La Fable
Valentine’s day. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation. There was no room at the bar and really no room to wait for your table to be available. We were not seated until 8:30. I find that unacceptable.
Wonderful addition to Rehoboth Beach restaurant scene. Limited but excellent menu of French oriented dishes. Extraordinary service. Intimate decor and atmosphere. Certainly should be high on any list for special occasions.
Exceptional service. We were very well attended to. The food (all courses) was excellent. Best overall dining experience my wife and I have had in quite some time. Cost was more than we usually spend while dining (expect to spend about $70/person), but it was well worth it for the experience.
I had the duck and it had probably the best sauce I’ve ever eaten on it. The whole meal , the wine, and service was spectacular Keep up the good work.
Our dining experience was lovely! The food was delicious the service delightful! It’s small and sitting is close. Otherwise perfect!
Outstanding food, service and overall experience. I would highly recommend to everyone.
Our server Peter was excellent! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and he made it very special and fun. Everything on the menu is incredible
La Fable is always a great experience. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent. See you again soon!
Top notch service, amazing food. Tried their signature radicchio salad which was a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness...loved it. The steak frites and coq au vin entrees were lovely. Will return and highly recommend to others.
Extremely loud when we first arrived, but that quickly subsided, as a large party left. The food was very authentic to the region. My only problem was the sparse wine list. I was expecting more Bordeaux wines, but such wasn’t the case. That’s what is needed to really make this gem shine.
Elegant, well staffed, perfectly prepared food and the best Cosmo in RB!!! Fine dining at it's best.
Food excellent
Service just okay, perhaps she had too many tables.
Noise extreme. We were as far away from a large party apparently celebrating a birthday as the room permits, but still could not hear each other speak. This was due to the large party which was somewhat loud when we arrived and got louder and louder throughout our time there. We felt the restaurant staff should have asked them to tone it down and respect the other diners.
Been many times and love it every time. Megan, the owner, has something special going here.
We had never been to La Fable, and we decided to go to celebrate our anniversary, which I indicated on the reservation. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated, and to our delight, we were presented with complimentary champagne after being seated. We each had a salad--a Caesar and a Fable--and they were both delish. My partner had the Boeuf Bourgignon and I had the Coquilles St. Jacques, and both dishes were prepared to perfection. As a mostly vegetarian, I appreciated the braised cauliflower served with the scallops. Others have commented on the noise level, but for us it was fine, and on a Friday evening at 7, the place was probably 2/3 full. We liked the close seating as it prompted us to spark conversation with the table behind us. (How can you not butt in when you hear that you share a favorite restaurant in Honolulu--The Pig and the Lady?) We will definitely return. La Fable, c'est génial!
Wonderful and charming French bistro one block from the beach!
Service was very good. Food was outstanding. Romantic setting. Good wine list. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. Would recommend that you call in advance to reserve your table as the restaurant space is rather small. Seating is limited.
Compliments to the chef everything was fantastic !! Our new favorite spot in Rehoboth.
What a nice little restaurant! The food is great. The service is great. It feels just like walking off the street in Paris.
ADORE this place. The food is comfort French- something you would find at the oldest and best Parisian street bistros. It’s not Paul Bocuse formal cuisine- expect bistro staples executed very well. The place is a lively bistro with great service and a fun loving piano bar. We started with a lovely garlic escargot and smoked fish rillette, went into braised lamb Shank and steak frites, and finished with a decadent chocolate mousse dessert. Having moved from inner D.C. to the beach, Fable is a delightful find!
The food and service was amazing!
Was excited about eat at La Fable until the food started to arrive . This was some of the worst French food I have ever had. can’t understand why people continue to eat here.
Very noisy at table. Terrible vocalist/piano player at bar.
