Mole Enchiladas (Enmoladas)
Baked Chicken Enchiladas Served with Mole Sauce Topped with Peanuts, Sour Cream & Avocado Accompanied with House Rice and Beans
Very fun ambiance. The employees are very warm and welcoming. The food is so good. The best lilikoi mai tai. Better, bigger, and stronger than monkey pod’s
We had such a wonderful dinner at this new spot! I highly recommend the nachos, chicken enchilada and short rib tacos! The enchiladas are probably enough to share for two people (it comes with 3) and the tacos also could be shared.. amazing service! Go early !
Food was excellent. Servers were personable and rather prompt. Tables were set less than six feet apart. Host consistently told customers they did not need to show proof of vaccination.
DEEEElicious!!! Pina coladas, Mai tais, green enchiladas, pablano dip, guacamole, short rib tacos, it was all favoilus. Fun place. Attentive and fun service too!
Food was good but poor service. Took over 20 minutes to get a drink and then they were terrible. I understand places are understaffed due to Covid but for example the waiter took our order then ran and waited on multiple other tables before putting our order in.
Very good Mexican food. Some of the best guacamole you will find. Great service. The place is extremely casual. The ambiance is nothing special but the place is perfect for dinner after a trip to the beach.
First time visitor. Seated promptly and good service. Drinks were super strong, didn’t finish them. Two of us had blackened Mahi tacos; very bland and dry. Other two guests had pizza, which they enjoyed. Probably won’t go back.
Enchiladas were excellent, service was ok - drinks were slow to arrive, but food came pronto. Sat outside, good thing to do in the current environment.
Our waiter was excellent! He made our dining experience great! They were out of pizza when we got there but the food we did eat was really good.
We chose this restaurant bc of the diverse menu… everyone in our party was feeling like different things some tacos others pasta and pizza… so disappointed that upon arriving they were only serving Mexican. They said due to staffing issues they were serving limited menu … just wish we would have known before we went.
We did enjoy the nachos and short rib birria tacos
It was a busy night but not overwhelmingly. Staff was getting their job done.
Older guy at hostess desk could use some training. We were standing there along with another group behind us. He never acknowledged or looked up at us as we stood their waiting.
He was too busy helping 2 people, who weren’t even going to eat there as they were waiting for their reservation at the Monkey Pod.
They just wanted drinks! They could have gone into the bar and ordered. Instead we all stood there waiting while they looked at the menu and then ordered from the host, then we stood there longer while he tried to figure out how to ring it in. Never acknowledged the people standing their to eat dinner who were waiting!
The chips and salsa were awful. Chips were odd, seemed like poor quality. The salsa was TOMATO SAUCE!!!! with a few bits of what you would put into salsa like onion and cilantro. Still just tasted like tomato sauce right out of a can. You guys really need to step it up, that’s embarrassing to pass as salsa.
We asked for Pico de Gallo, that was decent and fresh :-) but those tortilla chips…. No Bueno quality.
The mai tai’s with Lili koi foam were delicious! Almost like the monkey pod! The other drinks looked delicious on the menu and look liked many patrons were enjoying their cocktails.
Bacon wrapped shrimp was a winner, so there’s a plus.
We decided to just split the short rib tacos. Glad we didn’t order anymore food. The meat was tasteless, the double shells were really greasy, maybe they just lightly deep fried soft shells? Then there was a this sauce on the side not sure what it was. I dipped my taco in it. Tasted bland like maybe the unseasoned meat drippings?
We ate about 1/4 of a taco each and called it quits.
This place would be good for a cocktails but has a LONG way to go with the food improvement. Get decent chips at Costco and get rid of tomato sauce
Pizzas were not available so couldn’t tell you about those.
Nice but exhausted staff. Felt bad for them. Food just okay.
Second visit; both times were great! Highly recommend!
The pozole verde soup and green enchiladas were amazing.
I highly recommend la Catrina Cantina.
Probably should have listened to the other reviews. We had pretty much the same experience. Food is good but the place is a mess. Why they are allowing so many people to dine when they clearly can’t handle it is a mystery. They stopped pizza orders cause they were too backed up but continued to do to go orders. They are extremely poorly managed. They’ll be good if they can get it together though.
