La Camelia Restaurant
Traditional Valencia Paella with Meat & Seafood
All Seafood Paella with 1/2 lobster
Potato, Leeks, Parley / Egg Tortilla
Menu has some interesting tapas. Tapas food is OK, atmosphere is nice.
Great setting. Friendly service. However, coffee not the best...not hot enough...strange taste
Another great meal at La Camelia. We changed up and enjoyed strictly tapas this time accompanied by a flavorful rose and smooth Tempranillo. New to us we’re the Prawns Mozambique split in a rich garlicky sauce, as well as shrimp in a cognac sauce (not on the menu, but suggested by our server). Lovely outdoor seating and a welcoming staff; we’re becoming regulars.
The food and service were outstanding. Our server, Betsy, was also outstanding, attentive but not overbearing, and very informative. The ambiance, outdoor dining, was like being in a wonderful treehouse -- without the noise of birds. It was cool and pastorial.
A hidden gem. The food was incredible and service was amazing. Will 100% go back and bring friends!
Excellent Spanish and Portuguese tapas along with one of the best outdoor dining arrangements in all of westchester.
Maybe it was because they had a big party but we waited almost 3 hours to be served and the food was over cooked second time I had a dinner that wasn’t cooked properly if I ever go back it will be for tapas only
The food was fabulous. We had tapas because there were so many we wanted to try. The asparagus with almonds was out of this world, as were the eggplant rolls and the steamed vegetable crepe. The cod fritters were probably the weakest, and even those I'd happily eat again. But first I have to try the shredded duck on paella rice and the tortilla Espanola. It's not a place to go in a rush because the kitchen is small and they're making so many different things at once. The music selection was odd and definitely kept us entertained while we waited to eat.
The restaurant was clearly overbooked which colored our experience. It was excessively noisy. Service was erratic. Food was not prepared properly and no one followed up to see how we were doing.
Great food, relaxing pleasant atmosphere, good service.
Terrible. Waitress was very pushy. Kept insisting on giving our drink and food orders before we even saw menu. We asked for bread, said it was in oven, 20minutes later still no bread. When she brought it out it was cold and semi frozen. Her answer was you wanted the bread so I brought it out. Other tables seemed to get bread in timely manner. Gave her our food orders two orders of Paella and two people ordered 3 tapas to share. . Forty minutes later the paella is served. Only two tapas brought out. Waited 20 minutes for the third, never came. A manager comes over to table and said sardine dish given to wrong table, none left. No offer to provide another dish, or compensate us. Waitress very argumentative. Food was over cooked and dried out. Never going back to this restaurant which used to be quite good, no longer
Gaby was an extremely attentive and personable waitress - it definitely added to the fine food - good value on wine-should have pan con tomate and more olive : tapenade - staple if a tapas bar/ restaurant- will ge back
Delicious and interesting food. You can choose an entree or tapas. We decided to eat at the bar and share a few plates. We shared the cucumber and tomato salad, grilled shrimp on guacamole, spanish tortilla (leeks, potato, egg), serrano & cheese plate, and the picadihno - which is like a meat stew. It was all flavorful and well prepared. I would recommend each dish. The bar got crowded and noisy at one point and service struggled to keep up - but was always friendly and responsive to requests. Probably not the best place for vegetarians, but pescatarians and omnivores will be happy. It's a hidden gem!
We had the best time with the best food and the greatest server!!!!
We can’t wait to come back! The food and service were incredible.
Delicious, shaved cod great tapas. Nice Portuguese wines. A bit hard to find. Would go back.
The host took us outside and left us standing there: no invitation to sit at a particular table. The server was warm and friendly snd her attention was good. The food was sub-par, taste varied. Too many raw onions. Though this was an anniversary dinner, we left without dessert or coffee. Terribly disappointing.
We had several tapas dishes to share. All excellent.
The staff was quite nice especially the manager. It was a very busy night and service suffered. The adults loved the food, the teens found it so-so. We thought it was somewhat expensive. The adults want to come back at a quieter time without the kids.
Had a lovely dining experience last night. The tapas were delicious as always. But the service was outstanding and that is what made the meal so enjoyable! The new server is a welcome addition to this fine restaurant!
