La Carbonara Ratings and Reviews
Overall, La Carbonara is consistent with quality of food and level of service with both being very good. I will say that I tried to use Opentable dining points and La Carbonara rejected the gift card even though it clearly stated the restarurant's name and address on it. Opentable reimbursed the points to me. It was embarrassing to say the least as I was treating friends to a dinner. Anyway, I would recommend La Carbonara for a casual, italian dinner.
There were fourteen of us, not quite an impromptu gathering, immediately welcomed and settled. And then the foods began to arrive, and each one was wonderful. Paired with the wine we chose, it just kept getting better and better. What was particularly special for us all was the attentive service, and the welcoming humor with which it was done. As for the desserts ... a stunning selection, nothing cloying, each terrific. And then, as if we hadn't had enough, we were served their signature cheese cake. Truly special and delicious and worth a bunch of !!!!!
i hope that this restaurant can improve its service. our food was not bad at all, but the service was remarkably poor. staff seemed disorganized and were slow to take orders. they were not always knowledgeable about the menu. every course was verrrrrry slow to arrive. the room seemed noisy and confused as customers looked around for their servers.
I've liked this restaurant for years although i don't get there often- This time it was for my sister's birthday and though we were the only ones there at the start, at the time we needed to leave they were getting busy and our waitress was over-burdened. She was wonderful and we thank the staff for everything but the hostess and other staff did not seem to be able to step in and help the waitstaff when things got busy right when we needed coffee and check (we had told them at the start we needed to leave in one hour and they acknowledged it). Still a very nice place and my guests said the bar drinks were good as well- Lovely end of summer meal.
I was disappointed at this visit and I have been here a few times before. The restaurant was very quiet hence, an undo amount of attention. However, the fish was not fresh, half portions of pasta are not available for an appetizer, and a change in pasta type is unnecessarily an additional charge. Flexibility and a waitstaff that will let you alone to enjoy your own company is warranted. Make a few changes and La Carbonara will be up to par again.
We had a wonderful time. The food was great and the ambiance was really nice. The service was a little slow and the tables are small, so it was a bit crowded with our bread, salad, and entree plates on the table at once. We used a Groupon which turned out to be an amazing deal. Overall, I would definitely return.
Found this on another website and thought it would make a fun meal when my son and I were in NYC for a day. It was absolutely excellent. Menu was not overdone but offered plenty of choice, staff was very welcoming, meal was delicious. Would definitely recommend and return.
Nothing good in that reastaurant. Bad quality of food, lentil soup with other strong and undefinable ingredients that changed totally taste (in bad way), octopus probably old and with no flavor, the glass of pitcher with tap water was opaque, sinonymous of dirty, and at the end, I couldnt avoid to leave the tip, because it was already included in the bill! Really fanny: usually tip is something leaved to everyone's decision, but in this case no, they decided for me. In conclusion, not recommended at all.
They are no joke with the unlimited mimosas, my huge glass was full the entire 90 minutes! My friend and I both had brunch pasta dishes and were both happy with our choices. Definitely pop in between 2pm and 4pm and get 90 minutes of nonstop mimosas and a fantastic drag show!
The service in this place was TERRIBLE. When I made the reservations on the website through OpenTable, it did not say that there would be a drag show through out my entire meal. Even though I asked to be seated outside, the noise was ridiculous! Our bill was $90 for two mediocre plates and watered down drinks. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Went on a Saturday for brunch with friends. We did the $25 bottomless brunch option which allowed us unlimited mimosas, champagne, screw drivers & bloody mary's, drinks were quite strong. Four of us had eggs benedict and all of our eggs were very overdone (they were essentially hard boiled) and there was almost no sauce on it. Out other friend had a cheeseburger and said it was overdone as well. The drag show and bottomless drinks made the meal worthwhile, but i would recommend ordering something safe like the french toast or a pasta dish.
