Lovely French restaurant in downtown Rehoboth Beach, Del. Easily holds it's own with French restaurants in Baltimore and Washington. A great addition to the robust dining scene in Rehoboth.

Would like to go back! La Fable is a cozy, white tablecloth French restaurant but being the beach, it isn't overly formal. Welcoming service. I liked my duck, but really liked my husband's lamb shank. Escargot were large and delicious. Limited menu, which means they can do everything well. The fish and chicken at the table next to us looked really good, too. Don't let the downstairs location put you off - it felt plenty light. Couldn't hear the piano player over the restaurant noise, but didn't feel like we missed out. It would be fun to get there early for a drink next time to better hear the music.

Food and service were excellent. We had someone in the group that could not eat meat and there was little on the menu for him. We'd mentioned this when making our booking and they said they'd make something special for him.

I was firstly impressed that the waiter already knew of our situation when we arrived. I was also very pleased to learn that that the dish was excellent, as were all the dishes we ordered.

The noise level was a little high because it's a small place. They should probably see if they can do something to address this problem.

Authentic French cuisine, rather unusual fare for a beach resort. Menu was limited, but food prepared nicely. I had the crepe appetizer which was spectacular. Duck was also done nicely. Service was tremendous. Attentive without being obtrusive. I will go back.

An excellent meal with a dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable server
. Classic French cuisine, a rarity these days, prepared beautifully. The crepe appetizer was sublime, the mussels, lamb shank and boeuf borguinone were all excellent. A reasonable wine list, too.

Who would have thought. Terrific French Bistro dining in Rehoboth DE. A five star plus dining experience, cocktails to dessert with service to match. If we find ourselves within 50 miles, we will be there. Go there...

FABLE was excellent! Our waiter, Peter, was outstanding as well. We ate authentic French cuisine in a beautiful setting. We never would have known we were at the beach inside this FABLE. We will definitely go back again.

I hesitate to write this review for selfish reasons, I want to keep the secret of how good La Fable is for a little longer! Our waiter Dennis was fantastic. Because it was our anniversary, they provided a champagne toast - very classy! The appetizers were wonderful, the stand out was the cheese crepe. Probably the best thing I've had to eat in years and I am a foodie. For entrees we had the chicken cordon blue and the lamb shank. Again the best versions of both of those dishes we have ever had. Chocolate mousse with 2 spoons was dessert, again, fantastic. The wine list was very good and fairly priced.

A wonderful addition to the Rehoboth food scene. I don't believe there is another French restaurant in the area. The food was wonderful, for appetizer my husband had the crepe, which he enjoyed very much, I had duck a la orange and my husband had mussels for entrees. Dessert was dark chocolate mousse, it was a very large portion of delicious mousse.

If you want traditional French cooking, this is your best bet in Rehoboth Beach. Located below street level on Baltimore Avenue across from Eden, the restaurant has a french bistro feel but sophisticated food and formal service. Menu changes seasonly but can’t go wrong with any entree or appetizer. Bread and butter are made on site and are fantastic. Wine selection is superb. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth a visit.

It was just ok. It was a classic French that had us all excited but the food was as I said - just OK. Three of us had the fish special (wahoo) over lentils. All of our fish was overdone. Lentils were great. The beef bourgione was fair. Server was sweet and efficient. They also have a serious air conditioning issue. Hopefully it is temporary.

Escargot appetizer was great. Snail butter even better. Lamb shank was fall off the bone taste great. Rarely eat desert but wanted to extend the meal . The chocolate mousse was as good as everything else. My wife found her coquelle st Jacque equally satisfying. Classic “rich “ French cuisine may not be the current fusion trend but this was awonderful mealtime

Enjoyed the food very much and the waitstaff was very friendly and helpful in choosing a wine. I had the lamb shank and couldn't have been happier! The portion size was large. My husband had the coquilles St Jacque and that was 6 large scallops. The space is small so I recommend reservations.

La Fable serves classic French cuisine a la Julia Child. The dishes we had, boeuf bourguignon and moules frites, were executed well (as was the crepe appetizer and chocolate mousse dessert). The ambience is nice (white tablecloth). The service was professional.

La Fable was excellent. There was plenty of bead available to soak up the garlic butter from the escargot. The steak was excellent and cooked perfectly for each of the 4 of us. The lamb shank was also delicious. Portions were more than adequate. The best part was the restaurant even had umbrellas for us to borrow as there was a torrential downpour as we were leaving!

A nice find on a back street in Rehoboth Beach. The apps of foie gras and Onion soup led to great entrees of trout amandine and beef bourgione over mashed potatoes. The food was right on and the staff extremely attentive to all the tables. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. Would highly recommend.

As always, this place is a winner. We (5 of us) were celebrating a friend's birthday. In our group, the birthday person picks the place. We were not disappointed that she picked this place. We all had different dishes which everyone raved about. Their bread is to die for also. I had the lamb shank and it was tender, moist and delicious. Friends had escargot, the crepe and the fois gras as appetizers. Everything loved the food.

Meghan also brought out the Birthday crown which was a holdover from Bramble and Brine and it provided us with another fun memory at her restaurant then.

You will love this charming bistro.
