Nice restaurant with very attentive wait staff. Interesting menu with Apple choices for all palates.
Grilled octopus appetizer was fantastic. Pizza was very good. Will definitely go again.
Great dinner. Good service. Drink service a little slow. Definitely will come back.
fantastic menu and great quality. I finally found my favorite wine (corvina) if you love Italian wines , this is the best place that you can find it. Great service the manager stop by my table to make sure if everything is fine (nice hospitality touch). definitely we are coming back.
Food was excellent and authentic. The service was impeccable and they pay a lot of attention to detail. Another Italian restaurant used to be in its place but the prices were through the roof - not with La Favola. Very reasonably priced and the wine was fantastic as well. It has the potential to turn into a true neighborhood gem and we will be back.
Fabulous as always! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We visited La Favola on Valentine's day, so there was a prefixed menu ($45 a person). In total there were about 4 appetizer choices, 8 entrees (or less), and 2 dessert options. The location is nice. The restaurant itself looks pretty new. There are many modern finishes. As far as service goes, it was terrible. The bread was never brought to our table, we actually had to ask for it. We were not regularly checked in on. No one came by during the time from when the bread was brought up until the moment our entrees were dropped off. As the server set the plates down, we mentioned that our appetizers never made it to the table, so we were a little taken aback when our entree was brought. At this point the food runner went back to check with the kitchen and upon returning mentioned he would bring our appetizers out NOW. Which at this point - my fiance no longer wanted his, but I reluctantly accepted mine. With the tables being so small, it was hard to accommodate 2 entree plates + the appetizer plate. The food itself was very good. My fiance had a crusted chicken that was extremely flavorful. It tastes as if it had been marinated in a lemon sauce. I had the bolognese which was equally pleasing. My favorite part was that my pasta was not too thick so it didn't overpower the taste of the sauce and meet. I had the tiramisu which was very soggy. I didn't finish it. My fiance had the custard and he was pleased. Would I return? Probably not. The service was disappointing and though the food was good I wasn't blown away. Our server changed 2 times. The server from the beginning who didn't bring our appetizers out never came back to our table to apologize. We only saw her at the end when we brought our check. Which, we were still charged for the prefixed menu. We asked to speak to a manager, and after explaining the situation one appetizer was removed.
Amazing Valentine's Day Dinner. Every dish was amazing and the presentation was perfect.
Great find! The beautiful space, very attentive and gracious staff, excellent cocktails, and interesting menu made for a lovely evening. The food was delicious, with a lot of seafood options. We will be back!
If you are in the mood for pasta, this is it! Home made. Also, the best eggplant Parmesan I’ve ever had. Very attentive service. Love the comfy soft chairs. We felt very special!
Go there now!! Located in former Ovvio's....La Favola. Has a magnificent beet salad fresh and spiced with excellent ricotta. Next I savoured a pork scalloping. The mushrooms were creamy and delicious in a cream sauce atop the pork. Finishing with Tiramisou I was delighted by the fresh, light, creamy texture and not too sweet with a heavy dusting of cocoa powder, some was in a decorative pattern on the plate. The main dish was a bit small but it was fabulous. The salad and dessert were large enough.
Nice location, good service, friendly staff but just average food at best. Fritto Misto was tough and chewy served with ice-cold marinara sauce. Why not heat the sauce? Beet salad and Caprese salad were good. Bolognese pasta was just ok and the Chicken Milanese was awful. Horribly breaded and over-cooked. I wouldn't recommend.
Impeccable service, staff is very knowledgeable and just the right amount of attention. Great wine list with a good range of price ranges. The lobster ravioli is very good.
The other reviews are fairly accurate. Decent food but not great. Service could be better. Got an explanation of each item on the menu even though i did not request it.
Chef adjusted our dishes to our needs. Wine was wonderful. Goat cheese fig, bacon salad was enough for two and delicious. Service was attentive and understanding.
Great food and great service! Every dish is authentic and made from scratch. Plenty of food!
We had a reservation at 7:30 and although the restaurant was not busy, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. Once at our table, we waited another 15 before even being brought water. The bread they served was raw in the middle and it took forever to get drinks. The eggplant parm was very good, as was the pumpkin ravioli and the tagliatelle. Overall this is a good neighborhood spot. The service definitely needs some improvement...
Good food, great service. Menu offered a great variety, something to please everyone. Prices on the high side, but portions are large. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired.
