La Fabrica Central
Celebrity Chef Giovanna Huyke...
This is the second time I ate there, and I didn't notice this the first time, because plantains, tostones, etc were great (how can they not), but the other dishes we had on our second trip (octopus, fish), were not so great (octopus too pickled, and fish overcooked. And I did not like the sangria either- tasted like a lot of triple sec, but maybe they did not have it on the menu and just improvised something for me. The food doesn't seem to be good quality, unless you stick to the basics: plantains, skirt steak, rice and beans.
Nice find in Central Sq. Latin American favorites on menu. Good empanadas and platanos both sweet and savory. Excellent cerviche.
The food was great. The music was an added pleasure. Our server was fantastic. I have not stopped talking about the place.
Wonderful food and service
Interesting menu, excellent tasty dishes and fine service. I recommend and will go there again as soon as possible.
La Fabrica is our new favorite restaurant! We are from Colorado and miss the food and energy of the Latin community. This place not only had wonderful food, but the service and the owners we truly amazing. One of the owners (a local from Cambridge) stopped by the table to check on us and chat for a bit. My husband and I had the red snapper and kudos to the chef! Also, a super fun band was playing Latin music and people were dancing. This restaurant is a MUST try; you will not be sorry. We recommend to eat dinner before the band starts and then have drinks (which are fantastic) and dance the night away. Enjoy!
Excellent atmosphere, great music and delicious food!! I Highly recommend this place!
The food was excellent - we ate a lot, but since it wasn’t heavy, we didn’t feel sick afterwards. The cocktails were tasty. They had a live band in the front part of the restaurant, but the volume was perfect in the bath.
The food had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time, but was of decent quality. Outside of that, service was excellent. I just wish the food wasnt dried out
I have been to La Fabrica Central 3 times for dinner and once for lunch. Each meal was delicious. The friends who joined me all complimented the food and one said that the salmon was the best he had ever had. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cocktails are excellent. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant for both the food and the ambiance.
Food is outstanding—unusual, beautifully presented, and very tasty. Great Central Square vibe.
Vejigantes is way better. Free valet. Sangria is more expensive here and not as good. Less options here. Didn't see much Cuban options. Went there for the Cuban empanadas and didnt see it on the menu.
It’s an overrated restaurant. The greeting and service I can complained. But they need to evaluate portions and improve their recipes.
Very noisy but wonderful food
Wonderful time !!!
We had read a review and wanted to try it to celebrate a family get together.
The service was good and attentive. The food all just felt really one note (and perhaps that's because we ordered all vegetarian and pescatarian items). We shared a sangria which was way too sweet. I'd love to check out the nightclub in back another time but wouldn't return for dinner.
Excellent staff and menu options
I’m shocked I’m a very positive way at the authentic flavors of the food. It felt like eating mamis cooking
Loved it here! Food/drinks were on point!
This is my 2nd visit. Each there’s been at least 6 of us. However this time 3 of us got the skirt steak . Poor choice . No flavor , tough and red in the middle. Each time I’ve gone I try what looks like an interesting drink . Each time I have returned it . We spend over $400 each time and am unsure if we’ll go back . Decent place for appetizers, mojitos, signature martini and pina colada!
I was disappointed with the overall experience. I came to this restaurant specifically for their “Noche en Argentina” event. I drove from Worcester, about 45 minutes away for this and I wouldn’t be able to tell you what about their menu was Argentinian. If I wanted typical Hispanic dishes, I would have been better off staying in Worcester. They had live music which I believe played some Tango music but overall it was salsa. Honestly I felt somewhat ripped off and felt that it was false advertising to call that event “Noche en Argentina”.
Enjoyed the food and the music during dinner. Will visit again. Prefer not to have another table so close with two very loud patrons. Made me uncomfortable and difficult to have a conversation.
Great food, waiter was able to adjust options to suit lo-cal diet, and great price ($10 lunch special!)
Inventive, delicious, different, fun. Can’t wait to go again.
It has been a while since I’ve been to a restaurant where the service was just utterly horrible. Our server just disappeared after we gave her our drink order. Another server had to take our dinner order, and I had to flag done someone every time I needed more water, to check on why our food was taking so long, for the actual check. It wasn’t the best experience, unfortunately. Solely on the service, I probably won’t be back.
