This was our first inside a restaurant dinner in 14 months due to the pandemic. The restaurant has taken great steps to make it safe to dine inside. I would suggest keeping the plexiglass partitions up after the pandemic is over. They reduce the sound of nearby conversations.
We had a very friendly and attentive server. Food was delicious.
So nice to see a long time area restaurant survive and thrive in this pandemic era. The wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. The food was good quality and authentic very reasonably priced. We went for brunch and found it quite pleasant.
Most of the food (e.g., lamb chop) was excellent, but the veal chop was overcooked and I wished the chocolate mousse had been more "chocolaty". But overall a very pleasant evening!
French the way it was meant to be, solid food, good service, great atmosphere. The menu is unassuming and well executed. Will go back when I’m in the mood for steak frite and a bottle of Bordeaux and don’t want to spend a fortune.
Food was incredible and the staff was fantastic. Adorable place overall! My husband and I both got the escargot and could have eaten 10 orders of them.
Slow service, many menu items not available. Not enough wait service so orders got backed up. Ordered a salad to start but did not get till way after everyone after us got served and numerous complaints
Great food and ambience--like being in a Paris bistro
Great food, authentic atmosphere, very extensive menu. We’ll be back.
Lovely way to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
Warm Brie appetizer was very good as well as the crème brûlée dessert. The pâté appetizer should have been closer to room temperature in order to be less solid and have more taste. Served without toast or crackers. Dover sole could have been more buttery instead of including a brown sauce on plate. Rack of lamb unevenly cooked - one side medium but other side rare. Pear tart dessert should have been room temperature too so the pears would have had more flavor.
We had an excellent Easter Sunday brunch. Service was a bit slow because another party of 10 came at the same time. The staff were great and we will come back again.
Excellent food - a variety of good choices. La Cote D'Or has sensational salads -- where do they get standout butter lettuce all year? Their soups are wonderful, crepes authentic, and there's always a choice of light entrees as well as iconic French dishes. Just a lovely kitchen that deserves to continue. Very good safety procedures in place.
We had the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection.
Outstanding food! Coming back again! Highly recommend!
We absolutely enjoy and love this place! The food is great and it's a comforting reliable place where we can relax and treat ourselves. The service is attentive, the ambiance is calm.
Great food, service and setting.
We did two different prix fixe meals - the $38 one and the $46 one. The scallop appetizer unfortunately only came with one scallop. The scallop itself was excellent but the cold Brussels salad bed under it didn’t really seem like a great accompaniment. The other app - the goat cheese beet salad also was ok. I love beets but they were chopped and mixed with something else that detracted from the taste. The two main courses - seafood crepe and cassoulet - were both excellent. The desserts were good, unfortunately no chocolate to speak of but the bread pudding and creme caramel (french version of flan) were both tasty. Great service.
Charming and tasty bistro in Falls Church. Well worth a visit! Nice splastic pacers between booths which are also well- spaced for COVID .
Great meal with excellent service.
La Cote D'Or is always a good experience. The food is good and well worth the price, the staff is always very pleasant and overall it is a great place.
Very nice bistro menu with well-prepared dishes and friendly service.
Call ahead if you want to know their menu options As their website is not accurate. We went 2 days before Valentines on a Friday evening.
After checking online to see their specials and finding none, we were surprised that the only menu available was a prix fixed menu of $54 per person for Valentines weekend. We decided not to do that mainly because we were not hungry enough for all that food and were not going to be home to enjoy leftovers. Our past experiences have always been great food and service and we will be back ( it will call ahead).
A limited menu for Valentine’s Day but the selections available were very appealing. Together we had salad with mushroom en croute, rack of lamb, shrimp, a pear dessert and a white chocolate mousse with pistachio cream sauce. Outstanding. We will return regularly. We also purchased special cloth napkins to help out with a little Covid relief.
Me and my girlfriend went for restaurant week last week and it was amazing. The French onion soup was perfect and the waiter was super friendly. Would recommend to anyone, lemon tart and French onion soup were spectacular.
Have heard good reviews of this restaurant for years. Tried during restaurant week. Food was more than plentiful and very, very good. Cute place with indoor patio, where we sat. Service was very good. Highly recommend.
I came to the La Cote D'Or with my teenagers to share one of my old good memories. Their father and I had a romantic dinner at this restaurant about 20 years ago. My teenagers were impressed by its delicate taste and professional services that the restaurant could offered. Our choices were Escargots, Frog Legs, Belgium Endive Salad, Rainbow Trout with Crab meat stuffing, Rack of Lamb (medium-rare), Bouillabaisse, Cream Caramel, and Apple Almond Tarte. Each one of dishes was perfect. Passed forward a legacy to next generation, and hope this restaurant will continue running business.
We just love this place. It’s worth the drive from southwest DC for my friends and I. Tasty and a value. New server on my recent visit. Well trained and attentive. They deserve a big tip.
Phenomenal food, wine, service, and ambiance. Will definitely be returning.
The food and service was excellent. I felt like I had been transported back to France. The food was authentically French and delicious! I’ll be back tomorrow!
Went for brunch during Restaurant Week. Excellent Value as they let you order app, entree, and dessert from regular menu. Salad was tasty, seafood crepes were delicious, and floating island dessert fun to try (tartly available except in French restaurant s). Cute cafe ambiance, friendly staff, unexpectedly good, authentic French fare. A great discovery — iI will be back!
My French husband approves this restaurant! Truly a gem!
Food selection and preparation were excellent, service was very good
We will definitely return
This place was amazing in all aspects. The food and the service were awesome. Between my friend and I, we got the escargots, smoked salmon salad, salmon en croute and the veal. All were very very tasty. The bread pudding was a bit bland but we did take it to go.
We had been wanting to try this little bistro in East Falls Church for a while and finally had an opportunity to do so. It was outstanding. Small, cozy provincial atmosphere, tremendous value, and the food was excellent. In particular, the beef burgundy was exceptional, it just melted in your mouth exactly as it's supposed to. Some great green beans, too. Really fun, relaxed evening, I highly recommend it.
A classic. Perfect French food and drink. Pleasant atmosphere.
New Year’s Eve
Only had pre fixe menu when we went so that was a bit of a disappointment as the menu selections were sparse. However, what we had in appetizers, especially the escargot, was excellent. Main courses were very good for three out of four dishes, which was a bit disappointing since we expect at this price level that all dishes are excellent. And, dessert (only two options) were both not worth it. So, overall, somewhat inconsistent on food quality. Service was very good and attentive. But, at this price level, there are simply more satisfying restaurants.
Seafood crepe was good. And the warm bread with butter was perfect. The service was excellent.
