   Visited for brunch and wanted to try EVERYTHING on the menu but opted for the shrimp and grits and I made the right choice. Grits were delicious and would order alone. My husband ordered the seafood omelet and not one drop was left and my daughter had the kids chicken strip and french toast and made a “happy plate”! We will definitely return to try other dishes. 10 out of 10!

   The waitress was wonderful. The food and drinks were good. Why must anyone pay for a 20% service fee? Ambiance is not anything exceptional. The owner is making it hard on waitstaff to earn tips by charging a bogus 20% service fee for what???? People are not going to tip and pay a 20% service fee. Ridiculous! This is a selfish ploy by the owner to earn more. If your business is faltering then do more marketing because this is not the way. I’ve traveled the world and never had a service fee. And in Jackson, MS????? I will not be back because of this. There were other patrons upset too.

    Last Saturday my wife and I made a reservation for dinner. We normally come on Friday nights but made a reservation for Saturday. I was greeted by the hostess and seated promptly at 7:30. The Server Emiah placed a order for crab claws and two drinks. At 8:45 I asked the hostess if she could find our server so we could place our order for dinner. She came back and placed the order and I didnt see her again until i requested her. I asked if the cobb salad comes with bacon. She said NO. I showed her the menu and she brought some cracklin to the table. I expressed to the manager that we come quite often and normally buy atleast three rounds of drinks but our server was not attentive. Visited March 4. I would have thought management or the owner would have cared enough to reach out. I guess since this is a popular spot at the time reviews dont matter.

    The sitting was somewhat tight not really a private table for a date with someone. Well where we were seated that is. The live music/piano was nice. Received our food in a timely manner but the couple next to us who arrived right after us waited almost a hr for theirs after ordering. Far as the meal. My date enjoyed her stuffed mushrooms and shrimp n grits very much! I enjoyed my food as well with a few irritations. The lamp chops were EXTREMELY SMALL. Some looked like scraps almost most. So small as to telling the temperature I wanted them prepared at didn't matter. Guess that's why you're given 6 of them. The potatoes were very good! The greens were decent, my issue with them were the way they were cut. I'm not a fan of stems in my greens. Just a personal preference. And they were slightly too vinegary for my taste. I did love the spice on them. Also the portion sizes for the sides seemed a little small for me. I understand they're going for a upscale feel but it wasn't a 5 course meal or anything. I literally when to a fast food restaurant when I left because I wasn't full. Maybe I'm greedy lol

    The restaurant advertises itself as a high end sophisticated establishment suggesting a dinner jacket just to seat you in a cramped diner booth. There was an undisclosed 20% service fee in addition to gratuity. When asked what it was for the answer was for the entertainment; a mediocre piano player who only played for an hour, and the ability to take your drink outside in the courtyard. The server equated it to a “resort” fee. The fore mentioned would have been tolerable if the food lived up to expectations, but it equally disappointed. Not recommended!

    We were turned away because of their dress code. Someone had called earlier to make sure of our reservation & that they now add a 20% gratuity. This person failed to mention anything about a dress code. We were all in normal tasteful business casual attire. They offered that we could sit at the bar or outside, but we wanted main dining. So we left & went to Bravo. We won’t be back. It was handled poorly by the staff. In addition they had only two people dining & a few people at the bar on a Saturday night around 6:45/7:00. Are they trying to go out of business?

    The wait was a bit long due to it being after Valentine weekend, I’m guessing. Overall I enjoyed dining there. This was my second experience and it was much better than the first one. The food is always great. My favorite are the lamb chops.

    The surprise 20% service charge mentioned only at the conclusion of brunch definitely waters down the experience and has me doing a little legal research. I hope it was worth losing a repeat customer. The ambience with piano is nice but not worth the 20 percent service charge, just shy of $25, which as explained is the purpose of the service charge!?! The piano only played for about 20 minutes during my visit. Over $1 a minute! It's a no for me. I always tip and this time was no exception but $183 ($24 for service charge plus $26 as a tip) for brunch for 3 with slow service, a cappuccino machine that took over 30 minutes to get going and the long wait for food says a lot has changed in such a short time. The pitcher of mimosa was $45. In fairness, my experience was much better in the past and hopefully they can get back to that. It's quaint and the piano is a nice touch but the seating makes it feel crowded even when it's not nearly at capacity. The cushioned seats are much too low. I'm full figured so I thought it was me but even my athletic son found the cushioned seat was too low as well and opted for the chair. He was planning to return for his birthday but decided based on brunch that it would be a cancelation for him. The food was ok and the wait staff was friendly but stretched thin which might explain the long wait. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions. There are too many other much nicer restaurants with better service and better food not beating customers down with the twenty percent service charge to let this be a staple establishment for me.

    Valentines dinner. Our first visit, but won’t be our last. Valentines, so the restaurant was slammed, which made service a little slow, but entirely understandable due to the crowd. Food was excellent, and we loved the live music.

    The food was tab bit on the salty side. I had shrimp spinach dip which was too salty to my likings and lamb chops which was salty as well but the sauce did balanced it out. I also had sweet potato cream brûlée, so good!! My husband had the ribeye 12 oz steak which was 60.00 dollars but not worth the price. The server could’ve been more attentive, kept forgetting things.. (but did understand she was pregnant). But overall the atmosphere great!

    Food is inconsistent. Crab claws were too salty. I usually love the Brussels Spouts. This time, they were overly charred. So I sent back for a new serving. It seemed they reheated them, placed them in a different container, and served them right back to me. The waitress offered an alternative, but we ended up just removing it from my bill. The fried fish was delicious, but the sweet potatoes did not have the color of freshly made potatoes. If LaCour wants to advertise and charge for upscale dining, they should consistently deliver meals that are tasty and appeasing. I’ve visited this restaurant about a dozen times, each time It has been hit or miss. One item would be great, another one would be served cold, or some other food choice would be missing. I so want to support this restaurant, but when other restaurants around the corner deliver outstanding meals and service every time, it will be hard to keep bringing friends here just to make donations.

    great food ; but a bit pricey .. example $20 "shrimp" dip had exactly 2 shrimp in a deep dish of 2 cheeeses; the cheeses are great.. but not enough shrimp to warrant a $20 price tag.

    The atmosphere was very classy and elegant. Our meals were delicious and satisfying. Really enjoyed the saxophone playing. A tad bit loud. It interfered with conversation. Overall, a wonderful experience. Will definitely return.

    Everyone in my party enjoyed their food very much! Super tasty. Our server was very personable and friendly. The live piano music set a wonderful mood. They just need to work on the speed of things. It took a very long time to put in for drinks and then to receive them, then to actually order food. Our app came out 3 minutes before our entree, which was an hour after we sat down. That being said, everyone is having a difficult time right now being short staffed, and we do understand that! Will definitely go back soon for the brick chicken and dirty rice!

    I was pleasantly surprised! My last two visits left a lot to be desired but they seem to be settling in. Getting drinks was still very slow but the food was excellent. My party’s food didn’t come out all together but when it did it was great! So happy to see this restaurant seem to be getting it right. Just add a 2nd bartender or stop the 1 from having multiple duties and your restaurant will excel!

    Restaurant only had 3 tables of people but we still waited over an hour for our entrees. Once it finally arrived, his arrived first and mine followed several minutes later. Food was OK (and just ok) but not worth a 1 hour wait. Waitress kept apologizing and was very nice but the kitchen needs to step up. also the website says they have a dress code for dinner and request gentlemen to wear sport coats - the table next to us was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt! Very disappointing!