Your average Mexican restaurant. The Pizza oven broke, which was unfortunate. Service was great though and gave great recommendations.
The Birria tacos were amazing! They were trying hard to get food out even though very busy due to the holiday crowd.
I’ll start with the good. The food was great. Everything we ate was really good. The bad. There were two servers for maybe 18 tables. And to make matters worse, they had tons of tables set up in the parking lot to grab even more business- even though they didn’t have anywhere near enough staff to take care of everyone. And the parking lot tables weren’t due to COVID and spacing. It was simply about adding revenue. So I have zero reason to take pity on the restaurant for being short staffed. The service was some of the worst I’ve ever had. Nearly 30 mins before our drinks arrive. 40 mins before the apps arrived. The waitress was MIA most of the night. Well over an hour before our entrees arrived. The manager never once stopped by to say a word. Drinks were wrong when they arrived. Took forever to get it fixed. Then when the bill came they had over charged us. When I mentioned it to the waitress she came back a few mins later and brought the menu and claiming it was right. I politely pointed out where she was wrong. She agreed and then went away to fix it. When she came back she said that for our troubles they had taken something off our bill. Except they didn’t. Instead they actually added even more stuff to our bill. You can’t make this stuff up. When they finally sorted it out and corrected the bill they never took off the stuff they said they would. At this point we’re just ready to get the hell out. It’s a shame- food was good. Service was infuriating. Would never go back after that experience. They just don’t care.
Food was ok not that great , margaritas had too much of ice I didn’t like it :(
This place could be great. Food needs fine tuning, but is generous. Regular pizzas were better than Mexican dishes. Service was friendly and good. Very loud.
We are Vegan and ordered the 3 dishes:
Cauliflower appetizer with 2 dips
We shared all-perfect!
Food was good but not great. Some things were better than others. Like the red enchiladas the sauce was not very good. It almost tasted like pizza sauce on top of an enchilada, however, the green sauce on the the enchiladas suizas was very good. Great ambiance and bar. Simple and casual.
We’ve been to Maui several times and generally eat at the same local restaurants but decided to try something new. Our food was mixed - some was very good, some left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for chips and salsa, and they brought way too few chips for our party of six - especially in light of how long it was taking food to come out of the kitchen. I know the labor shortage is hitting most restaurants right now, but the service was quite poor.
One of my favorite places to eat on island. I love their food and artwork
Not true Mexican food , limited. Sold lots of regular pizza
Excellent food and service. Quality at reasonable cost. A little gem for Mexican food
Was hoping for better taste and value. Interior small and service slow
We wanted to try out the new restaurant so we chose to go there for my husband’s birthday. The drinks were delicious and so was the stuffed shrimp. My husband really enjoyed the mahi mahi. My breaded chicken was a bit overdone. We’ll be back!
Everything was great .,pricey but good .
Good food, excellent service and reasonably priced.
Food was sooooo good!! Pozole was super ono and the drinks were fantastic too.
Loved the menu choices and all of the vegan options. Will be back for sure!
Great food! Fun place to go with kids, a casual setting at a great price
Wonderful restaurant! So great that we have a new place in the area. The service was wonderful and the food was fresh and delicious.
Great restaurant in Wailea. Delicious food and cocktails. Staff and chef extremely friendly. Authentic Tex-Mex. Fun experience with a very “local” feel. Recommended!
Mike and staff were amazing. Food was incredible!
Great Pizza and stuffed shrimp. Very loud long wait for drinks. Would definitely go back. Drink wait due to staffing issues, sadly the standard for these times.
Green enchiladas with chicken was delicious. Mahi-mahi tacos were good, but a little too fishy taste. (I know, it is fish, but it had a stronger odor and taste than usual). Waitstaff provided wonderful service. Will dine again.
Very good dining experience. We enjoyed some tasty Mahi Mahi tacos and the restaurant and server accommodated my wife’s special request despite being slammed with a long line of waiting patrons. The value, considering other restaurants in the area and overall across Maui, is very fair.
The atmosphere is ok, long and narrow profile, relatively cold with poured concrete floors, though has some fun paintings and wall art.
This was one of the worst Mexican gm food experience we had - food was oily - poorly presented
Servers seemed to just be in a hurry to get stuff done
Very poor experience
