restaurant. It took 25 minutes for us to get our first drinks. Our food arrived an hour after we arrived. Everything was just slow. We were a party of 3 and it took us 2.5 hours from start to finish. To top it off, the food was very mediocre. For the price that they charged, I expected much better. Quite disappointing indeed.
Worst service ever and bad ambience!
We have been to La Findue
First I don't know why there is outdoor seating available on Open Table when they don't have any.
Service was slow, even had to ask for water. We felt ignored by our server. Food was ok but too pricey for what you got. Will not be going back ever and would not recommend this place. Very disappointed.
My husband and I have been coming to La Fondue for at least 20 years. Sadly, it isn't quite what it used to be. From waiting for our drinks to non existent water refills. We are hoping this is a one off. The diners close to us got fed up waiting and left.
The service and food were excellent as usual. Awesome place to splurge for a special occasion. This night was a lot noisier than our previous visits as we were seated by a large group people causing everyone to have to talk louder.
My boyfriend and I came to celebrate his birthday. This was our first time coming here and we will be coming back. Our server was personable and very helpful. Definitely recommend!
Great customer service
Great food, great restaurant to celebrate our anniversary
Terrible service, I read reviews that said the same but after going to LaFondu many times over the past 15 years I thought “how bad could it be?” Now I know, really bad. Extremely slow service, dismissive, rude staff.
Servers were very attentive and accommodating. It was our anniversary and they asked if it was a special occasion. Treated us to a glass of champagne and sparkling cider (for the non drinker and minor).
Thanks for the amazing service!!! Dinner was amazing!! Thank you Chloe and Gabriella for making mine and my fiancé dinner experience that much better!!
From start to finish! We check in and they seat us immediately, we think - awesome! Then we realize we’re being seated first table at the restaurant, literally next to the hostess. I must have heard her ask, “do you have a reservation” 200 times. This was all just more annoying that anything.
Our server, was Ashley. Oh what a peach she was 🤦♂️
She asked if we’ve been there before, we said yes many times. Asked if we needed help with the menu, we said no - we just need a few minutes to decide. She then says, ok then let me explain how the menu works….like really?! I guess working during Covid makes you not able to understand when people need time?
We place our order: surf and turf with lobster bisque. We get our salads, cheese, this went through mostly painlessly - but overall not worth commenting on. Then our main course comes, and we begin. After about 2 minutes I tell my wife I was pretty sure this was supposed to come with crab legs not scallops. And this was the main reason we got it with the lobster bisque this time, I wanted to try it with the crab. She goes to the table next to us to check on them, abs walks away. I stopped her and asked her about the crab and immediately answers - yea the chef substituted for scallops because were out of crab….ummm….ok, don’t you think we should have been made aware of that when we ordered a $200+ dinner? She has a complete attitude with us, like rolling eyes, voice inflections, etc…totally condescending! I said please have your manager come by.
This guys comes while I had to run to the restroom, so my wife talks with him. I come back and he’s just sounding kind of like a “yea, yea, yea” person. Like you’re explaining everything that transpired and he’s just trying to shut you up so he can get back to TikTok. Fine whatever they swap the scallops for some steak, and take away the lobster bisque. We’re annoyed, but we are content and eat our food.
There’s more…reach out for more info.
I was disappointed by the test of the meat. Especially the lamb. did not taste like lamb at all.
64 th birthday
The ambiance is a cool vibe and there are great photo opportunities. The cheese fondue and salads were the best. Pricey and added sur charges they said were for covid relief?
We had 6 (!) different servers come to our table and it wasn’t clear that there was good communication amongst the staff as to who was bringing what. Our original server Chloe rushed through an introduction asking us if we would know what we wanted to order. When we said we just needed a few minutes, we didn’t see her until much later.
After waiting 25 minutes before we could place our order with someone else (recall that Lafonda says they have a 90 minute turnover time for each table), a third server was about to start the cheese fondue, poured the liquid in the Fondu pot but never returned. After 10 min, the fourth Server noticed it that we were waiting and started preparing the fondue but realized the kit was not complete and went to the kitchen, then came back and and finish it up.
Chloe then returns (one hour has passed by this time) and says “oh great, I see you’re all taken care of”.
Fifth server comes by to ask what our dessert order is and we tell them they have taken the menu away, can we please see it. Never returns.
Sixth server then realize we are waiting and actually brings the menu so we can order.
The other tables next to us had more continuity with their server, Chloe.
Great experience and tasty food, many options so will be coming back for more!
The food and service were excellent. Chelsea and her team went above and beyond in making a memorable dining experience.
The meal was ok. Nothing special. Service was good. Seems like we were at a Korean BBQ. The thing that I hated the most was the 20% surcharge and the 20% tip. Crazy. Beware.
So professional and luxurious!! Me and my family always have a great time there
Terrible food and service
Unique boutique restaurant with amazing food and superior service
Always a great treat to celebrate a special occasion!
Excellent food and service. Great experience. Good to splash out for a special occasion.
When we first got there we were being seated in a busy dining room. I asked to be moved to an area with not so many people. I did write in my reservation I was celebrating my 21st anniversary. So at first I was a little disappointed. I was happy the hostess moved us to a room that looked like a couple's dining area. This was much nicer and more comfortable for us. Our waitress and waiter were very nice and the service was great. The food was really good too. We loved the the cheese fondue, cooking our meat and the chocolate fondue. The prices were about what I expected but I was surprised that a service charge had already been added to our bill. There is an option afterwards to add an additional tip beyond the service charge. We added an additional tip to the bill because we liked the service we received.
