La Dolce Vita Authentic Italian Cuisine
Mauro is from Naples, Tina was born in a little sicilian town near by Enna.
He began to learn everything about the southern cuisine by his experience in Naples since he was a child, from “Polipetti alla Luciana” to “Paccheri ai frutti di mare”. Furthermore he moved in Milan and he had the chance to learn the northern cuisine, from “Risotto ai funghi porcini” to “Polenta grigliata”, one of his favourite specialties!
From an ancient sicilian tradition, Tina learnt everything about the desserts by her grandmother and her mother, from “Millefoglie” to “Cannoli cake”.
We hope you enjoyed reading about us. but it would be great if you would have the chance to taste our fantastic dishes! It will be an amazing experience with no
We went to La Dolce Vita upon the recommendation of friends. It is a quaint restaurant - very pretty! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted and seated promptly. All the service at the beginning was friendly and prompt. The food was outstanding. We both tried pasta dishes and my husband had the burrata caprese as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. As we ate, more patrons entered the restaurant. That is when the service at our table became poor. I asked for a 2nd glass of wine - but never received it. We finished our meals and sat for 15 minutes waiting for a server to remove our plates, bring me my 2nd glass of wine, and bring us the dessert menu (the desserts looked fabulous). We had tickets for an event and so when the server came with the dessert menus we had to decline. We then waited another 5 minutes for our check. Because of the quality of the food, we will give the restaurant a second chance. If the service continues to be poor, we will not return a third time.
Excellent! Very authentic!!
This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. The restaurant is in a little strip mall and the inside is a bit unassuming, however the food and staff were outstanding, some of the best Italian food I have ever had. The owner, Tina dropped by our table and introduced herself, a very nice touch making us feel like we were part of the family.
Authentic. Fresh pasta. Great lamb shank with tagliatelle!
Wonderful treasure! Food delicious and great service!
Delighted once again to be served by Tina and her marvelous staff. The food is of excellent quality, portions are just right and ambience is comfortable and home-like. Can't wait to return!
Eating here is like being in Italy! Truly homemade authentic food. Everything is made fresh by chef owners Tina and Mauro, from Milan and Naples. Tina bakes the great bread and wonderful desserts including the best limoncello I’ve ever had. Same with all the dishes. Italian is our favorite food so we finally struck gold when friends raves about this place and took us. I’m from Boston and have eaten many many times in the Italian North End. This food rivals the best I’ve had there. I had a fish dish steamed in a light wine sauce, a special that night. My husband had the lasagna bolognese. Our friends had the fish special, and, the fourth has dietary restrictions so she called the day before and Mauro made a special dish for her! Everything was scrumptious and hot. Tina is also the hostess as guests arrive so greets them with excitement. Service is superb. It’s located in a small strip mall but please don’t let that deter you! It’s wonderful ambience inside, white tablecloth, nice crystal twinkly lights; but dress casually it’s Florida! Almost forgot: excellent wine list! Salute! Cin Cin!
La Dolce Vita is our favorite Italian Restaurant in Sarasota County. The food is delicious, all the pasta is homemade. The owners are simply amazing. Tina is a fantastic hostess and baker and her husband is an awesome chef. Delicioso! The desserts are to die for!
I highly recommend this restaurant. It's our go to for special occasions and just dinner with friends. You feel like family here.
Tina is a great hostess
The food is always great.
This was our 4th visit and it keeps getting better
Good wine. Relaxed delicious meal
First time here. Read all those 5 star reviews and thought this cannot be true. It is, and I’m giving another 5 star. Cannot wait to go back.
Best Italian restaurant in Sarasota.
Wonderful authentic Italian food with an extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They also have a very good and thoughtfully developed wine selection.
My favorite restaurant in Sarasota!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at La Dolce Vita on Friday night and the food and the service was impeccable. I had putanesca and my husband had veal saltimbocca a la romano. Both were so delicious. If you are looking for true Italian cuisine, La Dolce Vita is the best restaurant we have found. I call it my little hidden gem because it is tucked away in a strip mall on Stickney Pt. Rd. near the junction with Clark. Just plug it into your GPS and go. You will not be disappointed.
I would recommend La Dolce Vita to anyone who wanted to have a wonderful meal! Every interaction from the first time a few years ago till Friday September 29, 2019 has been outstanding. The staff is very attentive and friendly, but doesn't hang out. They Check back frequently, but are unobtrusive filling water and wine glasses. The food is delicious and the limoncello is the best I have ever had! Tina makes the whole thing run seamlessly while looking pretty terrific herself! We will be back- AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN!
