We were 4 and all had eaten here before in 2017 and 2018. Food before now had been very good. This night we each ordered something different and everyone was disappointed ☹️ in some way. Overall, Dishes were salty, way too heavy on dressings and sauces (disappointing flavors as well). Don’t know if they changed chefs but if so, I hope they change back. However, staff was wonderful as they had been before.
First time at this restaurant. The food was wonderful, the service outstanding and the ambience charming. We all had a wonderful time and will return.
We chose La Fable for my wife’s 60th birthday and were not disappointed. This is go-to dining for us in Rehoboth, a place with many other great choices.
Everything about this restaurant is wonderful, menu & service
First time visit, 6 people, and we all were very pleased. Fine choice of French food, excellent wait staff,
Also good selection of wines and cocktails. Since it is small, noise level a bit high but it did not interfere
With our dinner. Looks like the only real French restaurant in this area. . We will return,!!
This is a Rehoboth hidden gem! We visited La Fable to celebrate our anniversary and can't wait to go back. Derrick our server was excellent, detailed oriented, and gave us fantastic recommendations. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect, and brought back some good memories of visiting Southern France. Apertifs, main course, and dessert were 5 star quality!
A fine experience
We had an early reservation so we were showered with attention. I had a grey goose martini that was excellent. We both thought the food was outstanding. It was my wife's birthday and the entire staff made it a very special occasion. Will go back soon!
Wonderful. The ambiance and the staff are top notch!
Wonderful place. I go every time I am in town and always amazed. The service is excellent by people that have been there since the opening. They show great care and consideration to customers.
True French experience
Dont miss this!
Best French in Delmarva!
The food is wonderful. We go here about once a year. In the off season. On Sunday. Happy they are doing well but it does fill up. And exactly one fin fish on the menu, nothing for vegetarians. We always end up getting the same thing. Well-crafted cocktails and wide-ranging wine list. The tables are close together but not so noisy that you can't talk. In fact, you usually end up talking to the folks at the next table. And the waitstaff.
Consistently great... it's like being transported to Paris. I had the duck which was wonderful, not a complaint from any of us about anything.... food, service, wine selection. All very, very good.
There are so many great restaurants in Rehoboth that every chef, every server, every bartender has to bring their "A game" every night. If we receive an average meal or average service, we won't return for years because there are so many other choices. Being average is not a problem at La Fable. It's one of the best in town.
Our new favorite restaurant in Rehoboth....We have visited a number of times and the staff and food remain excellent. The only problem (if there is one) is that the bar area is a tad small. Regardless a wonderful experience.
Great food in cozy environment
Wonderful!!! From beginning to end it was perfect.
Very quaint and elegant little gem in Rehoboth. The food was outstanding...from the filet and chicken cordon blue, to the rum cake for desert. We will definitely return with friends!
Everything was perfect!
Excellent food and service. Seating is to crowded. People are seated to close together.
A very pleasant somewhat romantic venue although seating was snug. Noisy once the place filled up. Food was great! My filet was excellently prepared, as I asked: medium rare. My partner had the Lamb Shank which was also prepared well and ample size. Desert portion was larger than expected, but well worth it. Service was attentive, professional, yet unobtrusive. Very limited menu. Menu prices were high. Wine prices were fair. However, this is one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in Rehoboth Beach to date. They say the menu changes seasonally. We will return to how much variety there may be. If you want a nice romantic dinner for two, and you like good French food, this is the place!
Valentine’s day. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation. There was no room at the bar and really no room to wait for your table to be available. We were not seated until 8:30. I find that unacceptable.
Cozy and playful atmosphere, sophisticated but humble. One of the best dining experiences for my wife and I.
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner and had an amazing time. Service was great and food was amazing. I have zero complaints looking forward to going again. The pianist provided a great ambiance.
Good food and service. We will go back. I think it was crowded because of the holiday.
Valentines Day. Food was good but not excellent. I had duck that was flavorful but very tough. Biggest issue is that it’s a tiny place with tables packed so tight that you literally are sitting with the people next to you and staff is bumping into each other all the time.
Wonderful addition to Rehoboth Beach restaurant scene. Limited but excellent menu of French oriented dishes. Extraordinary service. Intimate decor and atmosphere. Certainly should be high on any list for special occasions.
Exceptional service. We were very well attended to. The food (all courses) was excellent. Best overall dining experience my wife and I have had in quite some time. Cost was more than we usually spend while dining (expect to spend about $70/person), but it was well worth it for the experience.
Kir Royales were just right. Food tested delicious, well-prepared. Service was friendly available and not hovering.
I suggest/request that being a french restaurant raw oysters on the half shell are common in months containing the letter 'R'.
I had the duck and it had probably the best sauce I’ve ever eaten on it. The whole meal , the wine, and service was spectacular Keep up the good work.
Our dining experience was lovely! The food was delicious the service delightful! It’s small and sitting is close. Otherwise perfect!
Outstanding food, service and overall experience. I would highly recommend to everyone.
Our server Peter was excellent! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and he made it very special and fun. Everything on the menu is incredible
La Fable is always a great experience. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent. See you again soon!
Top notch service, amazing food. Tried their signature radicchio salad which was a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness...loved it. The steak frites and coq au vin entrees were lovely. Will return and highly recommend to others.
Extremely loud when we first arrived, but that quickly subsided, as a large party left. The food was very authentic to the region. My only problem was the sparse wine list. I was expecting more Bordeaux wines, but such wasn’t the case. That’s what is needed to really make this gem shine.
Elegant, well staffed, perfectly prepared food and the best Cosmo in RB!!! Fine dining at it's best.
Service just okay, perhaps she had too many tables.
Noise extreme. We were as far away from a large party apparently celebrating a birthday as the room permits, but still could not hear each other speak. This was due to the large party which was somewhat loud when we arrived and got louder and louder throughout our time there. We felt the restaurant staff should have asked them to tone it down and respect the other diners.
Been many times and love it every time. Megan, the owner, has something special going here.
We had never been to La Fable, and we decided to go to celebrate our anniversary, which I indicated on the reservation. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated, and to our delight, we were presented with complimentary champagne after being seated. We each had a salad--a Caesar and a Fable--and they were both delish. My partner had the Boeuf Bourgignon and I had the Coquilles St. Jacques, and both dishes were prepared to perfection. As a mostly vegetarian, I appreciated the braised cauliflower served with the scallops. Others have commented on the noise level, but for us it was fine, and on a Friday evening at 7, the place was probably 2/3 full. We liked the close seating as it prompted us to spark conversation with the table behind us. (How can you not butt in when you hear that you share a favorite restaurant in Honolulu--The Pig and the Lady?) We will definitely return. La Fable, c'est génial!
