This is a dining experience that you should not miss if you are ever in Paris. Our waiter was excellent and the food, wine, and spirits were superb. I highly recommend the legendary Indian lamb curry which has been served since 1927.

Hsd a lovely meal of oysters, onion soup and profiteroles! Champagne served in a coupe! When I told the waiter I hadn't seen a glass like that in years he said we are La Coupole! Service attentive. However the restaurant did not have the reservation. Asked if booked online said yesm he said OpenTable? said yes he said they do not work with Open Table and that this happens all the time and I should contact them and complain. He did find a lovely table for dinner!

**La Coupole does not partner with OpenTable!!** When I arrived, my reservation was not received because they said they don't work with OpenTable. The hostess worked very hard to get my party seated however, which was greatly appreciated. Service itself was incredibly slow and food was mediocre. We got the French onion soup (2.5/5 too salty), the Indian curry (2.5/5 no flavor but tender meat), the sea bass (4/5), and tuna tartare (4/5).

I made my La Coupole reservation with the OpenTable App and when we arrived to the restaurant, the manager didn’t have any reservation in my name. I told him that I made the reservation through OpenTable and he said that is fake. That they don’t use OpenTable and that I was crooked

We made the reservation through Open Table and arrived on time only to be told that La Coupole DOES NOT WORK WITH OPEN TABLE. And therefore we did not have a reservation. We had to wait 30 minutes with our hungry 6 year old daughter for a table to become available. OpenTable needs to fix this.

We arrived at 846pm, was seated by 852am, provided my order by 858pm, but didn’t receive our appetizers until 940pm despite several inquiries to the waitstaff. We were then effectively ignored until we gathered the attention of the manager, who was pleasant and very understanding of our grievance. His gesture of empathy made a viable difference in our dining experience. Above all, the ambiance and food barely overshadowed the standoffishness of our waiter.

DO NOT BOOK VIA OPEN TABLE - WE ARRIVED AND THERE WAS NO RESERVATION BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY DON’T WORK WITH THEM. Fortunately, they did seat us but only after I asked if they could fit us in. The guy at the door wasn’t particularly helpful prior to that - just shrugging. My Opentable reservation since says completed so I can’t help but think something dodgy is going on there. It was frustrating as we had gone there especially and I do love the restaurant and food. It all worked out in the end, but if you want an actual booking then it’s better to use the restaurant’s system on its own website. I have contacted OpenTable about this situation as it seems according to other reviews on here, the situation is rife. OpenTable has been brilliant and contacted the restaurant (copying me in) asking them to update their system if they no longer want to receive bookings via the system. This is NOT an OpenTable issue as far as I can tell, but the restaurant as they had clicked that I was ‘assumed’ seated so saying they don’t use OpenTable is rubbish and I have no idea what the point of it is other than some weird scam to make sure all their tables are full!

La Coupole is an institution of Parisian dining. We went for a family lunch and the children were mesmerised by the ambiance. It was cheerfully noisy and full of Parisians. The staff were consummate professionals. The menu catered for both young and old. For me the highlight, as always, was the seafood platter which encouraged my kids to try various shellfish such was the presentation. This institution epitomises the gastronomy of Paris. We went to lunch after going to the top of Montparnasse 69 for a superb viewing of the city. The two are less than 10 minutes apart on foot….

I visited La Coupole several times over the past 30 years on my trips to Paris from London. I took my husband there for his first visit and he enjoyed it too. Booking is essential. We had an early booking (via OpenTable) but the restaurant soon filled up. Despite its size, you don't have to shout to be heard across the table. We opted for seafood starters and main courses. Note the desserts are large and a single creme brulee can easily be shared by 2-3 people. Great for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. We would like to acknowledge the service we received from Mirabella and Eric. We found out that Eric was new to La Coupole but obviously accustomed to providing good customer service.

Great place and experience! The only downside is that they actually don’t take Open Table bookings, when we arrived at the restaurant the hostess told us that they don’t work with Open Table. The restaurant was busy and luckily the hostess was kind enough to find us a table for two indoors. Food was amazing and service very efficient. We were surprised that they have an Indian Corner in the restaurant but could not see any Fusion India/ French dishes on the menu. Probably they were honoring India when we visited the restaurant. Restaurant is very well located, just outside Line 4 station. Place is highly recommended but please call in and make a reservation in advance as waiting lines could take an hour.

I visited La Coupole during my trip to Paris. Upon entering, the hostesses didn't want to accept my OpenTable reservation. Luckily, someone came over and accepted it. Food was ok but service unfortunately fell below my expectations.

Waiter made a mistake on our lobster order - no big deal, might have been our French, we accepted the mistaken order and he comped our frites. So maybe I should have given him 5 etoiles! Love La Coupole - been going there for 40+ years.
