La Brasa Ratings and Reviews
My Feyoncé and I attended the NYE event with some friends of ours, and it was an incredible evening! The food was delicious, but what really stood out to us was the average service. Everyone who waited on us was stretched and inpersonable and took forever. Fortunately we made reservations for 815. The unfortunate part is we did not get a meeting until 11:00. The lotus flower was her favorite drink. Unfortunately by 9:30 they were sold out. We all loved the drink! We all had a great evening and we would have definitely spent a lot more $$$$ if the wait staff would have been on point and the drinks had of been flowing. Thank you for a delicious and fun evening!
A large area of the restaurant was reserved for a private party. We got seated just in from the front door. It was a cold and windy night. We asked to be moved but were not. After getting blasts of cold air each time the door opened, I got up to inspect the doors. The outer was propped open. The staff agreed to allow that door to function as designed. Then a manager later came by to tell us the heat had been turned up. So 45 minutes into our stay we finally stared to warm up. Lesson, note the weather when setting doors & seating customers.
We've been to La Brasa probably 4 or 5 times in the past year and we have never been disappointed. Everything on the plate has some little twist that makes it memorable. There is nothing bland or forgettable. The appetizer menu is fantastic for tapas-style eating.
Always love La Brasa! Those plantains! It’s always hard to decide on what to eat, so many great things. If first time, get the half chicken with the corn and plantains as sides. If you don’t like brussel sprouts, try their candies ones. You’ll love them. Every thing is better candied with bacon.
Amazing! We've heard great things about La Brasa so decided to try it out with family visiting from out of town. It loved up to its hype and then some. Everyone loved their food (apps, drinks and mains) and we had wonderful service. We were there for brunch and will be back again for dinner etc. Cant say enough good things
Each bit of each dish was infused with such powerful punches of flavor that we were totally smitten with the place -- to the extent that we even talked about the fact that we would go back the next night! These are dishes and flavors you will find nowhere else in Oklahoma City. The decor was fun and eclectic, with visual points of interest scattered all about. The food was beautifully presented. Truly a first class experience.
The food is always great. I have yet to order anything I don’t like. The service does leave a bit to be desired. Our water only got refilled when I got finally get ahold of someone to ask. Normally it isn’t an issue but my friend got a spicy sauce and was sitting with an empty glass for most of the meal. The wait staff looked like they were in a bit of panic. There was a lot of running around aggressively. The manager came to our table to apologize for the delay in the food delivery which we didn’t really even notice. Conclusion: It’s a great place with great food.
We are major foodies and are always evaluating our top 5 restaurants. I can safely say that after dining here twice, La Brasa has made it to number two on our list! (Number one being Brazen in Denver Colorado). La Brasa has amazing Ceviche, and the Brussels Sprouts are amazing as well! We would highly recommend giving it a shot if you haven't already. The drinks are very reasonably priced as well.
One recommendation would be to get multiple types of bitters for cocktails.
Everything was great except someone kept forgetting our cocktails. We ordered drinks shortly after we were seated. Then the server came back and we ordered an appetizer. The app comes out and still no cocktails. Meanwhile a table next to us had come in, been seated ordered and had gotten their drinks already. We were wanting a fun start to a night out so having been there for 25 minutes and almost finished the appetizer we tried for a while to flag a server. When we got her we asked about the drinks and ordered dinner..... the drinks cake out with the meal. Everyone was friendly and the food was good but I wouldn't suggest as a place to start a Friday night out.
