We had 12 for a birthday dinner and it was terrific. The service was excellent and every single guest raved about the food.
Loved almost everything about it, however, it was very loud.
A terrible reservation system. We had to wait 45 min for a table with an open table reservation. Staff seemed clueless.
View is awesome and that’s pretty much it. Service is awful, servers/hostesses are rude. It is unreasonably expensive given the food is not so good. Total rip off!
This was our 2nd time for dinner. we had the mussels for an appetizer and they are delicious! We had the fish stew again while very good this time it was much more sauce than fish like the last time. The fish paella was wonderful as well as the chocolate flourless dessert. My lemon drop was perfect. I will say that our reservation was at 5 when they open and there was already a line waiting. It was super windy & freezing! Please open the doors so we can wait inside until seating.
Discriminatory service & even though I had a reservation for a ocean side table , I was denied one while walkin whites were pleasently offered 4 such tables in front of us.
Overpriced drinks. Service was ok. Food was good.
Definitely not worth it. $230 for 2 adults, 2 kids, no alcohol. $40 steak was very tough.
I first heard about La Costanera when they got their Michelin star and since then I have been eager to go to Halfmoon Bay to eat there. Unfortunately, they lost their Michelin star and now they don't even merit a bib. The food is mediocre at best and flavorless. They try to mask poor quality with sauces. This definitely not a Michelin star restaurant and I understand why they lost their star.
Great food, great view, great dining experience!
This was a basic touristy restaurant. Service was not very attentive and the food was not very good.
The food, as usual, was wonderful! Had (as usual) a seafood paella. A bit disappointed that they are no longer incorporating squid ink into the rice, but - that aside- the meal was up to its usual great standards!
We have lived in the area for 5 years and this was our first time at la Costenera . Excellent service from Alex ! Great food ! We ordered several dishes and they were all amazing !
We have visited several times over the years and have never been disappointed. Wonderful Peruvian cuisine. Attentive but not obnoxious service. Reservations a must on busy nights. You will leave satisfied.
Food is spectacular, full of flavor in every bite. Everything that we ordered was delicious. Service is really attentive and friendly. It's a bit pricey, but good for special occasion. The only downside was a) the noise, b) the fact that they charged for garlic bread without letting us know and c) the dessert was not impressive at all (we had churros, it was very oily and not crunchy at all). But overall the experience was great, we'd would definitely come back.
Food was amazing and the service was excellent! Will definitely come back soon!
We celebrated our third anniversary with a trip to Half Moon Bay. I wanted to find just the right place for a special meal and La Costanera delivered. The view was spectacular, the service warm and attentive but not hovering, and the food, culinary art. La Costanera was offering a prixe fix menu that evening with several choices for the first two courses, a amuse to start, cava, and a trio of desserts. I had cebiche and osso bucho. My husband had lamb. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Everything was wonderfully seasoned and beautifully presented. (We took pictures of each course.)
Have eaten here several times, and always delicious! Beautiful views with the sunset.
Great food and service. Seating not comfortable. Chairs uncomfortable, lighting too bright. Felt cramped.
