La Caille Restaurant

We love the LaCaille experience! The food is out-of-this-world delicious, the service is primo, the ambiance is such that one feels comfortably at-home in a very exquisite French chateaux. The soft music (from the big-band era) is a perfect background, the grounds are lovely, and the peacocks wandering lazily add a beautiful touch. We celebrated our anniversary at LaCaille, and it was a wonderful evening. Now, we are eager to attend the Sunday brunch. Thank you to everyone at LaCaille!
It’s a beautiful spot way out away from civilization. When we arrived the front reception seemed a little unprepared. We were seated at a table and the waitress wanted to move us closer to the big windows. That transition was strange at best. It took 30 minutes just to get some water and 45 to get our orders taken. Painfully slow, and I say that because I think the antique, half-broken wicker chairs are the most uncomfortable things we have ever sat on for 3 hours! The food was good but not worth the price! My lamb chops were almost raw and couldn’t be cut with my sharp steak knife. They quick grilled them again and were edible. Because of that and the loooong wait for everything, they offered us some free desserts which were tasty. Our waitress was very good, just very slow food service.
I would highly recommend La Caille. The food is tremendous.
We went here for brunch. The food was great, the service was great. A little pricey, but worth the trip. We are in Utah a several times a year, and this restaurant is now on our list of must visit places when we are in the area.
We had an early reservation, 5 pm, I highly recommend it, felt like we had the place to ourselves. The entire staff were very friendly and timely. Meg was especially pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Everything was perfect, best prepared mussels I’ve ever tasted.
An upscale restaurant that takes itself way to seriously. The staff must put on 40 miles a shift just running around trying to keep up with the demanding facade that the restaurant tries to present. We decided to use our gift certificate to enjoy the Sunday brunch because quite frankly the dinner menu was over priced and so “fancy” there was nothing that looked good. The brunch was very good - but again the staff was always running to and fro and nobody seemed to be helping anybody else out. If you see a guest has finished a course and extended the dishes to the edge of the table - please pick it up even if it isn’t your table. So pretensious! So sooty!
Ordered 2 non-alcoholic drinks - one came. Then, 10 minutes later the other one arrived. Had to ask 3 times for napkins because the table service wasn’ t complete when we sat down. There were very few customers at noon or there might have been a reason for the delay in set up, etc.
The specialty French toast is excellent as was the cheese and bacon omelet. Again, the poor staff have to practically run everywhere to serve the food hot.
We would recommend the brunch. Our waiter, Jason, was excellent, personable, made great suggestions and really saved this experience from being dismal. We hope Jason will consider working at another upscale restaurant - where ever he goes we would follow.
Service was not what I would expect for this restaurant
We had great time. The only complaint is that we did not get all of the take home food we expected. They forgot to include the croissants we did not eat. We specifically asked for them too.
Service was just perfect. We had a great experience.
Great food and expensive. Very nice staff and beautiful location.
Very high-class restaurant. Food was very good, only about 6 items to choose from for both appetizers and entrees.
Everything from beginning to
end was perfect...Servers, Food, Ambiance, Grounds
What a wonderful celebration night! Dinner was perfect, service was perfect, location was perfect.
La Caille is my favorite restaurant in the Salt Lake City area. We got off to a bad start when we ordered drinks and they were slow coming but a complimentary appetizer was brought out and then bread. We were concerned soups and salads would be brought next so we asked the server to slow down the service so we could enjoy our cocktails without being rushed. The one thing about La Caille is the ambience and you don’t want to rush the meal as it is also pricey. They accommodated us and slowed the meal down. Only one person complained about their food being cold. Everyone else enjoyed theirs.
This was the poorest food and especially since it was outrageously priced.
The food didn't taste good and the meat was so tough I could hardly cut the $100 steak
This was not the La Caille that I went to many years ago.
When you pay with tip $600 for four people to eat ( no drinking ) it should be outstanding.
I plan on never going there again and will pass that on to anyone who ask
great servie great food. the lady in the big table next to us was extremely loud though. besides that it was a great experience.
Great food. Bring your own wine though.
Steak was under cooked. We ordered Medium but it was definitely rare. Everything else was fantastic!
