So lovely, an authentic French Bistro.
Great cocktails, we all got different entrees & everyone loved their meals
Unexceptional expected much more. Food was cold. Send back.
We mentioned that we were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and were paid special attention from the moment we were seated until we finished our last sip of wine.
What a lovely restaurant. They have excellent menu choices, fabulous wines, a terrific serving staff, and a very inviting environment. We started with escargot appetizers. My steak was cooked to perfection and so delicious, my husband and our friends had chicken cordon bleu and coquille st Jacques. Everyone loved their choices. It’s a delightful French restaurant that will give you a fabulous dining experience to remember.
La Fable never fails to live up to its reputation as a delightful and delicious French bistro. The staff is exceptionally well trained and attentive. The kitchen knows how to deliver authentic French food.
Outstanding food, selections and service. Appeared to be a favorite of locals and that’s usually a good sign. Menu took me back in time - and that’s a positive. Dishes are classic French. The bartender makes a killer Cosmopolitan:-). We will return the next time we’re in town
We loved every minute of our dining experience. The staff was warm, accomodating (gluten free needs, special wine requests, etc.), and knowledgable. The food - fois gras, trout, and chicken - was perfect and memorable. The wines were lovely at all price points. The dining room is cozy and charming .We will be back.
This is our favorite restaurant in Rehoboth- this weekend while visiting the area, we went twice. The Coquilles St Jacques was astonishing - creamy elegant sauce, the scallops were cooked perfectly. My husband had the duck breast, an exquisitely prepared piece of meat. Normally it’s served with gnocchi, but my husband is gluten-free, so the chef served it on top of haricots verts. One of few places you can get good steak tartare. Great wine list by the bottle, fewer but adequate choices by the glass. Excellent and knowledgeable service by Victoria, hostess Nicole welcomed us back as old friends on the second evening. Make reservations - you’ll need them, especially on Saturday evenings.
Classic French, Terrific Staff! What more could you ask for.
This was our second time at Fable. It was fantastic! The food superb: the cauliflower creme with goat cheese was excellent; and we both had the duck with gnocchi! The martinis were spot-on and the wine list reasonably priced with a broad selection. Hostess Nicole made our evening even more pleasant, and server Russ was perfect.
We were very disappointed. The food was very mediocre. The trout was tasteless. They have several wines by the glass but they are not very drinkable. I will not return.
This is such a consistently good restaurant! We’ve eaten here 4 times and each time impresses with the quality of the food and service. The wine list, while not very big, offers some good choices that are very well priced. The b st in Rehoboth!
La Fable was recommended by a friend, and it was a good recommendation. Quite a nice French restaurant (not really what you expect to find in Rehoboth Beach DE), with a small bar and live piano music (at least there was on Saturday night). The Fable salad was very good. I love Roquefort cheese, but my friend does not and they were happy to make it with one of the other cheeses they had on hand that evening. My Coquilles St. Jacques (scallops) were delicious and I loved the golden fried cauliflower that came with the dish. My husband loved the duck and our friend wiped out his Boeuf Bourguignon. Everything was perfectly cooked and well prepared. The restaurant was very crowded even though it was October. We will definitely go back.
Fantastic food especially the duck! Impeccable service! Perfect evening for our anniversary dinner! We will be back!
Delicious steak tartar, excellent waiter, quite noisy.. my husband had the duck and i had the scallops. All very good. We also enjoyed our drinks.
It was the second time we dined here and was excellent again! Sat at the bar waiting until our reservation time. Bar is small, but cozy. Live keyboard and singing. Bartender made delicious drinks! Dinner was superb (they make a killer duck) all entrees (there were 3 of us) were tasty. So were the two apps we ordered. Peter was our server and was personable and knowledgeable. Bon Appetite!
This is a very small space where there is barely room to move so a bit claustrophobic; in addition there is a very noisy bar
One dish, the duck was very well received; the fish of the day was a bit blah. It claims to be crusty skinned; not so. The bread, however, is outstanding.
