La Cucina Piccola
Very good. Cozy and warm.
My wife and I went there for the first time at the recommendation of other . Although with a limited menu , the food and service were both very good . The dishes are reasonably priced and we will go back to try it again .
When I got to the restaurant the food was very good as well as the service. Nice environment and very good music. The first plate was a fresh burrata salad with prosciutto and peppers. The second plate was calamari and it came very quick with a fresh marinara sauce. The third plate was a porkchop with figs and Porto wine. All the food came very quick as I didn’t need to wait long for any plate. For dessert I got pistacho ice cream. It was a great experience for me. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
I am reluctant to write a great review knowing how the general public reacts when they read how wonderful the food and dining experience is at this little jewel of a restaurant. The food has always been perfect, the service (family) is also something other restaurants try to achieve, but most don't. The variety and presentation of the varying dishes is always perfect and creates a dinner we always look forward to. Getting reservations is not always easy (understandable) but achievable. We also appreciated that, almost adjacent parking, particularly in winter and wet weather. Overall it is one of our favorite places to dine in suburbia.
Always great food at reasonable prices. Just was Roseland needed.
Was really looking forward to eating here with friends. The space is small and subsequently understaffed. There is no manager. No one who comes to check on the table to see how things are going. One senior waitress, one junior and one bus boy on a Saturday night. Salads were tasteless but read very well on the specials menu. Two of our entree's were very good. One was not-not the first time or the second time. I always want to see a small restaurant succeed. Not sure if this place will.
The food is always great, priced right, and the service is super. The chef’s wife, Tricia serves tables and is wonderful. I left my “doggy bag” behind, and despite having a full house, she called me and put in their fridge so I could pick it up the next day!
We dined with 2 other couples, both arriving at different times. Both commented how clean the dining room was. Trisha and Alan are hard workers dedicated to pleasing their diners. Food was outstanding. Six meals and appetizers served on time & efficiently.
You won't find a better, friendlier, full of great food Italian bistro! This is a must go to spot. Have been many, many times and have NEVER been disappointed.
Second time and great again
Great food produced by a hard working Husband and wife team.
Great food and great service!! Must try!!
Highly recommend, great food and great service . Been there a number of times, never disappointed.
Lovely little neighborhood Italian restaurant. Pasta dishes and a number of fish choices as well. Definitely a go to place.
A lovely neighborhood spot. The food was quite good,,The double cut pork chop came out perfect and was juicy , Added a side of crisp potatoes and it was heaven. The others in my party all had different dishes and were pleased.
The ambiance is pleasant and surely better than most neighborhood spots and with easy parking .
Delicious salads (burrata appetizer was so gooood). Calamari was actually fluffy! Main courses were lasagna (again, light and delicious), peas/mushroom raviolis (great taste and sauce), and salmon. Desserts of cheesecake and lava cake were also very good. Service was timely and friendly and unrushed.
Only critique--bread was not that great and dipping oil needed to be refilled. Warmer bread and more or self-serve olive oil w salt/pepper would be nice.
My three friends and myself went to celebrate one of my friends birthday. We got there by 5:30pm and we were welcomed immediately. We had the Early Bird Special for a fixed price of $19.99. We ordered the Flounder Francaise with artichokes, mashed potatoes, fresh string beans and carrots in a delicious white wine and lemon sauce. It was delicious! Very Tasty! My other friend had them prepare her Chicken Parmigiana and she said it was the best she had ever had! Our compliments to the chef! Dessert was also great! We had one scoop of sorbet and one of gelato. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
I cannot think of any other place I would rather go to where the food is fresh and great, the service and owners are the best. As soon as you go in you know this is the right place to eat and prices are very affordable. Try it I guarantee you will not regret it
Pleasant atmosphere, quality in food and the service wonderful: respectful and kind💕.
We have been to Cucina Piccola quite a few times and the food and service has always been excellent. The food is consistently a cut above traditional Italian restaurants.
We have been going to LCP since Trisha and Alan opened...they never disappoint! One of our favorite restaurants in the area and that includes those in Montclair. Great for date night or with a group of friends. Bring a nice bottle(s) of wine, relax, and enjoy great food and hospitality!
Great farm to table Italian food! Great Hostess and staff.
All four of us were new to this restaurant and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the warm, cozy ambiance, the exceptional service by (co-owner) Trisha and the excellent food. Portion sizes were appreciated - neither too big or small. The occasion was a special birthday, for which a dessert was presented with a candle and a song. If I didn't live several states away, this would be a restaurant I would return to frequently.
Not as good as in the past, but still good
Great local BYOB, great specials, small and quaint reasonable prices.
This was our first time there, the food was very good especially the appetizers that we ordered. Service was a little slow but very pleasant staff
Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Will definitely return!
Must go to restaurant! Food is delicious. Menu is flexible with several great specials made with fresh local ingredients. Trisha and Alan, what a great team! (And the rest of the staff also!)
Excellent food and terrific owners that really care. Patricia is the best.
Good Italian food. Small, intimate atmosphere. I appreciate that they don't rush you through your meal. AND they have a parking lot!
The food was fresh and delicious; and the service was good. Would definitely go back again.
This restaurant is wonderful!
Great local place
La Cucina is excellent. Don’t be fooled by its location in a small strip mall. The food is terrific with fresh ingredients and inventive preparation. Service is friendly and competent but never intrusive. There are always specials, but the menu has enough variety to suit a range of tastes. Highly recommended.
The best restaurant finds are often tucked away in small "strip malls" mostly hidden from view.
La Cucina Piccola in such a place. A family owned place, it can only be described as amazing. The chef/owner uncommonly prepared, common Italian dishes. Our fourth visit (with friends) was just as wonderful as the first three. Our server, Trisha, the wife of the owner, is extremely pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. I won't describe individual dishes but the menu is filled with, what only described as amazing tasting, beautifully prepared dishes. The place is beautifully decorated, spotless and cozy, no doubt Trisha is responsible for this. For a special occasion or just a quick weekday meal it is just a wonderful place to dine. Very reasonable prices and a BYO adds to the pleasure of dining there. it's a 40 minute drive from my home but well worth the drive.
Have never been disappointed in the dining experience at this restaurant. We return again.
This visit was on Valentine’s Day and our first time there. They had a prefixed menu with lots of choices for Appetizers and main courses. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We definitely go back again
Great food at a reasonable price