Really really bad service. The food was good but nowhere near the price.
La Caille was a beautiful restaurant, perfect for our Valentine's dinner. I've heard so much about the beautiful grounds, so I definitely want to go back when there's nice weather. While we ate dinner though, the snow was falling down and it was just beautiful. Right as we sat down at our window seat, a peacock strolled past on the patio. We had the escargot and lobster bisque to start and the filet and lamb chops for our main entrées. Everything was delicious. The service was top notch, and it was a lovely environment. Can't wait to go back...maybe for brunch next time!
Beautiful romantic setting. Feels like you are in the French countryside!
It was a fun experience, and it is a very fancy romantic setting. The food was not as good as I would have expected for the money.
The experience was great and the waiter was amazing and so consistent
Incredible food, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful servers.
Nice place. Enjoyed the food and the environment.Very professional
Had a fabulous celebration here. Everything from valet to departure was spot on. The food was delicious and fun to try new things. Going to save up for a return visit.
Our experience at La Caille was magical! My husband and I took my parents there for their 37th Anniversary and we had the best time. The food is expensive but the chef sends you out many tiny surprise snacks in between courses and the quality is so incredible that it’s well worth the price! The staff found out it was my parents anniversary and that my father is terminally ill and they were so kind and surprised us with two free desserts. We will never forget that night!
We love La Caille! Mr. Curtis (I think) was our waiter and he's one of the reasons we love this place. He's outstanding! I also appreciate your team delivering roses to my table for me. We miss some of our favorites on the menu like the avocado and grapefruit salad and the craker bread!
Always great service and food quality, would recommend for a special occasion any time of year, especially Christmas time.
Food not worth it.
Good for a special occasion
After many great meals and conversations at La Caille over the years with my special someone I popped the question to her at La Caille. We shared our first magical first kiss in the gardens at La Caille years ago and it was the perfect place to propose to her. The staff, service and food was excellent!
Thank you La Caille!
Our server was fabulous. The food was fabulous. The long narrow driveway approach with its tight entrance off the main road was challenging on a dark, snowy, slippery night but we managed.
Waitress was just ok! Forgot fruit for one guest! Husbands steak just OK! Two guests bacon over cooked and dry! Seemed overpriced based on food and service!
Malin was a great server and provided excellent service
As poor as the service was, it is hard to believe that is was a five-star restaurant. The men’s dishes were served a full five minutes before the women’s, so by the time they were served our food was cold. Silverware was cleared and not replaced. The bartender was acting silly all night and spilled drinks on us.
Excellent food, excellent service, beautiful setting
My husband and I wanted to honor his sweet daughter who passed away a year ago from an accidental drug overdose. Instead of staying home, we decided to celebrate her life by having dinner at the La Caille Restaurant. Not only was the food of high quality, but the staff was there to assist us in any way possible. They were so kind and sensitive to our situation. Thank you for a tender yet wonderful experience.
It was a special occasion for our friends in from Texas. One of them asked if he could get the seafood soup without mussels and was told yes. When he received the dish, it had more mussels in the bowl than the other items. The service was excellent. You just need to be more cognant about your meals and what is a change in a dish going forward if requested by the customer. He ended up not eating much of the dish
Worst service ever.
Cocktails and forst course arrived timely. Then, after fifteen minutes, we were presented with the desert menu. We were a bit surprised, but figured they needed time to prepare. After declining, we were presented with the check. Shocked, I informed the waitress we had not received our main course. After giving us a blank look, she said she had make a mistake and it would be right along. We asked about the status 30 minutes later and she said it was coming. After another 15 minutes, she said the chef had to make the risotto (which we know takes 20 minutes). It was clear that the order had not been put in and we were being misled. After 2 hours in the restaurant, we left. No dinner, no pay. God bless the manager, he ran to the car with a gift certificate. Never again!
Amazing simply amazing, I throughly enjoyed my experience! Food was great, very classy and high end. The staff were extremely professional. A bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny. They have a gorgeous view of the grounds and encourage you to explore the grounds. This place is almost magical, like something from a fairytale. Definitely worth experiencing.