The dessert was just slices of bread moistened with rum and cream; not what we expected
It's a very popular restaurant in a very popular town, but there are others that would stack up well
This is a wonderful French Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach. It has a small, but well crafted menu with expert service. A true find for us. We enjoyed it immensely.
It was my second time dining and it was wonderful. I will be back.
Everything from the attentive service to the excellent food made for a very enjoyable evening out. Their French(75?) cocktail was perfect. Not too sweet, but subtle in the mixture of tastes. Loved the romantic ambiance. Well worth a try.
Great meal. And great entertainment!
Good food Peter was wonderful.
Cozy ambiance + great tasting food = awesome experience! Also- the singing bartender and pianist was a sweet fun treat:)
We had delicious, authentic French cuisine - everyone enjoyed his/her meal including: steak au poivre, duck, and coquilles St Jacques. The place is small and noise level is pretty loud especially with the keyboard player in the bar area. It is down steps so is not wheelchair accessible. The service was attentive and very friendly - no snobbery or pressure. It’s pricey but definitely worth it!
Absolutely amazing experience. Love the food, one of the best in Rehoboth, if not all of Delaware.
Love the service, and the piano bar is the icing on the cake.
Will be back as often as possible.
The food was extremely salty - every guest at our table had the same comment
Our first time there. The food & service was wonderful. The restaurant is quite small which makes for a tight fit. We really enjoyed our dinner.
Our server was fabulous. Chicken cordon blue was amazing. We’ll be back.
Excellent in all respects but sound level. Noise dampening technology would improve dining experience.
lovely spot. was like being in France. food was wonderful
best in a long time.
This was my third time for dinner at La Fable. It's like a little bit of Paris at the beach. Perfect.
Marvelous food. We shared the cheese board with a good bottle of wine. My husband had the
Duck and I had Beef Bourgeon. Victoria was a delightful server.
The food wasn't special in any way and certainly wasn't French in preparation. We both had the special of the day and it was Boeuf Bourgignon. We were so disappointed in this brothy dish with tasteless meat and no deep rich flavors. It was like having some kind of forever boiled beef with undercooked potatoes. There were no onions or peas and the "sauce" was broth and boring in taste.
Very good Rehoboth restaurant. Our server, Peter, was outstanding. Classic French fare. Pricey.
Several locals we had conversation with mentioned Fable as one of the best in Rehoboth. It did not disappoint. The beef bourguignon was excellent as was the mushroom soup du jour. We had an excellent French Rose and finished up with a lemony dessert (made ion house). Definitely recommend Fable and look forward to a return visit when in Rehoboth again.
Great food, chocolate mousse was the best we have ever had. Dennis ( our waiter) & other staff did an outstanding job!
As always this place NEVER disappoints!
This was our first time in Rehoboth and to La Fable. Can't wait to return to both! Our server, Darryl, was awesome! The menu is small, but everything we tried was wonderful. We had the steak tartare, coquille St. Jacques and Steak Au Poivre. All were excellent. We had drinks at the bar before our meal and there was a fun crowd there.
An overall enjoyable dining experience, although I was surprised & disappointed that french onion soup was not a menu staple, & the noise level was such that conversation was a challenge. Re the soup, it was explained that the kitchen is very small, but even so it's a signature for a french oriented venue. It was also a cold, rainy night so cold vicchysoise (sp?) seemed an unfortunate offering. On the positive side, both the proprietor & the wait staff went out of their way to be of service and could not have been more helpful or attentive.
PS: I was also surprised, that while we made our reservation through Open Table, we were told we were not eligible for any Open Table points . That seemed very odd.
Despite being a windy, rainy Saturday following Labor Day, the restaurant was full by 6:30. Small cozy restaurant with excellent and attentive staff. Waiter made recommendations upon request but was not intrusive. Water glasses and bread plates watched and refilled without a second glance. Limited menu selections but there was something for everyone. Only recommendation would have been to switch out the cold soup for a warm one to match the weather outside. Would definitely return.
