Owner and Chef Pedro Alarcón serves simple, authentic, scratch-made dishes that highlight the traditions of his native Venezuela and broader Latin American heritage.
Every guest who walks through La Casa de Pedro’s doors may as well be walking through the entrance of Pedro’s own home; there is no difference in the level of welcoming hospitality. Pedro’s is designed to transport guests to a tropical getaway.
Colombian paintings of tropical fruits and landscapes adorn the walls; the bar is decorated with vibrant Spanish tiles; colorful plates and bird cage accents have been collected from markets throughout Latin America; and, oversized live palm trees, adorned in lights, add a whimsical touch.
If this wasn’t enough to whisk guests away, the Latin music on weekends should do the trick!

We found the atmosphere to be great but the quality of the food didn't quite match the somewhat steep prices for this style of food. We went once and while we're glad we stopped in, we won't be back.
The ambiance is great, the food is good, I think the food is a little overpriced.
I cannot write an accurate review of my friend's 40th Birthday dinner at La Casa de Pedro Tapas and Ceviche Bar because they CLOSED a couple of days before our reservation without any notice.
We had to scramble to find another restaurant that still had an available reservation. I am disappointed 1.) that the restaurant closed. 2.) That OpenTable did not notify us of the closure.
RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED!!! How can we make a reservation for somewhere not open.
Food overpriced, too loud
Steak came out over cooked after waiting an hour. Took 30 minutes to bring out correctly cooked steak. Was then charged TWICE for said steak - told management who “graciously” removed just ONE of those extra streak charges from our bill and an appetizer instead of just refunding the DOUBLE steak charge altogether ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really like this restaurant, I have eaten there on a handful of occasions each time with different company. It works for birthdays, friends catching up, or taking the family out to dinner when they are in town visiting. The servers and bartender were all very friendly this time. I do think it's in a funny location, and I hope they do good business regardless because I would hate to see it go away! It's usually quiet here because it's one of the few restaurants not directly on the water in this neighborhood.
Depending on the night, it could be quiet and great for easy conversation, on other nights it could be packed, with a great live band but obviously a more lively scene. We went on a rainy Thursday in June, it was quiet and a great place to meet foodie friends who flew in from out of town. Food was delicious; we tried 4 ceviches and 4 Tapas plates. Nothing I wouldn't recommend, all was tasty. Staff and owner friendly and the real deal. Hope to return soon.
We went for my friends birthday and had a Fabtastic time!
Very good food and great service ! Very happy with the place
A bit pricey, but it the food and drinks are great!
The staff was pleasant and accommodating to the parties dietary needs.
The location was great, but the food quality and service were sub-par.
The location is very convenient to Bluehills Pavillion, and the outdoor patio dining is great. While we were there, the bar ran out of limes (?) so we had to wait for our margaritas. Also, the service was a bit slow and they kept trying to give us the wrong food and we got the wrong bill. The drinks and food were very good though.
Expensive, even for tapas.
Was great. I really liked it a lot. The live band. Food was good. Food did take a little long to arrive but overall experience was nice. Had an awesome time with my husband on my birthday:) employees seemed to be pleasant. Owner was really nice also.
Food was great and so were the drinks. Service was okay.
$27 for an 8 oz piece of salmon on a bed of arugula is not good value. The salmon was also not seasoned at all and the arugula with quinoa didn't have any dressing. We want to support Pedro so desperately, but please ask a back end mgr to check the meals before they come out and make adjustments when necessary
I decided to give this place a try with my family and friends. We were a mix of people from Latin America and wanted to try staple foods on the menu representative of Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine. We took a table for Sunday brunch. The ambiance is festive and friendly but not overly so. Our waiter was attentive and helpful explaining questions about the menu. The table shared empanadas with black beans and cheese, arepa reina (corn tortilla with guacamole style mix on top), arepa perica (corn tortilla with eggs, tomato, and onion mix on top), yucca with cilantro sauce, and potatoes in hot sauce. Other people ordered ceviche and sancocho (a hearty chicken soup). It was plenty of food for our table but we tend to like smaller portions. The empanada crust was outstanding though for this one dish, I did think the portion could be a little bigger (they were just that good). Every dish was tasty and well balanced. The music group sang romantic Spanish oldies at a pleasant sound level. We ended our meal sharing a tres leches cake that was just the right amount of moist and sweet (as good tres leches should be).