Lovely evening great service and outdoor patio
Fabulous meal at this hidden gem. Everything was perfect with the authentic Spanish menu. We haven't dined here in years as we now live in Florida and are so glad we did. One of the best restaurants in the area. New proprietor came by to check on us and we could not praise her enough for continuing the great food experience
Beautiful setting and inspired food! Friendly service and great wines, too!
Excellent meal. We always enjoy dinner here
A very special restaurant with a charming, lovely ambience. The meals were outstanding and beautifully prepared. We very much enjoyed the fantastic Caesar salad,
paella and grilled pork chop dishes. The chocolate mousse was amazing as was the cappuccino! The servers were very attentive and professional. The area around the restaurant is quiet without the intrusive sounds of traffic. An all around beautiful
dining experience. We will definitely return soon!
We had a lovely time celebrating our daughter’s birthday- our server was great. Please let her know how much we appreciated her effort.
The place is very attractive. However the food was a bit disappointing. The paella was very salty and the duck was very dry. We have been there twice and both times there were errors in the bill. The errors were corrected after we pointed them out but given that they were not very busy, I feel they should not have happened.
Have eaten real Spanish food and this meal didn’t come close. Sauces on both appetizers were the same just a repeat although tapas were good and freshly prepared. Paella had no resemblance to any that we have had either In Spain or New York. Service was pleasant but felt abandoned at end of meal and had to go look for final bill. We would not return.
Lovely spot. Excellent food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there.
Service and food were amazing as always!
We've eaten at La Camelia numerous times, and in each case the food was great and the ambiance welcoming. We started with shrimp in garlic sauce (a favorite) and the Fabada which consists of beans, chorizo (home smoked) , onions and more garlic. Probably could have made these a meal after dipping bread into the succulent sauces. But, as we mostly do, ordered the excellent Bacalhau and Chilean Sea Bass main's, combined with tempranillo and chardonnay wine (reasonably priced!). All in all another great dinner by the hosts Victor and Serafina, highly recommended.
I had an awesome time dinning with my brother Michael! The Paella was great and the tapas was wonderful as always. My brother enjoyed the beef on the stone and stated he will be back with his wife in the near future See you guys again soon! Ciao
We were not treated with the level of respect that we are accustomed to from the restaurants we frequent. We were greeted by a waiter informing us that he had canceled our reservation because we were 15 minutes late; while the restaurant had only one table in use (by a party of 4). We had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for service, our food order and service, coffee (decaf). Then after waiting for too long to eat; while filling out our CC bill (we were leaving) the waiter comes over and informs us that he needs our table. The tables inside were all empty and there were 80% of the outdoor tables available. UNACCEPTABLE! We will not be returning to La Camelia Restaurant.
This was our first visit to La Camelia and we were pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of the Spanish and Portuguese food. Unlike other restaurants we visited during this May 2021 Restaurant Week, La Camelia had a wide selection of salads, appetizers, tapas and entrees--which make for a good dining experience. Also the pitcher of sangria was less expensive than bottles of wine or cocktails at other venues. We will be back!
This is an excellent dining venue for lunch with great food and service. The ambiance outside is like a very comfortable treehouse with privacy.
We decided to visit La Camelia for the first time because they were participating in Westchester Restaurant Week. We were pleasantly surprised. The Restaurant Week Menu was the standard 3-course: soup or appetizer, entree and dessert. To our surprise, the Entree list included at least 15 items. The salads were large and satisfying, one fish entree was excellent, the other (salmon) could have used a sauce. Both desserts were excellent.
The service was also excellent, and we would definitely return for another lunch.
Good food, considerate staff, fair pricing and great ambience
Friendly staff. Excellent food.
Food was excellent. Very nice and impressive selection for Restaurant Week. Food was delicious and nice portions. Only drawback was they ran out of 2 of the 3 dessert choices and service was slow, but were attentive. I believe they didn’t check in as often because they were giving people time to sit and relax and didn’t want to give the impression they were rushing you. Great experience overall and we will definitely be back.
There was a problem with our reservation. Not only had the restaurant called and re confirmed with me the day after I booked on Open Table, but I re confirmed on Open Table when I got the re.nder. My guest got there before I did and was told there were no tables for us. After a conversation when I got there, they made accommodations for us. One friend was from Manhattan and loved it, would come back up again. The Lunch special for Restaurant week was like a regular dinner meal. Great selections, very good portions. It was a home run for a lunch meal during restaurant week!
