La Carnita - Winnipeg
Great location, the restaurant is beautiful and very unique. Delicious cocktails and tacos! The service is amazing, the 2 servers we encountered were very friendly & knowledge!
This place was amazing! Our server Payton WAS AMAZING :) FANTASTIC SERVICE! The music was very loud. Overall was a very Nice restaurant.
the food was delicious and the service was great. We had a late addition to our table and they they able to get their order to us so quickly making the lateness seem not too matter.
A great spot for drinks after work and the tacos were amazing.
Good food, in a comfortable and nice ambient with a fair price. It’s a good place to go with friends, drink and listen some music.
Only comment about the food was that was on the cold side. And was disappointed no blender drinks are available!
Great venue. Limited menu could be their down fall. Food was very good though. Everyone had the nachos and tacos. Probably the best nachos we have had in a long time.
The restaurant & food were good. I do have a little beef with Open Table Reservations. I have requested a highchair for our group as well as specified it was a birthday dinner. When we arrived and shown to our table, there was no highchair made available (I had to request it again) and there was no mention by the staff at La CArnita about the birthday.
The food was delicious. We had the three tacos. Each one was better than the last one. Great margaritas.
Another lovely meal and evening!
The menu was very limited and even more so since I have a shellfish allergy and they deep fry everything including the nachos in the same deep fryer as the shrimp. This meant I had only 3 or 4 tacos to choose from and nothing else on the menu. Very disappointing that with all the info about allergies they wouldn’t have a superset fryer
Food wasn’t great but extremely high. The salad I had was bland. I would give the tacos 6.5/10
Fabulous food, great variety and awesome ambiance! Hubby hated his margarita though 🙈
My partner and I went here for our last dinner meal in Winnipeg, which happened to be taco Tuesday. The cocktails were amazing, the location and atmosphere were on point, and the tacos were to die for. 11/10 would recommend!
This was our first visit, but it won't be our last! We tried an assortment of tacos and tostadas. Each one was excellent. I highly recommend the "In Cod we Trust" taco - delicious! The Carne Asada was also very good. Drinks were tasty, and the churros were a nice ending to a fabulous meal!
Tried the place without knowing anything of it (walked-in). Food was great and exotic, service was perfect! Worth every penny
The food was mediocre and not up to other similar Mexican food standards in Winnipeg - good service and ambiance though. The taco chips were odd - with some tasting ‘old’ and a lack of consistency in the texture/crunch. The dips were all very excellent. The tacos were ordinary and the shells were a little soggy. The beer and wine were great.
Really enjoyed the taco's and very good service. Nice atmosphere and decor.
Food and servers were excellent. The music was a little too loud, maybe where we were seated, so it was sometimes hard to hear each other. The menu is great, could maybe add some burrito options. We will definitely return.
Came to celebrate my birthday with friends. Absolutely amazing service, ambience and food! 10/10 would recommend d
Our experience at La Carnita was a good one. The old bank building it is located in is very cool and our server was fun! We enjoyed the pitcher of margaritas! Our food was very tasty although we would have liked a little more variety. We had looked at the menu online and were looking forward to trying the pollo loco chicken however that was not available on the Winnipeg menu.
Great food. Love the corn
Will definitely be back
Excellent experience overall. Loved the atmosphere and all the delicious flavours in the dishes we had! Service was also top notch. Felt like we were in a different city all together. Would highly recommend it!
very good family experience. service and food were impeccable. highly recommend.
Every bit as great as the TO location.
The only “problem” was we ended up having an additional guest and even though the restaurant was empty, we were unable to pull another table. Our guest sat at the end of our four top but it did make for a crowded experience. However that said our server was amazing at clearing any empty plates glasses etc.
Attentive service. Nice atmosphere. Great for pre Concert Hall events.
Fantastic food. Good value for the price. Small menu which is rare but welcome. I’ll definately be back again!
The food was delicious. We had made a reservation 2 hours before our show at the Concert Hall. We waited just over 1 hour for our first order of tacos to come to the table. The server said the kitchen was busy but everyone around us was served. The place was very busy. I would eat here again but was disappointed we weren’t able to try everything we wanted from the menu due to the long wait and our time constraints.
It was a busy night so the restaurant was pretty packed. It's a nice little spot. The wait staff were all dressed in regular clothes so that made it a little difficult to identify them. The food was insanely good, we will definitely come back
Service is friendly and warm, the food is flavourful and exciting, and the drinks are strong and fun. Great way to spend time with loved ones.
Finally, a decent "Mexican" restaurant in Winnipeg - something we've been waiting for since The Mexican Village/La Haciena went out of business!
And it's more than decent. While certainly not an "authentic" Mexican restaurant, this taqueria exudes a modern California vibe! We can't wait to go back!
Not a lot to pick from our the menu, very small portions and not a good value for your money... great look and feel but smelt like dirty feet!
I would not go back
Great place to go for tacos. Not garbage taco bell tacos, but fancy ones. We arrived a bit early and our table wasn’t ready. No biggie. But the staff there seated us at and gave us a complimentary chips and dips platter while we waited. Fantastic customer service.
While visiting Winnipeg for the first time we had a list of several places to go. This was our first stop for the week. The special was corn on the cob and though our server had worked there a "lifetime" he claimed. That was pretty much the only thing that came outta his mouth. Tacos were delicious, margaritas smooth. Great place for sure!
Modest portions but that allows you to try multiple items.
I absolutely love this place! Our first visit and will most definitely be back. I am Celiac and must eat gluten free, adore good, authentic Mexican food and margaritas and gorgeous venues with good ambiance-La Carnita is my new go to fave for all these reasons.
What really impressed me was the customer service our server was impressive, helpful, knowledgeable on the menu, gave suggestions and was friendly. I work in the customer service industry a Manager at a Financial Institution and my friend is a Manager of client care, both of us commented on the great service we thought the best service we had experienced in a restaurant Downtown Wpg in the last year our standards are very high so a big thumbs up 👍 to the team 🌸👌 The food was delicious we had the hard taco platter, Churros & the Carnita Margarita 👌👏
Very nicely done Mexican food outside the pedestrian nachos and burritos. Fresh, loaded with veggies and flavours. Nice room - an old bank with high ceilings. Service could be kicked up a notch. Servers need some professional and classic training. The servers take the stylish room and food down to a cafeteria/diner feel.