First time for my brother-in-law - he said it was the best calamari & lasagna he’s ever had. Wished they could ship it to him in Virginia!!
Awesome authentic Italian food with amazing service. This restaurant has become my favorite spot in Sarasota.
What can I say? Have dined here many times-another fabulous meal. Brought another couple who raved about their meal.
We make every effort to dine at LDV when in Sarasota. Tina and her staff are absolutely delightful and attentive. The service is the icing on the “torta” or cake! You feel greatly appreciated and cared for. Tina is a wine expert and makes wonderful suggestions to pair with her husband, Mauro’s delicacies that are carefully and lovingly prepared for your table. The special touch of homemade cream limoncello is the crowning glory! Salute!!!
Treat yourself! It’s a must!!! Life is sweeter at La Dolce Vita!💕🇮🇹
We were the first of the evening. They spent all day remodeling the decor, and it’s beautiful. Although a bit hectic at beginning, they held their composure and greeted us like old friends. A perfect dining experience, attentive service, and sincere appreciation for our business was capped off with Tina taking the time to wish us well outside at the car.
Great lasagna, reasonable wine list. This place is a gem
Absolutely love the Italian flavors and fresh ingredients Mauro uses to personalize his dishes. Tina is a delightful hostess, who also whips up the best desserts!
A great authentic Italian restaurant that has GREAT food with a small cafe ambiance.
As always a wonderful evening with the La Dolce Vita “family”. Delicious food, attentive service, & lovely background music. Who could ask for anything more!! Thank you, Tina, Mauro, & staff “family”.
Great service great food.
This restaurant is a gem in our community. All of the food was exceptional; fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. Every detail is addressed by the very pleasant and attentive owner. You feel like you are dining in her home for a special occasion. If you have not tried this special restaurant, now is the time!
Food was awesome, service and Owners were all very attentive and really nice
Made-to-order authentic Italian cuisine at its finest combined with a friendly, efficient staff made for a superb dining experience. I strongly recommend it.
What a great local gem! We tried this restaurant as part of Savor Sarasota and were not disappointed. Everything is homemade and foood was excellent. The owner greeted us and gave us some history. They had just returned from Italy. We are taking friends to enjoy this as they appreciate excellence in their dining experience . On our list of favorites!
The food was average at best . Ambience is poor .Waitress had no clue on wines and was not attentive . I would not go back as there as there are so many better choices .
I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy the ambience, the waitress and....sorry what else? Oh but you didn’t said that the FOOD WASN’T good right? Thank God.... ..for a minute I thought we was at the FASHION NIGHT FESTIVAL.. To bad you didn’t like it my poor restaurant.....thank you for stop by anyway.....
The food was spectacular and they have a very attentive, very friendly staff!
One our favorite restaurants anywhere. We are treated like family in this family owned and run restaurant.
The two Tina's (one an owner, the other maitre d') make sure we feel welcome and do everything possible to ensure a great experience. We have reviewed this restaurant several times because every visit is outstanding, from start to finish. Husband Mauro in the kitchen cooks fish to perfection, and home made pasta is always superior. Simple chicken picatta is just as it should be. Desserts are amazing. We make an annual pilgrimage from Santa Fe every year to La Dolce Vita!
Always wonderful. A special gem for Sarasota.
Fantastic food, excellent homemade pasta, great service.
Great Italian food in a cozy setting. Fish was excellent.
My favorite restaurant! It’s like having dinner in Tina and Mauro's dining room!
Wonderful as always!
Food and service again were excellent. Bronzino, calamari and chicken dish all were delicious. The spinach and pasta sides were both prepared with garlic and oil and were just right. Owner/ hostess always very gracious and singer added a nice touch
We had another excellent meal at La Dolce Vita. The food was marvelous as usual, the service was excellent and Tina makes everyone feel at home.
Far and away one of the best Italian culinary experiences in Sarasota. Small, authentic, good food, good people, good memories. THE most authentic Italian dining experience in the area. It almost feels like your dining in someone’s home in the heart of Italy. Tina is the best hostess and Marlo creates some of the most delicious dishes we’ve had. We brought 3 of our friends this evening after having stumbled upon this little gem a few weeks ago. They all raves about our experience the whole way home. Do not come in for a quick dinner. Come. Enjoy a lovely Italian dining experience.
This was our second vist to La Dolce Vita and we can't wait to return. Tina and her staff were friendly, accomodating and very attentive. The food was amazing and there was an excellent woman singing standards that added to the relaxing ambience. Really a great neighborhood find!
Our friends from NY loved the restaurant as do we!
