Great meal in a beautiful venue. Jules, one of our waiters was incredible. Professional, great service with a sincere smile! She made all the difference.
La Boheme has a lot of potential. It is a very nice dining room with a fine menu. We dined for a special occasion on a Saturday night. There were elements of greatness in the food, but the restaurant was significantly understaffed, which led to slow, inattentive service, with long waits between apologetic drive-bys of the waiter and entrees plated long before they were served. Onion soup was top notch, meats were properly done and tasty - though served lukewarm. The cold pommes frites, when replaced with freshly made ones were excellent.
Personally, if I were chef of a restaurant trying to build a reputation in Hollywood, I would've comp-ed the meal, but from the look of things, they would have been to comp-ing everyone. We had some screamers at the next table, so it wasn't easy to converse during the hour and a half wait for the entrees. Overall a pretty hit and miss meal for a couple hundred bucks, but we really want to like La Boheme. Hopefully they were just having a rough night, we'll give them another chance sometime.
Got married here 6 years ago and it was amazing. We had many great meals before then, and we return each year on our anniversary (and sometimes on Valentine's Day). The restaurant recently changed its "concept" but it's still superb. Now it's a French brasserie with an "old Hollywood" feel. The romantic decor remains, but the menu skews more brasserie French, and there are wonderful photos on the wall of Iconic LA scenes.
I had gratin of French onion soup and it was perfect. I chose the Saturday night special, Boeuf Bourguignon, and it was scrumptious. Made with bacon instead of lardons. My husband had the steak frites and that was also perfect. He loved his classic caesar salad too. For dessert, they brought us a delicious wedge of cheesecake, on the house, for our anniversary!
Their cocktails are wonderful and they have an excellent wine list. Great place for a date, a gathering, or even just a group of friends. Impeccable service.
A true West Hollywood Gem!! Love this restaurant!!
Great experience. Waters were really friendly and welcoming
Amazing food and experience! Service was off the charts and the place is beautiful!
I have visited this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed good food in a beautiful environment however the Thanksgiving Dinner was very disappointing. The service was appalling and the restaurant was not completely full. The table we were assigned was adjacent to an outside door to the terrace which was constantly opening and closing on a very cold and rainy night. It was also close to the hallway and kitchen area. We were told "how lucky we were to be given the best table in the house"! This could not be further from the truth and in fact was the worst table in the house. So it was completely disingenuous for us to be told that and extremely patronizing. We had to constantly ask for water. The drinks were slow to come and in fact my last drink never arrived and so I cancelled it. The Thanksgiving Menu offered no flexibility whatsoever and when I requested roast potatoes as a substitution for mashed I was told that was not possible which suggests that the food is already cooked and plated up. Therefore I had to order a separate side order of roast potatoes and was asked if I wanted them with my entree! We had to ask for salt and pepper and then ask again for fresh ground pepper. The atmosphere was awfully noisy and chaotic with constant bumping into the back of my chair by wait staff. The background music was appalling and not in keeping with the beautiful decor of the restaurant. A classy restaurant should extend class to its service and also have enough staff to cope with the busy holiday period.
The food was great, we felt very welcomed, the atmosphere was nice and our waiter, Peter, was fabulous!!!!
This was the best experience I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. The service, the food, the atmosphere-- all outstanding. The only shock we had was at the price in the end, which should have been double what it was. I hope they raise their prices. I'd like them to stay in business for a very long time! DON'T skip the cream of mushroom soup if they have it and definitely order the bread and butter.
The roast chicken in dijon sauce is excellent. The menu very diverse French/New Orleans with something to please everyone. The space is warm and inviting while still having grand soaring ceilings and an interior balcony. The outdoor patio is charming and intimate, both spaces have fireplaces! The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive.
While it seems like it is a "special occasion" location, and it certainly is, the prices are reasonable and it is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. They even have takeout!
This is the most beautiful restaurant in LA. Gorgeous interior with lush red seats and booths upstairs and downstairs as well as an outdoor patio. Big open fire on main level and kitchen is open and in view. Food is delicious here. There’s also sone high top tables at entrance where the bar us and a couple of high tops outside of entrance on santa monica blvd. There is valet parking. Located in a very trendy busy area of West Hollywood.
We were there for a special event, for which it proved to be an outstanding venue. The restaurant and staff did a wonderful job. We also ended up staying for dinner afterwards and the food and service were second to none. Our dinners were excellent and our server did a great job.
Went here for the first time for a private event and then stayed for dinner after. I love the atmosphere! The food and service were top of the line. Looking forward to returning.
A friend took me to La Bohème for my birthday celebration. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, and the Staff’s rendition of “Happy Birthday” was beyond belief fun. Definitely one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had! Thanks, La Boheme! 🙏🏼
Brought my Mom to celebrate her Birthday and she was blown away with not only the delicious food, but also the ambiance. She was impressed by the gorgeous decor. Our server Erin was very helpful and friendly.
The service was excellent for a party of Six. Got a great round table at the center of the restaurant. Was surprised at how empty it was on a Friday night. The food was extraordinary. Our party had the lamb chops, filet mignon, soup of the day, chèvre salad, steak frites. All of them really delicious in moderate sized portions. Croissant pain Perdu dessert was out of this world.
