Fantastic service atmosphere and food
This was hands down one of the best meals my boyfriend and I have ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and the experience felt COVID-safe while also romantic and fun :) I recommend the Steak Frites and the duck! Their dessert was awesome as well.
We took a friend for dinner. The dining room was thoughtfully changed for social distancing and looked like they planned it to look that way, not an after thought. The foods, as always, was amazing. The fois gras was like silk on a crispy shortbread. All of our meals were outstanding and the service was top notch, even on a Sunday. We did miss the weekend piano Cabernet though! This is a must dine at place every tine we are in Rehoboth.
We ordered the cocktails and the Escargot and Deviled Eggs for appetizers. Delicious with a stunning presentation on the eggs. The Caesar salad was excellent with just the right amount of cracked pepper and a delightful Parmesan crisp atop the perfectly cut greens. My date ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon, which was served like a Sunday afternoon kitchen dish in a French countryside cafe. So authentically delightful and filling. I ordered the Steak au poivre, which was a tenderized flank steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare and served with a cognac pepper sauce that was balanced between the richness of the sauce and the spiciness of the pepper. On the side were shoestring “frites” potatoes, seasoned with garlic and seasoning. For dessert, my boyfriend ordered the vanilla bean crême brûlée and I ordered strawberries and cream. The entire meal was exquisite. The service exceedingly prompt, friendly, and efficient. The tables are socially distanced without losing the charming French ambiance. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic place from the service to the food to the ambience. We will definitely be back and look forward to dining again!
La Fable is a favorite. We can count on an enjoyable dinner out from food to service to ambience. A++
Out of this world!
Hors D'Ouvres: ESCARGOT / FOIE GRAS AU TORCHON
Entrees: DUCK A L'ORANGE / BOUILLABASE
Dessert: Crème brûlée
Digestif: Cognac or Armagnac (Can't remember)
Our server was very professional knowing her products very well and very nice and friendly!
Food was delicious. Trout almandine was fab. Would have liked a little bit more in the serving of the soup of the day- crab bisque. Service was lovely....
The food here is always amazing. However, it is very disappointing that you cannot being your own wine. They should allow a corkage fee like most restaurants do.
Great place, awesome for and great service!
sat outdoors great food and service
Fabulous service and food! Definitely recommend this restaurant
La Fable....was great! Megan and her team do a great job!
Was a great experience for our anniversary. Our go-to location for any special occasion. Their duck meals are always great. Chicken cordon bleu is the best there is.
Really great food and drinks. So good to have Fable open.
First time at La Fable. Absolutely amazing food!! Joey was our server he was great! The food melted in your mouth! Started off with cream of crab soup and escargot outstanding, always enjoy trying new food especially when its done right! For dinner my husband had Boeuf Bourguignon I mean holy moly tasted like it had been cooking for days!! I had the Le Canard (duck) again the flavor was amazing i savored every bite, I didn't want it to end. We will definitely be back!
Food and very knowledgeable server were great. nice experience during stressful coronavirus!
Fantastic as usual, so glad you are open again. Chicken Cordon Bleu is my hands down favorite. A MUST when in Rehoboth.
Food was delicious, services was really attentive, and the outdoor seating on marble countertop was very fancy.
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at La Fable. We dine here a few times a year, and enjoyed our old standbys of Steak Frites and Coquilles St. Jacques (Scallops in a mushroom-leek cream sauce). Delicious as always, and the new lemon roasted cauliflower side to the scallops is a definite upgrade to the dish. We both had the cream of crab soup, and it really is excellent- the cream sauce is light and not thick and gluey like creamed soups can be, and it was filled with tons of lump crap. Our server Tonia was attentive and friendly, and the ultimate professional, as usual.
My family of four enjoyed another delicious meal at La Fable. Will be back.
