Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, and fresh seasonal produce.

if you are after a casual but quality dining experience you can't go past La Camera, The food is generous and tasty combined with friendly attentive service and great views of the river from the balcony tables.

The food was good. The waitress had a cold and kept wiping her nose with tissue but didn't see her go wash her hands and just kept serving up food. The place needs an update and a good clean. Went again the following week as we need to finish a gift voucher and was placed near the servicing table where there were dirty glasses in my face and waiters constantly coming to get plates. A table should not be in that area. Also the menu pages are stuck together and dirty.Won't be going again.
