La Cantina’s menu is centred around upscale twists on many classics: tostadas (deep-fried tortillas topped with vegetables, meat, and other goods), hard and soft shell tacos of course. There is guac, quesadillas, churros and more!

La Cantina is also serving a range of innovative cocktails. There are awesome margarita and mezcal cocktails of course.

We are located in downtown Montreal, beside undergrown malls (cour mont-royal et centre eaton), in between Concordia and McGill universities, 2 blocks from the bell center (go habs!)

Really not good from the pastor and shrimp tacos to the margarita. We’d been there before and definitely has gone downhill. Wouldn’t recommend!

Very good drinks especially the margaritas. For the food everything seemed freshly made, all ingredients were bright and fresh unfortunately every plate we ordered were a bit bland. Just a bit more salt, lime, cumin, etc.. is missing to be very good. We really liked the temporary cactus tacos. Service was friendly and efficient. The place is small, cozy and totally casual. A fun place to have a quick dinner before going out to a concert, festival, etc.. We shall return for sure and hopefully have room on the outside terrasse ;-)

An unruly and aggressive male customer is the only reason the ambiance had an issue, but the restaurant staff quickly intervened and sat us elsewhere.

Had supper at Cantina and it was a mixed experience. The food was delicious. However the portions were ridiculously small. We both left hungry and had to go to another restaurant to round off the meal. And the service was very cold and robotic. More warmth ordering off an app. Considering the price we paid, I won’t repeat. But if you go try the duck tacos. They are awesome. And then go out for supper at a proper restaurant!

We went here because of their rating on the Findmeglutenfree app. The atmosphere is very fun and colorful, and the overall design very nice. The waitress was friendly, but didn't check back very often, and left us sitting for long periods of time, while she and the other workers stood across the restaurant talking to each other, which was especially noticeable because we were the only occupied table at the time. The food presentation was great, but the flavors were underwhelming, and pretty bland. We had to ask about the sauces on the table and their spice level, nothing was explained. We felt that the prices were very high for what you got; $20 for a very small margarita, $20 for three small tacos. We were disappointed in general.

We really had an amazing time for my hubby’s birthday. The food and service were really outstanding I’d recommend and go back. If you’re wearing your Habs jersey you get free tequila shots.
