The food and drinks are very good. The main issue that I have is that the price is a little high and the quantities of some plates are lacking.
Experience was awesome. Love the vibe. My friend loved the vibe as well which was very important to me. Will recommend you anyone
Good drinks and food. A little pricey for the amount of food but the food was tasty!
Great service and food, but pricey for the portions.
Food and drinks were delicious but everything took forever. We ordered the chips and salsa as an appetizer and I was halfway done with my cocktail before they came out. My companion ordered a cocktail when we got our food but didn’t receive it until we were done eating. The timing for everything was just off, though it was all delicious. Don’t come if you’re in a rush. Also, there’s nowhere to put your coat like a coat rack and most of the chairs don’t have backs, so that was awkward but luckily it was pretty empty when we went.
Wonderful staff, very attentive and welcoming! Meal was superb too!
Amazing shrimp tacos
The bartender ( don’t remember his name but he had glasses) was welcoming. Great vibe!
Valentine’s Day. Great spot for a special occasion.
It was a great dinning experience.
I really enjoyed La Diagonal. The service, meal and ambience was the right type of brunch atmosphere I wanted. All too often Brunches in Harlem can be noisy. Not here. You can actually have a conversation and catch up with friends and family.
The food, drinks, service and ambiance were delightful. The restaurant was noisy while we were there (9:30 - 10:45 on a Saturday night) which makes it difficult to have a conversation beyond two people. But I would happily return to see if it is quieter a bit earlier in the evening.
Went for my sisters birthday. Drinks are good food was really good! Overall will return!
This is the best Mexican restaurant
I love this place!!! Servers very nice. Food is delicious and setting is beautiful and relaxed.
Too expensive for 2 tacos that weren’t good :(
Went for NYE, perfect! Drinks and food were outstanding!
Vegans can eat the vegetarian tacos and a few of the sides - just make sure to tell your server that you are vegan!
La Diagonal offers very well prepared dishes, with attentive service. Be aware that the servings come in European portions.
Two of us went to La Diagonal for Sunday brunch at 1pm and the place was very very quiet. The food was good but a little slow to come out given how quiet it was. The waiter seemed not to understand what we said. We had to repeat ourselves a lot.
I loved this place. It was conveniently located in Harlem. Took my cousin there for her bday. You HAVE try the crab quac and churros. Will go back again.
All I can say is CRAB GUACAMOLE!!! Drinks were good and food was delish BUT THAT CRAB GUACAMOLE WAS TO DIE FOR!!!!
Excellent service, nice vibe, food was also interesting and delicious. But oh, on a Friday night, it was so loud we could barely hear one another.
Nice ambiance, food can be spicey but food overall extremely yummy. Good place for happy hour.
Nice location for a summer meal but I guess should not order seafood on a Monday. Crab not at all fresh and the guacamole was bland
We had a fabulous dinner. The crab guacamole was the best!!! Fantastic ambiance and the service was wonderful.
Incredibly slow service: Arrived at 13:03. Waiter finally took our order at 13:23. Food finally arrived at 13:54. one of the pancakes was charred black. The huevos rancheros was tiny and ordinary. The only thing decent about the restaurant was the mezcal, and all they had to do was pour it out of a bottle.
Very small portions. I expected the quality of the meal and portion size of the guacamole, appetizers, and entrees to be larger for the price. Chips with the guacamole were stale. Very underwhelming. Ambiance is nice but can get a much better value elsewhere. This was our second visit, probably last for food.
Very understaffed. Created issues with food service and the food itself (arrived cold) and cold drinks which arrived with melting ice having watered them down. Usually the restaurant is very good but this time I was disappointing.
We have never ventured this far north for Tequila
and appetizers. The drinks men and small
dishes were first class. We had a very good
wait staff and our dishes and drinks were
Great drinks and pretty restaurant. Food was delicious guacamole and shrimp quesadilla.
The food was great! However, service was horrible. They forgot our drink orders and 3 different people returned to the table 4 different times to take the same order. Then they confused our drink order with another table. When we finally got our drinks, after about 30 minutes & at the end of our meal, they blamed the bar for the delay. However, the bar was nowhere near busy and the bartender at one point was just standing doing nothing as we waited. The drinks were good, not worth the wait. When we ordered to dessert we had to ask for cutlery twice. They dropped the dessert off and 10 minutes after it had been obvious they had no intentions of giving us cutlery. When we asked the first time, a person (who wasn’t our server) came back 5 minutes later and stated “Oh I forgot”. Then offered us a round of shots which never came. We weren’t upset about the shots not coming because at this point we wanted to leave. When we left, we paid in cash and headed out. The server chased us down the block, yelling, “HEY”. When we finally realized someone was speaking to us we stopped and turned around, she asked us if we paid. We said that we had and left it all in cash on the table. She stated “Oh you left it at the table. Okay.” It’s obvious she did not even check the table & decided to that chasing us down the block like we had dined and dashed was more appropriate. Overall, we are never going back to that restaurant.
Queso Fundido was perfect. Octopus with cauliflower and corn was spicy and so yum!
Crab enchiladas are fantastic. Fish tacos lacking flavor and presentation was meh-could use a bit more cabbage.
Mezcal cocktail too much pineapple but presentation was nice.
Gorgeous restaurant just needs a bit more work on service. Waited a super long time for check and then even longer to pay.
Yes. They were out of everything I ordered, but everything I ended up getting was terrific.
Love the restaurant, the food is good, fresh, clean and authentic. Best margaritas!
What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't provide sour cream with a meal and charges extra when you ask for it? We were charged $2.00 for a tiny amount of sour cream. I ordered the tuna tartare taquitos appetizer as an entree and asked if it would be enough for a meal and the waiter said yes. While the tuna tartare tasted good, the "taquitos" included 4 tiny (about 2 inches wide, 1 inch tall) shells and I asked for more and they brought me tortilla chips instead. 2 drinks, 1 appetizer and 1 entree cost over $100 for tiny portions and just okay food. I loved the decor and the atmosphere and although I live 2 minutes away, I won't be back.
We love this place. We've gone here several times for special occasions. The drinks and food are good and the service is excellent. We will definitely continue to go here.
Service was really slow. Drinks and food were overpriced for what it is.
Great HH, good food but service can be a bit slow and lacking at times.
This place is one of the best kept secrets in Harlem right now. The brunch is excellent and very well done. Visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was practically empty compared to the many other after-church soul food restaurants in Harlem which are packed at this time. The view on a nice day - particularly on the balcony - is relaxing and the service is very attentive. I enjoy their chorizo and any of their egg dishes, and the cocktails are always top notch. Definitely recommend a visit. The only downside is many of the seats are stools without backs. This didn't work too well for a few of the folks in our group however the servers were very accommodating in getting them chairs with backs.
