La Casa Di Lucia - Philadelphia

We got there right on time. The hostess seated us and then we waited. Nobody came over after that. No water, no bread, no silverware not even a hello or eye contact from the waitstaff that was continually walking by. NOTHING. We eat out every Sat night, sometimes going to very nice places and sometimes staying local. This is local. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER. Oh yea, the place was not very crowded at all, it was early about 6:30 pm. As we were getting up to leave the hostess came over ( maybe it was her first night but I doubt it) she asked what’s wrong? Why are you leaving? So I told her. Her response was that the owner isn’t going to like this and won’t you please stay? I then told her why we are leaving and she acted very surprised, like nothing was wrong. That’s when I got a little rude and told her to shove it. The guy in the wheelchair who I think was the owner told her you just lost another customer for me. I blame him for letting that old hag work for him. If he was so damn concerned he wouldn’t have let this happen in the first place let alone happen again. We just walked out. I don’t know how this place stays in business treating people this way. From the owner to the waitstaff all I saw was incompetence. Stay away from this place if you want nice, friendly service because you won’t find it here.

The tuna antipasto alone is worth the trip. Food good value for cost, plenty of choices and big servings. Really enjoy this spot.

We had heard about this restaurant but never ate there before. The menu was varied, our choices were excellent and the portions generous. The waitress was helpful and so sweet. The owner came to see to our needs, the cook even stopped by. We were very happy with this choice and will definitely return and often.

Once again, a pleasant and very tasty time... good Italian food, and good pricing (especially on lunch and early-bird entrees ! ) Although there was some confusion with a new server, other more experienced staff pooled together to give us the delicious meal we awaited. Especially good are the fish choices, and the fish quality, from salmon to tilapia or flounder...with a tasty twist. Mama Lucia was also on hand to enhance the cozy feeling of this neighborhood gem... If/when you go 'early,' it's a really good deal...all around !

Good food and drink. La Casa di Lucia is one of the few restaurants in our area which actually offers their delicious calamari the correct sauteed way ! A good set - up for live music here too .

Outstanding fish entrees on the menu, regularly. We took an early dinner at 3PM, as we skipped lunch!

No other patrons in the dining room; a few folks sitting at the adjoining bar.

The soups were delicious, vegetable side dishes cooked el dente, and the fish (flounder) very fresh.

Our server was quite engaging. We have very interesting conversations before ordering and thereafter. The conversation made for a memorable dining experience.

First time we were there and was very disappointed from the service to the food.. wont be back and would not recommend to friends.

Service was great , food was mediocre and the ambiance was from the 50’s. Definitely needs a complete face lift and upgraded food.

It is wonderful that they also have live piano lounge music here in their bar area ! We need a lot more places such as this around .

My spouse and I eat here once every few months, usually for an early dinner but sometimes for an after church lunch on Sundays. The food, especially the fish and veal dishes are quite good. There’s beer on draft and an ok list of wines (reasonably priced).

The owners are a frequent “fixture” at this dining establishment. There’s a separate room for parties!

You won’t be disappointed if you dine here!

La Casa is very authentic for good-tasting Italian food in an informal and friendly setting. My husband is very fond of the chicken marsala and of the marinara sauce in his side of angel hair. I am very happy with either the shrimp scampi or the good old fashioned linguini + sausage, also with marinara sauce. Both of us especially love the "early bird" options on weekdays ! Well worth the ride !!

A lot of traditional Italian fare. We had fish dishes that were well prepared- per usual. Reasonable prices. Ok wine selection- not extensive.

Nice Italian dinner spot with reasonable prices & singers on Thursday thru Sunday evening. Lively bar. Many regular customers. Especially like Tony Rad ( great entertainer) on most Saturday nights singing all the classics from Nat King Cole & Frankie Avalon thru Bread.

"Lucia's" is a fine favorite for authenic and 'al-dente' good Italian food ! As seniors, we especially enjoy the 'early-bird ' which is a great deal, including the soup/salad, entree, and a tasty dessert ! The servers have been obliging, and we are quite satisfied with the atmosphere. Even 'Lucia' herself appears regularly and makes her rounds, creating a family-friendly feeling. Only the parking may become challenging, as this is situated in a mini-strip mall with limited close parking...getting there at off-times is best.

When we walked in and said we had an OpenTable review, the person seating us had a small fit and said "I told them not to do OpenTable. We don't need OpenTable." It was a bizarre start to the evening. We thought the restaurant was going to be nicer than it was. The food was okay. Service was just okay.

We went on a Thursday night and Peter Venneri was entertaining. He was very good and people were dancing. A fun place. The music was everything from Sinatra to Bobby Darin and 50's. The food is better than average, we had a pizza and wine. Would go again.