First time dining there. Great atmosphere and friendly informative servers. The food is the chef’s approach to Puerto Rican cuisine. The empanadas - steak and chicken - were delicious. The band played out front, but it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. My only complaint would be no way to protect the diners from the elements when the front door is opened. Although you are tucked into a tropical environment, it was 7 degrees outside and anytime someone opened the door to the restaurant, we all received a chilly reminder.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.
Food was not that flavorful.
This is my third time visiting La Fabrica Central. We can't wait to go back. The first was for a birthday party with a large group. The second time was for music on a Tues for the fabulous jazz jam and this time was for a casual dinner with a friend. It was again, fabuloso! It is a fun place to dine. The service was wonderful. We had Juan Pablo from Columbia who could not have been or attentive and professional. We each had a signature cocktail from the impressive bar. Both were made perfectly. We also each ordered small plates. My friend had empanades de pollo and a salad. I had cerveche de camerones and cerveche de setas (both with lime juice). I also ordered sweet plantains. The dishes were presented beautifully and were delicious. We ate everything. Next time we will save room for dessert!
The menu changes and the new options are not all great. Do not get the pork chops, it is a lot of fat and not very tasty. Cocktails and dessert were by far the best part of the meal, and the my were great.
La Fabrica has friendly and responsive staff along with an excellent dinner menu. I had the arroz de marisco and my wife had the special which was red snapper. Both the presentation and the flavor were outstanding. We listened to some jazz by the bar before we left which made for a wonderful evening.
Really great food and service!
I was disappointed in the food quality; this being my second visit the 1st time was a lot better food quality. The salmon was good but the vegetable as stated on the menu were not as described I received mostly roasted potatoes (I am not a fan of potatoes) and the vegetables were very hard; I don't mind vegetables that are sauted but these were way underdone.
Had been meaning to get in here for quite awhile and was not disappointed. Fantastic service, creative menu with excellent food, and a really fun environment. Can’t wait to come back and want to try brunch. Highly recommend.
FANTASTIC food! Everything we tasted in our group was exceptionally flavorful and delicious. The ambiance was a tad loud but the LIVE music was really good.
We were lucky to be at LaFabrica on a quiet night. Cool atmosphere, authentic & tasty food. And conviviality— the waiter was friendly and helpful, and better yet, we had a fun conversation with people at neighboring tables. Very much enhanced by the delicious appetizers and drinks
This place is more like a club than a restaurant, if you plan on getting a drink or two at the bar before hand don’t even think about it, had to wait outside in a line for 30 min even though I had a reservation, I had two extra people in my party and even though they initially said the couldn’t accommodate and made my friends pay 10$ to sit at the bar, they totally could have and did. Just too many lines, people for it to be a restaurant and serve a meal. If they want it to be a lounge club they should do so and not take reservations, would have totally gone somewhere else, prob won’t go back unless I wanna party with twenty year olds and not eat dinner for an hour, that being said food was ok, just don’t expect this to be any kind of restaurant on a Saturday night you can chill and have drinks at, this is a club
We made our reservations for 7:30 & was told by the hostess when we arrived that we would need to leave by 8:45 because there was another reservation coming in at 9:30. It was a very unpleasant feeling rushed the minute we walked in before even sitting down. The waitress, service, & food was great so it’s unfortunate that the host gave us a time limit because we won’t be going back now.
I drove up from Providence after seeing it on PG. Was really excited about checking it out as we don't have many casual PR/DR restaurants like that here. My drink was made with Passion Fruit which I loved. Had the Octopus Escabeche and it was okay, I was expecting great. Entree chuleta kan kan and it was a little on the salty side for me. Service and atmosphere were great. They had a live band and I found that to be awesome. Music playing before band began was great too.
La Fabrica has beautiful ambience. The food is unauthentic Latin food. The churrasco steak was chewey. It was my sisters bday and they forgot to sing happy birthday to her as we discussed they would.Drinks and ambience is nice.very commercialized Hispanic atmosphere not authentic at all.
Drinks were great! The food was okay. I enjoyed the food better at their other restaurants, which were more flavorful.