This was a great experience. The steak was amazing.
Another magical evening at the enchanting LA Boheme.
Had dinner on the patio Friday night and it was a perfect setting. The ambiance, food and service were outstanding. Not only was the service good, but the managers actually worked the room to make sure that the guests were happy. It was an enjoyable evening.
We sat outside. The ambiance was beautiful along with the weather. Perfect. My partner got the flank steak cooked to perfection and I got the burger. Probably one of my best burger experiences. Cooked perfectly, flavorful and outrageously big. Each entree came with yummy fries. We're not so fond of the standard wine pour. The Martini was excellent wine delicious. I forget the servers name. Wish I could remember she was lovely, and attentive but not overkill. It was a nice date night.
Have dined here for many years thru all owners etc!!!! Was pleased it was still here. Food and service as impeccable as my first visit.
The restaurant is beautiful and elegant with soft music. The food and service were excellent.
Amazing!! Food was perfect and the service was excellent!
We had a party of 16! Beautiful Restaurant! The Garden and staff are very professional and friendly
Will definitely come back!
After many years they have really improved their menu selections and the level of service is. 10! New Chef and a new menu - and all the dishes we sampled were a huge step up compared to previous months and years. The restaurant has survived for many years and I am glad to see a serious investment in excellent cuisine and service
I love this resturaunt. One of my favorites. But I understand the resturaunt is under new ownership and the menu has changed. I like the old menu better than the new one. But the energy and ambiance have definitely stepped it up a notch.
Beautiful restaurant, the ambiance is everything. The food was amazing, we had seafood and everything was so fresh. The waitresses and waiters are exceptional, top notch customer service! We definitely will come back.
Lovely meal. Wonderful service. And exquisite surroundings make this a wonderful restaurant to visit! I’ve gone to La Boheme for many years and always love returning!
We were celebrating friends bday. Food didn’t taste good at all. Onion soup was tasteless. Crab cakes had a funky smell, ect. Drinks were good. Probably not going to come back.
Went with my family of 5 on Saturday 9/28 to celebrate my daughter and cousin's birthdays. Our meal was superb. Great ambience, and we shared the seafood platter, the chicken liver pate as appetizers. Main course we had the duck and the sole meuniere, both absolutely delectable. We had espresso martinis, wine, and beer. All drinks were great. We were served for dessert a wonderful cheese cake and ice cream over cooked apples, absolutely delicious and came out with candle for the birthday celebrations. The entire staff were terrific. We had a great time and highly recommend La Boheme for your next dining experience.
First time dining here & was really looking forward to it.
Had requested outside patio by fireplace.
Unfortunately, due to tables that would not turn, they could not accommodate.
Inside is a totally different ambience (I'm not a fan) so was disappointed. Mgr. apologized, so that was nice.
Food & service were both really good. Expensive, so not a place I'd frequent often.
Service was great from the bar to Maitre D...to our server, Erin! Food was delish! The ambience was excellent! Beautiful venue for special occasions! Highly recommend La Boheme.
Glad to have another French place, this one with a Japanese (good!) twist to it. Décor is beautiful. Menu is great, and not complicated. Service extremely nice. Wine list could take a few more French Bordeaux wines by the bottle but the one existing was very good, with an excellent ratio price/quality (ans also by the glass). We shall return.
Prvious manager has come back to take over and revamp this gorgeous restaurant. Everything is elevated! The waitress, dressed in a new updated attire was so professional, polite and attentive. Food was amazing, delicious and served prompt. Drinks menu was delightful and they had gluten free options on menu. I’ve always lived this restaurant so I’m so happy that the old manager has come back to get this Hollywood classic back on track. If you have’t been here you are missing out!
Ambience very nice. Service is very good
Great experience. Went there for my sisters birthday. They just reopened but everything was really good with very attentive service. I had the steak frites which was perfectly cooked and delicious.
We arrived at approximately 9:45PM on a Saturday night for an LA OPERA / La Boheme post-event dinner, and we were seated promptly on the patio. The regular dinner crowd had already thinned out by this time, which left the patio nice and quiet with only one or two other tables semi-active. Unfortunately, however, soon after we were seated, we were advised that the kitchen was closing early this particular evening. Accordingly, therefore, our dining experience was rather rushed and our menu orders incomplete and/or cancelled. Nevertheless, Liza Ellero, Special Events / Guest Relations, was very nice and apologetic for the rushed kitchen closing, and she made a best effort to mitigate the damages. THANK YOU... LIZA!!!
Incredible ambiance, beautiful setting indoors and patio, amazing food and service. A gem.
Birthday dinner. The restaurant was empty which may not have been good for business, but we enjoyed it. Our server was talkative and personable and knew a great deal about the menu. She told us that the menu is changing soon, but I hope you keep the pomodoro because as a vegetarian, I appreciate having this option. Overall we had a great experience and I would like to return.
New chef from Chaya Brasserie. Deep, rich Umami filled cuisine without being heavy and filling. French, Italian influenced "New American" with Japanese sensibilities. Liza suggested great wine pairings, and Q came by to see all was well with an air of Bon Accueil. Tastefully theatrical, dramatic setting. Civilized dining in a regally serene environment. Bravo!
