Chocolate Mousse Red Coulis Sauce
Two of us had the pork shoulder which was just fabulous. You could cut it with a fork. Another guest had the Seafood crêpes in a champagne cream sauce. It was also spectacular. For dessert one had bread pudding (which she orders every time), chocolate mousse (which he orders every time), and the cream caramel. All were fabulous. The food is outstanding as well as the service. This is our third time eating here and will definitely be returning.
Always delicious, efficient and attentive. Cassoulet!
Food has changed over the past few years with the new ownership and there are some new and interesting dishes. Chicken croquettes for one. This is one of the better French restaurants in the area. We were there on a Friday night - it was packed and I think the waiters were a touch overwhelmed because the service was slow. We still highly recommend the restaurant and will probably just go on weeknights.
We had a lovely lunch on the enclosed patio. The waiter helped us pair wine with our meal. The warm bread was hard to resist. The food and service was excellent. We plan to go back again.
Charming. Nice selection on menu. Definitely worth a visit.
It was just wonderful! Delicious meal and great service.
Went to La Cote D'Or for lunch with the goal of determining whether our group's Christmas luncheon could be held there. The food was delicious, although the service was not as good as usual. The waiter forgot to bring my friend's coffee, and there was a bit of a wait between the appetizer and main dish. However, the chef/owner was very accommodating regarding our request to hold our Christmas luncheon there, and we decided to reserve the back room for our luncheon.
What a lunch we had!! It had been a number of years since we had the opportunity to return to this wonderful restaurant!! My son and I were in the area and came by to see the development of the new ownership. It has kept the best of the old and added a number of really wonderful new ideas: both in the ambiance of the place and in the menu seem better. Great service, lovely wine, and what food offered!!
wonderful food and service. get a table at the "sunroom" section if you can. reasonable prices. a bit hard to find parking as the area has a lot of restaurants and not enough street parking.
It was our first time here. Many recommendations on local sites and best restaurant lists. We love French, so why not. It was very good. Not on par the Bistro Le Hermitage, in any way, but an enjoyable dinner nonetheless. The three course $38 dinner is a steal. The French onion soup was great. The menu could be better, if substitutions were allowed. The menu is fish-heavy. We both liked our meals a lot. This place is a safe choice.
Came with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Had a great time. Food was delicious!
Chicken croquette appetizer was really good, as was the Beef Burgundy. LCD never disappoints!
This restaurant is a gem. Even as it filled up for lunch, the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, allowing for intimate conversation. The food is always superb, as is the service.
Underrated, delicious, bistro style restaurant! Highly recommend to anyone who likes French cuisine.
Service was extremely slow. We were there one hour before we were served any food.
We always enjoy la Cote D'or...it is quiet, which most restaurants today try to avoid. I guess they think if they aren't noisy, customers aren't having fun. They're wrong.
LCD has great menu, great ambience and service. Love the floating island for dessert.
The fix prix meal was fantastic and would recommend
Restaurant Week gem! Delicious apps, mains and desserts. All ordered different things—beet salad was so tasty with fried feta on top, pate was amazing with French bread, shrimp came with small square of scalloped potatoes that were so good, as was the broccoli topped with yummy sauce. Chocolate mousse, floating island, and cinnamon bread pudding with lots of walnuts—wow! OK, so we haven’t eaten out much in the last 18 months. This is a great place with good service, nice wines. They earn your business. Support ‘em!
Everything was great. We did one restaurant week menu option and one a la carte menu. The escargots and pate were both excellent appetizers. The two main courses, steak frites & trout were also very tasty as was the bread pudding. The service was great. No complaints at all.
As always it is pleasure to return to this small French restaurant.
We ordered from the three course meal menu and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, just the right amount of attentiveness to allow us to talk and enjoy our meal. I plan to go back again as soon as possible.
It has a wonderful French cafe feel and ambience.
Everything we ordered was excellent Pate, escargot, bouillabaisse, beef bourguignon, lamb chops and deserts. Also, even though they were busy and short staff, service was excellent. Very warm and cozy little restaurant with a country French theme.
Nice quiet well run restaurant with good food and service
I've had consistently wonderful dining experiences at La Côte d’Or. On my recent visit, I had lunch with a friend. Our food was delicious, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, the seasonings were perfection, and it was beautifully presented. We sat in the sun room which was light, airy, and perfect for lunch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very professional. Over the years, I've enjoyed lunch, brunch, dinner, and the Chef's tasting menu–each experience was perfect. I highly recommend La Côte d’Or.
Great service well prepared food with healthy portions. Prix Fixe menu is outstanding
We had a lovely lunch here. The staff are great and food always good. We love it because the tables are spaced out so that you can have a conversation without having to worry about the noise level.
Wonderful way to celebrate wedding anniversary
Always a solid night out - which was nice after over a year of just eating at home. The 3-course menu was a great value, the food was delicious, and the service was spot on. This restaurant is always a go to for our special nights out and it didn't disappoint.
Another good meal at LCD. Comfortable setting with fine service.
The food did not disappoint. The three course special was an incredible value. Cocktails were the only disappointment. Next we’ll just order a bottle of wine! Decent wine list.
We were in the area and looking for some escargot. It was excellent, as was the rest of the food and service. We will definitely revisit. Peppercorn steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Desserts were fantastic.
The chef’s 5 course prix fixe apple dinner highlighted tome amazing French cuisine -fabulous combinations to include apples in each course. Chef gave a talk before each course which was both informative and funny. The service was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. The patio room is so nice. Wonderful dining experience!
The staff were wonderful - warm and attentive. The food was very heavy and a bit old-fashined for a French restaurant. Overall it was fine.
Date w wife. Everything was good except the bread pudding dessert. That was lacking.
Nice dinner- decent house wine but wished the brand was listed.
The acoustics of Côte D'Or's narrow terrace room make that room unfriendly for those of us who wear hearing aids. The glass and other surfaces in the room reflect sound very efficiently, creating a loud background babble. This constant noise makes it very difficult for hearing-impaired elders to hear their dining companions. For the young, a loud indoor babble creates "energy" that translates into increased beverage sales in bars. But for those of us who want to talk to our friends and family over a nice meal in a peaceful environment, it can ruin our dining experience. Fortunately, there is an easy remedy: Offer a "quiet seating" option for those making reservations, and seat those customers in the quiet main room.
We had not been to this wonderful little French restaurant for quite awhile because of the pandemic. It had been a family favorite before and after our experience last night it will remain so. One of our favorite servers warmly greeted us, his service was impeccable and our food was excellent. We'll be back, hopefully more often if the pandemic subsides.
Wonderful evening at an establishment we have enjoyed going to for years! Pleasant and friendly service and the food was wonderful!