Hot toddy was really nice. Beet salad was very fresh, tasty and big enough for 2 to share as a starter. Pizza was outstanding - the best crust we have had in a long time. Homemade pasta was very good. Service was unusually good; they clearly want to please. This restaurant will become a new local favorite for us. Highly recommend.
very attentive . The manager, Sonny, was very nice
We really liked Ovvio, so we were very pleased that La Favola was even better. The beet salad was the best we have ever had. The pasta's are fresh made and the sauces were excellent. Also the wine pours are generous (always important). Hope they maintain this level of quality.
Overall the experience was very good. We ordered the Insalata di Polipo as an appetizer, and we were both highly impressed. I ordered the Garganelli alla Yasmine, and it was delicious. My date ordered the Spaghetti all'amatricinana, which she enjoyed, and she let me try it as well—I thought it was quite tasty. The service was excellent: our server was attentive and friendly, although this was probably helped by the fact that we were there the day before Thanksgiving, and the restaurant was not crowded, even during prime dinnertime. The restaurant was also quiet owing to this fact. The value proposition leaves a bit to be desired, as your check can quickly add up, but at least the portions were a good size, unlike other restaurants in the DMV.
It was fabulous. Food and service were excellent.
This is a new restaurant replaced OVIVO. We loved OVIVO. This is authentic italian cooking.
The menu needs more appetizer choices and more meat choices, I.e. veal marsala, veal scalapini., etc. Spaghetti and meatballs are missing. The food that we had was very delicious and plentiful. All salads could be split.
First time at this new restaurant. Was so excited for an Italian restaurant, as there aren't many at all in the area. The food was superb, as was the service. The waitstaff was attentive. The decor is beautiful. Had the Risotto with scallops and asparagus, which was excellent and very filling. The pizza dough was so soft and pillowy. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!
well staffed, not well trained. the server should know if a salad comes with a meal, not surprise me with a six dollar plus add on to the bill. and yes, the craft brew i ordered was good, but i had to remind the server 3 times to bring it. the lasagna is more like mush, there is pasta, but the ingredients are truly a a melted together mess.. undistinguished ingredients. a table for two is too small for a sit down meal, one of our dishes was a veggie pizza, with no place at the table for the food, plates and us. service is very slow. new restaurant, maybe that will improve if the stay open long enough
Food was great, however, the timing of our food's arrival was all off. We were a party of four. While two of us were eating our appetizers, two of our other group's main dishes arrived. It was a long time before they removed the two empty appetizer dishes, when they brought the third main dish. The fourth main dish did not arrive until after all others had finished eating.
After talking to the manager about this, she did give us a discount on our bill.
I am attributing this to new opening glitches to be worked out. We will give it another try in a couple of months.
Was there for grand opening, food was good, great service, the General Manager was very attentive and made us feel very welcome.
Congrats to this new place serving well-prepared Italian cuisine with a touch of originality you don’t often see in this area. Generous pours for by the glass wines. Serving staff was a bit over attentive and our food and others was brought to the wrong tables initially. Chalk that up to opening night jitters. Food worth a second visit to see if they get their service staff sorted out. Was live music opening night, so may not be so loud next time.
Disappointed. The service was sporadic. Difficult to get iced tea and bread. Then, the meals arrived at the table quite a bit different times making dining difficult. There were only four tables - so it wasn't busy, yet the items couldn't come out quickly. The server was unaware of the menu (said meal came with pasta; but didn't so ordered a side - and it came out once done with the meal). The overall food was good; but staples not so much. The marinara sauce was bland and flavorless. The salmon was very good; but the other seafood dish was below average.
We were there for their "soft opening". It was a weekend family diner out.
Menu emphasized locally-sourced ingredients. The wine list is very good, and we found enough variety on the menu to satisfy our varying interests. Appetizers we shared: caprese salad (nice variation on the restaurant's part), and the Parma ham and fried pizza dough (which the teens loved). Our party then dined on: 4-cheese pizza (gorgonzola was a bit much/salty), margherita pizza (good!), lobster ravioli (average), linguini di mare (tasty but cool serving temperature degraded the impact), and the béchamel-sauced lasagna (teen didn't enjoy).
The highlight of the meal had to be the tiramisu. Very tasty and authentic.
As it was a "soft opening", there were minor issues to be ironed out between bottled water service and timing of the entrees. The service was very attentive and helpful. I sincerely hope they get the kinks worked out. We will probably give them another try in a few months after their official opening to see if there's been progress.
This restaurant had just opened in the place of another restaurant that didn’t make it. The decor is exactly the same as the last restaurant. The wait staff was new but friendly. They are still working out the kinks. The food was good. It was slow to arrive. The dessert was served frozen even though it was not a frozen dish.
I’ll give it another try in a month or so, after they get a little more experience under them.
It was nice to go to a restaurant where the menu price was fair and food was above average. Definitely would go back again