Amazing restaurant with amazing food and service
Had wanted to try for several months, judging by the reviews on TripAdvisor, we were very disappointed with the food, it was mediocre at best, I had the scallops my wife had the steak, my daughter had the salmon. The salmon Was good. The cream of crab soup was good. The Decour seem dated, and the restrooms could stand a good cleaning. The staff was very attentive
three times I asked our server to comfirm that NO peanut oil was used in the Caesar salad; all three times he said he would - but he never did. The salad was brought out and we asked the hostess to confirm and she immediately came out and took the salad away saying the crouton was friend in peanut oil. She brought back a salad without the peanut interference.
We also had an allergic reaction to the foie gras which I am guessing had peanut something in it - we did not pursue.
Disappointing in a place we love - it won't keep us from returning - but we will not work with this particular servers again. inexcusable.
We’ve been to La Fable multiple times and the food and service is always terrific and on point. Highly recommend getting there a bit early and having a drink at the bar.
Delicious food, well prepared. Great service. Cozy ambience. On aime beaucoup et on retournera encore bientôt.
Though La Fable is in a basement, there is enough ambiance that is a a traditional French restaurant
The servers are well-trained professionals. They are attentive to detail and no one is told to “keep your fork”
Though entrees are pricey($38 an average), the portions are large and we both found them delicious.
This is definitely one of thee go to places for a special occasion in Rehoboth
A consistently amazing restaurant. As always, the food was spectacular, the ambiance was wonderful, and the service was flawless. This is one of the very best restaurants in Rehoboth. We've been there a million times, but I had never tried the steak frites. OMG.. The sauce is simply to die for, Once again, a fabulous dining experience.
A very good restaurant with a menu that is of reasonable length with outstanding dishes. I always appreciate a good French approach to dining. Very nice wine list as well.
The evening was very nice. Food and service was excellent.
It’s one flight down to the basement location of this cozy French bistro that’s a hidden gem among the myriad of fine dining along Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. The subterranean entrance belies the restaurant’s romantic ambiance which features marble-topped tables, rattan chairs, Victorian art and subtle lighting from the gilded sconces on the walls. The menu offers such French country classics as Caesar salad, escargot, trout almandine and beef bourguignon, all of which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed while sipping on a couple of glasses of fine Cotes du Rhone. For the finishing touch we split an order of chocolate mousse that provided a pleasingly light and not-too-sweet ending to our meal. Every town needs a sublime little French bistro and this one perfectly fits the bill.
Without a doubt La Fable is the best restaurant in the area. Not only is the service outstanding, but the waiters and waitresses even remember our likes and preferences from previous visits. I wouldn't think of coming to the beach without having a meal at La Fable. If you call in advance they will even serve a deckle steak.
Lovely traditional French cuisine served in beautiful French environment with polished staff. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Wonderful French food but as usual, French food tends to be expensive. Expect to pay for what you get which is excellent.
A somewhat off evening at Fable. The cassoulet must have been sitting simmering for quite some time, because the salt level was extreme. There were too many people at the bar for patrons to access the front door, either coming or going - the staff could have managed that better. Let's hope next time will be up to the regular standard.
The food was very good I has a lobster bisque appetizer and trout amamdine entre my wife had the caesar salad and the chicken cordon bleu. The ambiance is some what french but nothing special with the tables so close togeter it was hard to maneuver.
Charming, cozy restaurant and bar with a strong French flair. The menu is limited but each option is fantastic. The wine list contains both French and American wines at different price points. Service is excellent. The dining area is not large so tables are close and noise can be a bit of a factor but on the positive side the proximity encourages one to socialize with those at nearby tables.
The food is excellent. My husband had the beef bourguignon. It was served over mashed potatoes. He thought it was wonderful. I had the trout almondine. The fish was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It was served skin up which is different than I've ever had it served before. The service was also excellent. The tables are close together but that should be expected in a French restaurant. I hope to visit again soon.
Ty is an exceptional bartender. He made a delicious bleu goose for my wife and a "perfect" bourbon manhattan for me. Our server was very knowledgeable of the entrees and our dinner was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit.
