We dined at LA Bistro with our 9 year old. Other children were present in the restaurant. LA has a very European vibe, the servers are very professional, the menu is extensive and the food is very delicious with a lovely presentation.
Just a simple pasta dish and they failed.
Baked ziti, was pasta with flavorless sauce and a little cheese. The problem they didn’t bake it. Just call is pasta and sauce.
Not worth the high price for instant style food.
The food was wonderful. The sever was very attentive but took a while to pick up the check. I will definitely go back
This is a wonderful restaurant! Delicious food and attentive service. Perfect for a date night or family dinner. Will be back!
Been eating here for several years and continue to.
Always a pleasure. The steak on the rock is unbelievably good. My wife’s Chilean sea bass was perfect. Her birthday, they treated her like a queen. A true neighborhood gem.
We had a party of seven who were there to reminisce and fine dine. We've had good experiences there in the past and were not disappointed this time. I suspect we provided much of the noise, or the restaurant would have scored even better in that category! Food: Osso Buco in not on the menu, but is often available on weekends. It was excellent! Other meals (seafood, pasta, veal etc.) were well received. Top meals are a bit pricey at $39, but really good Italian pasta was available costing much less. Appetizers and dessert (chocolate souffle) were good and enjoyed by all. We did not try the very expensive beef steak this time. In past visits, we greatly enjoyed cooking our raw beef on the personal red-hot stones. Wine selection and pricing was good. Service was a little overwhelmed on a busy Friday night, but managers covered the shortfalls. In summary, we got exactly what we wanted - reliable kitchen with a varied menu at a variety of prices.
It was nice.
The 10 of us have been having Friday night dinner together for over 25 years.
Birthday - delicious everything! Love the Limoncello cake!!!! Eggplant Parmesan is the best I’ve ever had!
We had a reservation at 7pm and weren’t seated until almost 8pm. We waited about 20 min at our table to even be acknowledged. They didn’t give us menus, water, silverware nothing for 20 min. We had to send our glasses back THREE different times because all the ones they were bringing out were filthy!!! We got fed up and just asked for “to-go” cups. Even in the To-go cups there was hair in my daughters sprite! If it wasn’t for the the fact that it was now almost 9pm on Mother’s Day and the likelihood of us finding another reservation for 8 people were slim to none, we stayed. The food was ok and the staff seemed to be helpful at times but the service and attention wasn’t there. I was extremely disappointed in the customer service we received. When the food finally came out everything leading up to it didn’t make us easy about even eating the food. But from the very little we ate it was ok. But the likelihood of us returning is slim to none. I understand it was Mother’s Day but the service and the care wasn’t there.
A Mother’s Day celebration for the Italian lover in the bunch. We arrived at our reserved time and because it was packed had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. I think it could be helpful if greed to overbook didn’t override the level of service. Standing around with gifts for the occasion was a bit annoying. Once seated our waiter was excellent. He was friendly, entertaining, and a joy to be in company of. Most of the food was great. The only feedback is the state not being char’d until burned. Overall, I’ll be back!
Food was great. Prices were on the high side but quality was there. Their “famous” crab bisque, was good but not great. Excellent wine selection. Great cuts of meat. Veal was tender and tasty. Filet was as well. Service was great even though it was very busy. Would go again next time I’m in the metroplex.
Very Poor customer service!!
Chicken Cordon Bleu was delicious and very tasty - the brown sauce with mushrooms was superb.
Lobster ravioli was good but not enough pieces for the price - should have had at least 2 more pieces.
Chicken parmigiana tasty and good portion size.
Table service was excellent - garlic bread was never ending and so good!
The food was good but the service was super slow and there were hardly any tables filled. We stood at the host stand for a long time before anyone invited us in, again, even though it was not crowded. Overall, thought it would become a go-to Italian place for us, but sadly, the service convinced us otherwise.
Cannot say enough positive things. Everything was great
This is hands down our favorite Italian restaurant for several good reasons.
The atmosphere is old school New York City/ Las Vegas club style. Pictures of the rat pack on the walls, nice lighting... you'd never know you were in a strip center!
Waiters all treat us with love and respect, not pushy and always available... perfect service.
The menu is expansive and varied, with a few extra treats sometimes as specials not on the printed menu, most importantly to us, OSO BUCO! It's the best I've had anywhere.
Parking is plentiful, wine list very nice and the food is excellent old Italian family style food. I know; my wife's whole family is first generation American from the Italian province of Tichino in Switzerland, so we know Italian food. Try the gnocci bolognaise... it's to die for!
I would guarantee you a good meal, a fair price and a great dining experience here.
We wanted a great Italian dinner and had heard about the lobster bisque being some of the best in the Metroplex. We were thrilled with both the dinner and of course the bisque. For an old fashion Italian dinner with something extra special, the lobster bisque...this is the only choice.
Restaurant wasn't bad. Food was OK. I honestly don't think this restaurant is for people of color. I'm African American and had never felt so uncomfortable. The patrons were pointing and whispering. I just didn't feel as if I was supposed to be there and I have eaten at a multitude of resturaunts all over the world.
Gets full fast on weekends so make sure you have reservation. Service was fast, but spotty. Live pianist started playing so that was a nice touch. Would dine here again.
We sat by a table of 8 having a very loud party. Lots of open tables but we were seated by the loud table. Waiters were not friendly. They acted like they had been there so many years they no longer cared.
We love this place. The food is always excellent and reasonably priced. Piano music in the background, very relaxing atmosphere. Decent wine selections as well.
We have been going to this restaurant for 20+ years. Always like the atmosphere-quiet, romantic and classy. Any special occasion this is our go to place even though it's an hour away. Food is always excellent and waiters are above average. Always feel like we get our money's worth.
We love everything about La Bistro. The food is amazing, the staff is wonderful and it's one of our favorite places to eat. I tried the penne w/vodka sauce and shrimp this time and it was delicious. The lasagna is an all time favorite for the whole family with date cake for dessert.
Awesome family restaurant
The food, the ambiance and the piano player made this a very romantic evening.
Good is always great. We have been going here for 6 years and have never had a bad meal or bad service. They really make the experience great. Awesome food.
Outstanding food but the server had a horrible attitude. This seems to be par for the course here because we constantly get bad service with different servers. Again my wife and I love the food but we won’t be back after this visit.
Waiter was a bit rough around the edges. Seemed to be impatient with us being first timers
Great food and never had bad service
Recommend the lamb, and lasagna, and Chianti wine.
We don't eat out often but visited for my wife's birthday on a Monday evening. The restaurant was mostly empty with maybe 5 tables occupied. Antonio took great care of us. My wife wanted the Ossobuco, but they only make it on Friday and Saturday. However they found that they still had one serving left. I had the lamb chops. We also had a bottle of wine and the plum cake. All of the food was excellent. One of the best restaurants in the mid cities area. They kept tables appropriately separated and followed Covid guidelines.
We first chose La Bistro for two reasons: my daughter wanted Italian food for her birthday dinner and 2) the location was the perfect midpoint for us to meet. It also received good reviews. Well, we all loved this restaurant. The wait staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable; the food was DELICIOUS! Each of us loved our entrees, and we definitely would return! Highly recommend.
Delicious meal, very attentive staff, great service!
Service is excellent, food is good. They have a specialty where food is cooked at the table on hot rocks. When this takes place, the restaurant is filled with grease-laden smoke. This experience took place a few tables away from us and destroyed an otherwise nice experience.
The staff is as friendly as they get. Great place for a nice dinner date
Excellent choice. The only drawback is the price of wine can drive your bill up. But the food and especially the service is well worth it.
Thanks for making my daughter feel special on her Birthday!
