We've enjoyed our meals at La Costanera over the years. For the first time ever my meal was a little bland. Must've been an oversight in the kitchen. The Pisco Sours continue to please!
The ambiance was great but our server was very impatient, we felt rushed to place our order, then missed couple orders.
Food delicious. Service attentive. Noise level, ridiculousl
Loud wedding event going on downstairs. My bill was charged an extra $100. Out of a couple items on the menu. We had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation.
Get a Pisco Sour. Adobo Pork was fantastic. Grab a sunset dinner.
The swordfish was absolutely the most flavorful my wife and I every experienced. And the purple chips and salsa were an amazing appetizer.
The portions were larger than the previous ones we experienced. That was great! 😉
The food was great, our waiter's name was Alex and he was excellent, friendly, outgoing, big smile on his face. Also fantastic eye candy out the window, with the surfers walking by.
Weʻve been here a few times before. The food has always been fantastic. They take dining to new heights with their Peruvian food which absolutely delicious, imaginative, and unforgettable. Great service. Wish the wines were more moderately priced.
Excellent location and ambiance, authentic Peruvian food, friendly staff. definitely one of my favorites restaurants
It is very loud, but the view is great and the food is fine.
Beautiful location, but certainly no longer the innovative food experience of 4-5 years ago. Now a nice setting with average food. Ceviche was too sweet. Tuna pretty good & cooked well. Paella fresh but not as flavorful as it should be.
La Costanera was wonderful! We went to Peru on our honeymoon, so we decided to try La Costanera for our first wedding anniversary, and we had such a great time! The food is amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is beautiful and fun--the views from the dining room are spectacular. My one critique is that they pack in a lot of tables for dinner. My husband and I agreed that if they removed one table per row it would have been more comfortable for guests / created a better atmosphere. But it's really a super small critique--this place is amazing!! Highly recommend!!
We have been visiting this restaurant over the last few years and have seen the quality of food and service go down. The food is still good but main courses are served in small quantities. It's tough to get the attention of waiters and we had to ask for cutlery.
The amazing view of the ocean and the decor makes this experience perfect, and the food does not take away from that perfection! Enjoyed our fish of the day dish and wine. Highly recommended for a romantic date!
Loved food, wine, service & atmosphere. The big minus was the dirty table. All dishes, glasses etc. Including my sleeves stuck to the table. So yucky
Food was very good with no surprises...the waiter was able to recommend and assist. Spot on at that. Service is really good when you consider the layout and the variables brought on by the menu and kitchen. Even back to the days of the Chart House parking is ridiculous because surfers and beach "people" park there and don't leave resulting in frustrated patrons for the restaurant. Bad way to start a meal!
We were charged 6 dollars for a piece of bread that would probably cost them one dime. Not a good value place. Food was ok , but not worth the money we paid. The owner is too greedy.
Great spot! Best Peruvian food around! Great wine list. Special place indeed.
Absolutely fabulous - the chef keeps getting better beyond what I thought possible. Imaginative, delicious combinations for seafood.
Very noisy even if it was not full.
Nice view on the beach and surfers.
Waitress was not very proactive (didn't offer drinks while eating )
Food was very good.
Wir hatte sehr schönes Ceviche und leckeren Schwertfisch - der Sevice war schnell und aufmerksam
Great location. Scenic view of the ocean.
Very special, authentic food. Colorful and great
So glad we planned ahead and made reservations while visiting the area. This beachfront restaurant serves delicious Peruvian meals in a vibrant setting.
Food and service was great. Parking is the only problem.
Great food, nice view and service , hard to get a reservation
One of the top 5 restaurants I have visited in my entire life! Amazing!
This was our second time there. After the first, we vowed to go back - the food was really good. This time, while the soup and mac/cheese/lobster dish were excellent, both my wife's seafood and rice dish and my pork shoulder were exceptionally salty. The au gratin potatoes with my meal were delicious. Just the two main courses had the salt issue. We may go back and see what the two out of three average is.
Wonderful evening! Food was special. View had lots of interesting activity to watch.
Excellent experience, we will certainly be back to try the rest of the menu.
Loved it. Made a reservation, had a great table with a gorgeous view. The food was delicious and our server attentive. Can't wait to go again! Thank you!
The arrogant (borderline rude) attitude of the hostess, ignoring of table reservation, hot room temperature (no fans, no A/C), high noise level, extremely tight furniture layout and the wobbling table made us feel like we’re in a mass processing facility, and not at a special place to celebrate a birthday. There was no welcoming feel at all. Fast turn around of tables felt priority #1. Very disappointing, and too bad as the food was excellent. Wonder why the owner is opting for this atmosphere and poor customer service, instead of creating something really special here; a place where people long to come back to. I hope it’ll change for the better one day. Until then, we can just ‘warn’ others, so they can choose a different restaurant and have a nicer experience for their special occasion.
Alex was our server and he is so great! We've been lucky to have him serve us a few times now and each time is amazing! Very attentive and always with a smile on his face. This great service is the cherry on top to the delicious food La Costanera has to offer!
This is our go to place. Food is always yummy. I ordered the Pescado a lo Macho the past couple of times and it’s always my fave. Also ordered the yucca balls appetizer which are yummy too. Glad this restaurant is only 8 minutes away.
Shrimp tasty a bit old
Nice place with great views of Pacific. Food is so-so. Portions very small. Very expensive.
Food it's great as well as service, ambiance and waterfront
Excellent food! Great view! Slow service (which didn’t bother me). Noisy (which also didn’t bother me).
My advice would be to eat downstairs in the bar if you can. Upstairs can get pretty loud and zooey.
I love the beauty of this restaurant but this last time we went the service was horrible. It took 2 hours to get our food and when I complained to the General Manager (Al) he did NOTHING other then apologize and say "I can not make excuses".
They clearly are short staffed. The food is just ok and quite pricey. Great place for drinks and appetizers but I would stay clear for a formal meal.
