I would recommend La Fisheria. There was an interesting selection of food items on the menu and the dishes were good. Service was excellent. There was live music. The ambience was very colorful and lively. Very enjoyable experience.
Only downside was the cost of valet-$10. That seemed very high.
Food was delicious but service wasn't spectacular. Took several minutes to get our margaritas. Loved the colorful setting.
Went for a Houston Restaurant Week dinner meal... loved it. We will be returning to try new dishes in the future.
AMAZING! Wonderful service, food, drinks, and decor. Would go again and again!
Enjoyed our visit, easy parking, good food, pleasant overall.
Just friends enjoying one another
The food is amazing, the service is outstanding. Prices a little high but worth it. Hopefully that part of town develops a little more commercial spots. But it is safe around there.
Great atmosphere. Food was excellent! We didn’t go for happy hour, but their specials looked good! Restaurant week selection was great!
Dinner with in-laws
Everything was wonderful.
The service we received was outstanding! Not to mention the food and drinks! I will definitely be returning!
No for brunch. Lack of variety for the price. For what they are offering at this brunch $25 dollars its reasonable, $35 dollars seems overpriced when compared to other brunch places in Houston. I don't see the brunch being successful that maybe why the place was almost empty.
My husband and I dined at La Fisheria to celebrate my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience- the dining room, the music, the food. Everything was amazing.
We started our meal with mango-habanero margaritas (amazing!) and the ceviche trio. The ceviche was delicious and the trio allowed for us to sample each style. For dinner, we both had fish, which was done to perfection.
So, when I made the reservation I had selected that we were celebrating a birthday, but not that it was mine. Somehow the waitress (who was just as sweet and knowledgable as you can get) figured out it was mine. And- the staff came out singing in full celebration, with a sombrero. We had no idea, so much fun, and my husband enjoyed it more than he should have ;)
We highly recommend!
Overall good. Would go back . Good location and friendly staff.
Ambiance is very lively and makes you feel you are at a beach. Poblano dip and our tamale with corn and shrimp was delicious and a little bit on the expensive side.
We decided to take a chance on La Fisheria to celebrate the birthday of my husband and it was a great choice! Everything turn out perfect!
Loved the environment! Very friendly staff and delicious food. It was a great place to celebrate my birthday. The live music was a nice touch too.
We decided to give the restaurant a second chance after very poor service on Mother’s Day a few years ago. We attributed the poor service to the overwhelming crowds most restaurants experience on these special dates. To our surprise, we experienced the same poor service on an ordinary weekend. Despite a high waiter to table ratio, wait staff seemed distracted and more interested in chatting with each other than being attentive to patrons/guests. Good food, terrible service, would not recommend and will definitely not be going back.
Not great. Overpriced under delivered. Stuck us im the back room that smelled like cleaning chemicals and looked like a storage room.
Food was good, the negative was the smell of pine sol or the like while having dinner, not pleasant. I’m very sensitive to chemicals so that smell was so strong, it gave me a headache. They should not clean the floors with these type of chemicals, it isn’t conducive to a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your food.
Unfortunately the $34 steak was not very high quality and when i politely said I didn't like it, the waiter apologized but didn't offer anything else, like a dessert or coffee. Left a bad taste in my mouth, especially for the price.
I went on a Sunday afternoon with family and friends. First thing we order is micheladas and they had no more mix for it. We order then beer and it took about 20 min for them to bring them and the wrong kind were served. We order then food and 55 minutes after we continued waiting while the waiter kept ignoring us. After all that food was okay- not great. The bill tho was outrageous for the terrible experience and okay food that you can find in many places in Houston. Not going back- absolutely not recommending it.
Not only did our waitress have a major attitude problem but she was never around. We had to ask 3 staff members including the manager for a second drink and it took forever to come and they weren’t even busy. Also one of our plates came out cold and they took 30 min to bring it out again. They food was okay but due to the quality of service and ambiance I am not going back.
Good food, very loud owing to tile floors. Somewhat inattentive service.
Food was good but dessert not so great, the Churro still had raw dough in it. The waitress was new and did not offer good service. For example she did not clear our table before bringing dessert. Overall an okay place.
The food was excellent and the service was great! Definitely going back.
A bit overpriced for the food and service you receive. Although the ambiance is quite nice. I had the pulpo a la parrilla and my wife had the tuna steak (not Ahi). Both were decent enough but for the pricing, I expected much better flavor profiles. Meaning our dishes were cooked and sauce drizzled over it. Don't take this a complaint just a nit-picky critique. I would gladly return just would make a smarter decision about my entree. Oh, bartenders although generous need to improve. Drinks were not made well.
I was looking for a new traditional Mexican restaurant, and this one caught my attention. The seafood was delicious, and the dishes where elegantly displayed. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it so much we brought our mothers in the next evening so they could experience it.
Food and service are great as always!
One feels like one left Houston and landed in Mexico at La Fisheria. This visit was our second. I ordered the same thing both times. Pompano fish is excellent. It is worth the wait. This time it arrived lukewarm unfortunately. Black bean soup is super delicious.
We had a table for 15 and we were grateful the restaurant was accommodating in our arrival in 3 groups with 3 orders.
Drinks took a long time to arrive and for the second round we had to cancel them because by the time we finished the meal, they had not been served.
We had made a reservation to celebrate our twins’ birthdays. Nothing extra was suggested or provided for them.
Took way too long! Sides for the fish were all disappointing
Second time dining there. Entree came out lukewarm. The place was not very busy, but we had a new waitress and she seemed a little overwhelmed. I love the flavor of the food, but this visit was a little disappointing.
Date night with hubby then walked to a movie downtown. Food is delicious and always fresh.
Great service, great food.
Great Cinco De Mayo dinner at La Fisheria. The music was good and the service was excellent. Out of all the dishes the table ordered; the whole fish was the best.
My family and I celebrated 5 de Mayo here. We have been here several times but never for brunch. We were pleasantly surprised to day the least. Food was amazing as always and service is also great!
Food is authentic, delicious and drinks are made fresh!
Too pricey for what you get. Presentation and the bill in a little low quality purse that you could buy if you wish doesn't justify high prices. Their kitchen staff needs to prepare stuff a bit faster. Salads are not that time consuming. The seats were brutally uncomfortable on our nalgas.
This is the first time we’ve been at La Fisheria but it won’t be the last. Our sever, Sergio was very courteous and fast. The food is outstanding! For desert we had churros with a chocolate sauce and dulce de leche. It was yummy! The desert took a little longer than usual to come to our table so they it gave to us in the house. I think that speak for itself of the great costumer service they have. We will definitely be back soon at La Fisheria.
Really cute place with great service, and everything we got was outstanding. Even the complimentary chips and salsa were super fresh and delicious. We got the Trio de Empanadas, trio de tacos, the catch of the day, and churros. The catch of the day was super fresh and cooked to perfection. The churros were also super fresh and the perfect texture.
All I can say is WOW! La Fisheria blew all of our socks off! What an amazing restaurant with an stellar team. We will definitely be back and we will tell everyone we know!