Very nice restaurant, small, authentic, French ambience. Food was good and service was excellent. Prices reasonable. My only complaint would be that the majority of the tables were MUCH too close to each other. You are practically elbow-to-elbow with people at the tables beside you and it's more like community dining. Tables need to have some privacy and space between them. Fortunately my wife and I had the only table in the place that was by itself and afforded some privacy but I would not be happy dining there if I had been at one of the other tables where I was right next to the other diners.
Excellent experience, and it exceeded expectations. Great food and great service with a cozy, romantic feel. All of the 4 of us were very happy with our experience there.
Second visit, initially came shortly after opening and was disappointed. Thought we would give it a second chance and I am glad that we did. Had a very pleasant evening: the food was very good, service was excellent. Would like to see a few more classic French bistro items on the menu. Glad to have a place that fills the French food void in RB.
Amazing food, great ambiance, and strong drinks! A little hole in the wall that you’ll never forget. Recommending to anyone who has a special occasion coming up or wants to enjoy an elegant meal.
Our first time to La Fable. Loved it. Peter our server was a delight. Loved loved his suggestions and shared knowledge. We will definitely go back.
This was our first time here and will not be the last. The steak tartare was amazing, and we both had the duck entree which was phenomenal. The ambiance is cozy. We knew we were the last ones to leave but we were not rushed. Can't wait to come back!
A special occasion restaurant with special occasion foods and wines.
Always excellent .... food ,service, ambiance
Would like the French onion soup and Pate back on the menu
Everything about La Fable was wonderful! My wife and I went for our Anniversary. I have not stopped praising La Fable since exiting the building. The service was excellent, food amazing, the lighting and decor was cozy. Just the perfect size, not too many tables. All and all one of the best restaurants we have visited in the area.
Had a wonderful New Years Eve dinner. Food was excellent!
Favorite restaurant in Rehoboth!
Excellent all around.
A wonderful meal and time spent in a lovely setting.
Great service, delicious drinks. I had the trout almondine-delicious. My dining companions had the duck, the chicken and the lamb (which was a special that evening). All beautifully prepared and delicious.
High quality experience! Great meal and we all left happy!
Fabulous food wonderful service great overall nite Thank you
Step inside La Fable, and it’s the closest you’ll get to France in Rehoboth Beach! The bar was very lively later at night and our waiter, Tye, was spectacular. The bread was extremely fresh and served by piece so it isn’t sitting on the table. For hors D’oeuvres, I got escargot with the La Fable Salad. The sauce on the escargot was amazing and it’s a great dipping sauce for the bread. The salad was a nice balance of creaminess, crunchiness, and a hint of bitterness. My grandson loved his cream of crab soup because it had a good portion of fresh crabmeat. For dinner, my grandson got the duck with goat cheese gnocchi, which was the best duck he ever had. It even had subtle hints of lavender in the sauce. I had the scallops, which were cooked tenderly and tasted like you were eating velvet. Dessert was marvelous. The cheese board was a great variety, especially the creaminess of the triple cream brie and the aged taste of the bleu cheese. The creme brûlée has a very thin, but crunchy layer of flambed sugar, which was excellent. The staff is friendly and professional, and the manager did a great job checking on each table. The prices may be steep, but it’s definitely worth it!
We go to Rehoboth Beach several times a year and enjoy the opportunity to eat here. On this occasion we had Darrell as our waiter. He was quite the character. Very charming and personable. He was very knowledgeable of the menu options and very attentive to our needs. The menu seems to change on each of our visits and we never are disappointed. We are looking forward to our next visit
We ate here for the second time on Christmas eve and La Fable outdid itself! The menu offered was prix fix but all choices were appealing. My husband ordered escargot and duck and I had the Caesar salad and duck. All dishes were expertly prepared and there were enough choices that it was difficult to decide on what to order. Dessert was an individual yule log for the table. The bread served is worthy of a French restaurant and I had a glass of their French table wine with dinner which was outstanding. The staff was very accommodating and had a great attitude. I have found this to be rare when restaurant staff has to work on a holiday. Overall, I can't say enough about this restaurant. We will definitely be back!
