Wonderful service! Delicious tapas! Loved the brandies cherry dessert.
Wow! Terrible service. Probably the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The paella was very good but the server was terrible. She started rambling about how she just had a birthday six months ago (??!) then neglected to ask us for another round of wine until right before the check came. She tried to clear our plates before we were finished. Just overall bad service.
Our server was the best. The food was very good.
We'll go back.
Great fun at the bar. An impromptu wine tour of Spain with terrific food pairings.
It was absolutely delicious !!
Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious.
We arrived for our 8:15 reservation to the main dining room which was fun and festive and we were very excited for our meal. Then they sent us around the corner to the other dining room (Taberna) which was quiet, the lighting was bright, most of the tables were empty, and it looked like they were cleaning up. They sat us a a high top right in the middle of the walkway from the kitchen to the dining area, and we felt like we were in the way of the waitstaff the whole time. Some of the food was pretty good (boquerones, gambas al ajillo, flat iron steak) other dishes were not so great (carrot hummus). If we had eaten in the other room I think we would have had a much better experience.
Great all around .
Nice variety .
Very good service
Ate on the street side patio. Plenty of heaters and great service made for an excellent night. Not to mention the wonderful food.
Some of of the food was excellent, but some was just OK. I expected better from a highly rated restaurant. Also, they have not removed tables to allow 6 feet spacing for COVID and did not enforce mask wearing on customers when they entered the restaurant.
We had a delicious meal of tapas at La Boca—4 small plates for the 2 of us was plenty! We’ve been before and will definitely be back.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Everyone is kind and helpful. This visit was made especially nice by the reservationist, Zoe, the kind hostess who greeted us, and our skilled server ( I don't know his name). many thanks to all. Oh...and the food was spectacular as always.
The food was outstanding! We had several small plates, and each one was amazing. We especially loved the bruschetta, the ribs, and the eggplant. Great wine list. I can see why this chef has won so many awards!
We had the pork belly, artichokes, and the flatiron. The sauces made the dishes — harissa with the pork, lemon and goat cheese with the artichokes, and a sea salt caramel and a blue cheese with the steak. Our waiter was terrific and made great drink suggestions. He also recommended the Gateau Basque for dessert, and it may be the best dessert I’ve ever had. It was just a perfect dinner all around!
We love this place, and enjoy each time we visit Santa Fe!
The food was outstanding! The ambiance was pleasant and non-pretentious. Our server was delightful and attentive. It was a fantastic experience!
The paella, kale salad, ham croquettes, patatas bravas and grilled artichoke were delicious and were fortunate to have an excellent server.
Slow service. Just dumped cheese plate on the table without any explanation. Did not clear dishes. No longer have pulpo. Wine pour seemed short.
I have loved La Boca over the years. Sadly our experience this time didn’t not measure up. The food wasn’t timed/paced well. The duck breast was not rendered properly (even though it took forever to appear on our table-long after the veggie tapas had been eaten ). The medium-rare requested steak had zero pink inside. Sauces/flavor were scant. The eggplant and artichoke tapas were good, though. All in all, not what I expected based on previous occasions. I overpaid for what I got- especially the $18 ‘glass’ of sherry that was only an inch in the bottom of my smallish glass.
I think La Boca has a loyal following. The charcuterie had generous portions and the grilled artichokes were very flavorful. The ambience was a little cold but our server was very attentive.
Fantastic in every way. Jesus, Emma, and Julie are gems.
The food and service were excellent. And thank you for being aware that noise level is a factor when dining out, per the questions at the beginning of this review process - noise matters to my husband and me a great deal, and we greatly appreciated being able to have a quiet conversation together as the room was not at all loud. Good tapas places are not that easy to find, and this one is quite good. I had shrimp and the fingerling potatoes, while my husband had both of the specials for the night - a mushroom soup and blackened cod, all of which was excellent. Our waiter was quite attentive, and we didn't have to wait for his attention from the moment we sat down to when we walked out the door. We hope to return on our next visit and try the paella.
The lighting could be more cozy. Service was great food good. Nice wine list.
Always great food and good service. We are never disappointed.
Fantastic experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Food was great but service was super slow. It felt like the waitress might have been a little stressed or just had her mind on something else, which happens. There was a weird 20-30 minute gap between most of our food and our last item, which was a little frustrating since we had been there almost 2 hours at that point. But, the food was delicious!
La Boca is our gold standard in Santa Fe. We hadn't been there post-Covid yet so we were excited to be back. We both tried the paella this time; mine was the vegetarian option. Topped off by the Pots de Creme dessert. It was fantastic! Highly recommended.
Food came out warm, not hot.
First off, those not "in the know" should be aware there are two La Boca restaurants. They are within walking distance of each other and I believe are owned by the same person/s. One is casual and one is more upscale. The upscale version has better service and better food. I thought I was making a reservation for the upscale restaurant, but when we arrived, the host directed us to the casual restaurant. The casual one I will avoid in future. My drink arrived 10 minutes before my companion's which was strange. We ordered paella for two right away and after 30 minutes, the waiter told us our order was placed, but then cancelled. He asked if we wanted anything else. Um, yes, we would like an order of the paella. Please put that order into the kitchen. So, another 30 minutes pass and we finally received the paella. Apparently, the neighboring table waited 45 minutes for their paella to finally arrive. It seems the chef does not like cooking this. It tasted good, but the wait was a bit much. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
We really enjoyed ourselves. Our server was top notch!
Back to Santa Fe for our anniversary, reservations were very tight on a Friday night! Only outside tables available for us, but La Boca has a heater for everyone, so you won’t be cold if that’s where you are seated. Our server Mario was attentive and knowledgeable, the portions are huge, and the wine list is well curated - and all Spanish. The house-made olives, the carrot hummus, everything very, very delicious!
Food and service were excellent, the wine selection and offerings were great
Fantastic tapas options with very knowledgeable waiter who recommended the order that dishes should be served. We loved that they didn’t try to push multiple dishes on us at one time like many tapas restaurants.
We sat in the back at the high table. I wouldn’t recommend that. Too much traffic there. The food was interesting with nice presentation. Service was okay.
Another wonderful meal of flavorful tapas at La Boca (actually, in the rear restaurant called La Taberna). The services, as always, was excellent.
Excellent variety in small plates. The spicy shrimp and Moroccan carrot hummus were excellent. Service was perfect.
Great time, great service, great food. Highly recommend!
The food was excellent! The bruschetta in particular is a must. As a celiac, I sincerely appreciated that all of the offerings were either gluten free or could be made so. Have patience with the wait staff as they are clearly understaffed and are doing their best under trying conditions. Our waiter was great but spent many precious minutes trying to get several of the non-functional patio heaters working.
Great experience. Eggplant & Brucheta was amazing
