La Boucherie Ratings and Reviews
Service was excellent. The Maitre D, waiter, and bussers were all great. We ordered two dry aged NY Strips, both medium rare, and while one of them was cooked perfectly, the other came out extremely rare. I think some refer to this type of doneness as "Blue". It was literally raw flesh, coated in the seared outer layer. They offered to heat it up, but it did not fix the issue. The seared outer layer was hardened even more, almost to the point of a cracker-like texture, and the inner meat was still raw and chewy. Although the vibe of the restaurant is excellent, this experience just made us want to leave as soon as possible. Factoring in the fact that this meal cost us $115+ per person, I would say that it wasn't a memorable experience at all.
My wife and I had a great experience at La Boucherie. The views are amazing and there isn't a bad seat in the restaurant. Service was great. Servers knew their menu and made excellent recommendations. Before our starters came out we were brought a complimentary halibut tartar which was a nice spoonful. My wife started with the French Onion soup and I had the sunchoke veloute with lobster. After that we shared the 36 oz tomahawk ribeye which was juicy and so tender. Before our steak came out our server brought out a knife selection for us to choose from. Then we were given 8 different sauce options and 15 different mustards to compliment our steak. The meal was exceptional. We are looking forward to coming back again soon.
We came from Denver to visit my sister who spent weeks raving about this place. We ordered our meat rare, while my sister and her boyfriend ordered theirs medium. Both pieces of meat came out the exact same color, so we sent it back. What felt like 10-15 minutes later, another dish was presented, even more over cooked than before. Upon the third attempt, the waiter showed a manager the meat, it was approved, and it was served. I wish I could say they nailed it on the third try, but it wasn’t even close. Further, were charged for the over cooked steak, which I could have cooked better myself with a lighter.
For such a pretentious place with outrageous prices, this was both shocking and disappointing.
Food was ok. Duck fat fries were undercooked and raw in the middle. Steaks were well-cooked but not worth the price. They offered your choice of salts, steak knives, and mustards which was nice but felt a little gimmicky. They should should one to offer rather than three, in order to keep it feeling special.
Bartender was fantastic and thoughtful. Highlight of the evening.
One word: Outstanding. From the moment we arrived to the very end, every detail was covered. Our waiter Joaquin was full of energy. He read us well and knew how often to check on us. Our guests were overwhelmed with all the attention and care. The food was very good. I'd probably stay away from the butter sauce on the fish. I felt it took away the flavor of the fish. My husband loved his filet though. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were great. Didn't care for the fries. Joaquin took good care of us in celebrating a birthday at the table,. Couldn't thank him enough! So, let me tell you about the venue! The view is breathtaking! The dining room is not huge so you are not lost in a sea of tables. But hidden away are private booths, a private room with a round table that seats 13-16, a private table made of gorgeous wood that is perfect for a party, and a small room names Marie Antoinette perfect for meetings or a cozy dinner with friends. Totally worth a tour to plan your next special occasion. To top it all off, we went to Spire 73 for an open aired view of the city from what felt like the top of the world. After dinner drinks are a must!
Delicious food. Started the service with an excellent waiter who went missing midway through dinner service. We ended up with an awkward server who kept bothering us - she repeatedly interrupted us at inappropriate times - too frequently and for no good reason.
This restaurant was fabulous. From the food to the service this was first class. The views there are outstanding everywhere you look you see beautiful Los Angeles lit up! We had lobster Thermidor and the Tomahawk steak and both were delicious. Our waiter was excellent and very attentive! It’s a little pricey but definitely worth going to!
My husband ordered steak and said it is the best steak he ever tasted. I ordered the sea bass and it is well cooked and fresh. The waiter recommended some very nice sauce to go with the main course. And the view is just superb. We were very well served. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We reserved a table for 3 for Saturday's night celebration. We arrived one hour earlier in the hope to get a nice table with the view (window seats) but they have only 2 window tables for a party of 3 or 4. The hostess couldn't accommodate us, so we had to wait in the bar for our 9pm reservation. The food menu lights up and drink menu is in the iPad (many bottles to pick from).
I would really recommend their Filet Mignon Tartare!
Steaks were not cooked properly - we ordered medium well but there was blood inside. Even after recooking the steak, inside was still too raw for our taste...
The service was great except our champagne glasses were often empty so we had to look for the waiter in order to fill them in. Bottle service could had been more attentive...
Only after most people left, we received the service we wanted.
Overall, I will come back but only to order another Filet Mignon Tartare and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 42 day Aged rib eye steak was mediocrely tasting unevenly cooked with parts dryer and more on the medium well side. I did not taste the aged flavor up until I got to the center of my steak but still could not justify the price when Outback Steakhouse’s Rib Eye may actually challenge their meat.
The condiments were impressive with various custom sauces and garnishing to choose from. But it was too overwhelming to choose a sauce or two and in the end only takes away from the meat’s flavors. It was hard to find cohesiveness in the variety of sauces and condiments offered.
Perhaps the steak would have tasted better if they had offered me the salts before I got to the the last 1/4 of my steak.
The desserts were ok. I recommend the Alaska on Fore . The mouse au chocolat was too rich wand sweet . It felt it needed something to break the sweetness.
The restaurant validates for 2 hours but you’ll prolly stay there longer. Its 12 dollar per house over. I think 2 hours validation is not enough at least validate for 3 hours.
The view is spectacular nit overall this was a very expensive meal. It was not worth the price of admission.
VIP booth is perfect for that special date. Best romantic dinner in the greater Los Angeles area, bar none.
Showed up and enjoyed a drink on the roof top bar, stunning view, then went to the restaurant, and asked if a VIP booth were available.
It was and it was simply fantastic. So happy I asked for the upgrade.
Private dinning for the two of us, panoramic view, awesome service, wine, food, just a memorable night.
If you have a special date, and budget, highly recommend the VIP booth experience at this restaurant.
Food great, service great, atmosphere great. One bad thing is, although the restaurant was less than 1/2 full, they didn't let me change my reservation... Maybe this was due to the guest/staff ratio, or to keep the restaurant feel cozy/quiet, but still, I hope they can be more flexible with reservations.
super high end steakhouse experience with all the right touches --- delicious bread, several steak-knife options, custom mustards and sauces. service is on point, steak quality was incredible and cooked perfectly. everything was spot on, just very expensive.
