I really hate that I have to put this review. I wanted to really like this place. But as soon as we walked in half the menu was not available, which was disappointing since me and 5 of my girlfriends were really looking forward to their food. Their food arrived, super late. Which was odd since there was barely anyone in the restaurant. One of my friends found a rubber band in her rice dish and that was the end of it for her. We all got our dishes and honestly it became hard to eat the food. Then the staff at the restaurant basically ignored us. They made no eye contact and left us alone, until we asked for the check. When the check arrived we were charged a full amount. But we felt they should remove the dish from the check our friend ordered and didn't eat. So they removed it but the wrong amount, then proceeded to charge the 20% gratuity. Honestly, why should we tip them if they don't provide optimal service? And after we left, we noticed that their food safety sticker was pending. That fu**ing sucked to see that. We wasted our money and time here.

We were visiting NY this year instead of Puerto Rico.. La Fonda was the next best thing! Food was amazing! The sweet plantains were EVERYTHING! We were staying in Tribeca, and it was well worth the hike up north! Do not hesitate.. RUN now!! You must try this place out!

Amazing place. We both loved the food. My gf is vegetarian and there were some DELICIOUS vegan empanadas that I myself am excited to go back and order again. And that says a lot because I'm not vegetarian myself. The owner was friendly and spoke to us briefly about the artwork that I was admiring. This place is just great!

Such a great spot! Amazing Mexican dishes and good service. They were very efficient and food came out quickly and with flavor!