Service was incredibly slow. It wasn’t busy and took a very long time. It was disruptive because we asked for things like hot sauce, silverware, and dessert menus so we had to wait on each other. There was no one to check in and refill waters. The week prior the quesadilla portion size was much larger.
I am a Waterside Place resident and try to come and invite my friends like I did on Monday, but my friends don’t want to go because the service is so bad. I keep trying but the pricing on drinks is expensive and we can find better value across the street.
Took asking a couple of times to get water glasses refilled.
We were slightly confused because we had 2 waiters so we never knew who to ask for want.
The food is EXTREMELY expensive and the service sizes are TINY. Further it wasn’t very good food, especially for the prices. I got a coconut mint mojito which was delicious but had barely any (if any) alcohol. They also sat us about 10 feet from the live band so we couldn’t hear anything the entire night. Finally my sister and I said we were going to split the ceviche trio sampler for dinner, and #1 they brought it out as an appetizer instead, and #2 any good waiter would have warned us that it wasn’t enough food to feed a toddler let alone 2 grown adults- we ended up having to order more food (nachos and quesadilla) which weren’t even good (seriously how do you mess that up?). Overall, EVERYTHING about this place was disappointing- won’t be coming back even though I live only 1 block away.
Very convenient to the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. The server was very personable and helpful. I had an draught IPA that was excellent. Langoustines were perfectly cooked and very tasty. We love the variety you get with tapas.
The food portions are extremely small for the prices.. I ordered ribs priced at $16.50 & when my plate arrived, it was 3 small ribs. You have to order sides to accompany your dish.
Great food and service for a good price!
We loved this restaurant!!! We definitely recommend it for a fun group outing?
Went for Mother’s Day and my mother loved it (it was her first time going). Our waitress was very kind and our food was delicious!
The food was amazing. I love thag they offer valet service which is better priced than the garage.
The perfect location to celebrate Mother's Day!! We had a party of 8 and the service was very good and not to mention the food...DELICIOUS!! I can't wait to go back!!! I truly recommend Casa De Pedro for an upscale dining with authentic Latino food!!!!
Wonderful food in “European size” portions - not humongous “American” portions. So tapas can be individual or shared with the table. The sangria is to die for and worth the price of a pitcher if 4 or more are getting drinks. The desserts were heavenly, I highly recommend the Tres Leche cake. The service was excellent.
Thanks. Great Poke.
This was our second time here. The waiter was good, very friendly and the food was so delicious. It was a Sunday evening, with a DJ, playing good music. Neither time we’ve been however it’s not been busy. Makes us sad. Hopefully it does get popping other nights
We visited La Casa de Pedro for a Sunday Brunch and enjoyed it very much. The menu offers
a variety of foods designed to suit anyone's palate and everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be back.
My guy & I went out for Cinco de Mayo with 8:45p reservations. We were seated in the back near the kitchen and bathroom, so it was constant traffic. We saw our waiter twice over the two hours it took us to order and get our food. We had to fight with gnats all evening swarming around our heads and food. We had to asked multiple times for silverware and our check and we finally got out of there at 11p. The two girls sitting beside us dealt with the same issues and ended up leaving before they got their good because they couldn’t get any service.
Overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. Service was good. But I will not recommend nor would I go back.
Food was absolutely wonderful - best tacos we've had! It was nice to have some vegan options to accommodate both of our eating preferences. Had a wonderful meal, and the wine selection was completely reasonable and excellent. Cannot wait to go back!
Best service ever, very friendly, owner will make you feel at home. Great job!
La Casa de Pedro is a gem of a place...food fabulous, service attentive, and ambiance welcoming...will definitely visit again!
First time at this place and I had an amazing experience with everything!!!
Love this place, excellent ambient and outstanding service.
