La Bistro Italian Restaurant
La Bistro Italian Restaurant, in Hurst, serves fine Italian cuisine with passion and knowhow in its elegant and inviting eatery. For a delicious start to your meal, enjoy the mushroom caps stuffed with escargot and the cheese topped garlic bread. Homemade pastas, such as the meaty baked lasagna, the fettuccine primavera with spring veggies in a creamy sauce and the linguini matriciana with bacon and onions, are some of diners’ favorite meals. La Bistro Italian Restaurant’s house specialties include the chicken La Bistro with mushrooms and shallots in a brandy dill sauce, the veal Jerusalem sautéed with artichoke hearts and garlic and the filet mignon madeira in a luscious wine and mushroom sauce. The homemade cannoli, filled with sweet ricotta cheese and topped with chocolate sauce, makes the ideal dessert.
Be sure to visit La Bistro Italian Restaurant on the weekends to hear the resident piano player.
Food is amazing, the staff is very friendly. I love this place.
Great menu with so many options. Chicken Parm was very good. Very reasonably price. Nice local place with attention to detail. Piano player was a nice touch (but a bit loud). Haven’t been o a few years and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I have been enjoying La Bistro for years. Their food is quite good and their veal dishes are as good as anyplace I have been in my 29 years living in the DFW are. I can especially recommend their veal saltimbuco, Sinatra, or Marsala. Go there and enjoy!
My husband and I like La Bistro but unfortunately it is extremely noisy! So much so that the waitress could not hear us and we could not hear her! Also, the ambiance and decor has not changed in a at least 12 years since the last time we were there and it is a little cramped and quite dark. Fewer tables would perhaps help the noise. The main course was good but the salad was not! The lettuce tasted old and watery and there were only a couple of tomato halves with the lettuce and nothing else. My husband's osso bucco was delicious and well prepared but my Israeli veal was too cream heavy. For the money, it could be better! The waitress was very nice and even gave my husband and I some Frangelico at the end of our meal for free. The restaurant is in desperate need of change, some modernization and a menu revamp.
Great food, great service and just a great place to go!
We have been going to La Bistro since the late 80’s and it has only gotten better!! It never disappoints!!!
Fantastic little gem of a restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was great. I will definitely return. It seems a little out of place being in what I would call a "retail strip mall", however, once you are inside it doesn't feel like it at all. Even if it did, I would still visit since the food is that good.
Excellent service and ambience
We were visiting the area from Houston and enjoyed a very nice dinner with family members. Delicious food, nice ambiance and good service. Hope to return!
Excellent food & service. Would definitely recommend to friends. Never disappointed.
Blinds left open during daylight hours spoiled cozy atmosphere. Did not enjoy cooking steak myself at table (was not explained on menu). Very nice server but, overall unpleasant experience.
We have always enjoyed this restaurant for any special occasion. The food and ambiance are wonderful.
Sid the owner usually greets you & wonderful piano players for dinner. Try the HOT ROCKS !! We had group of eight for our anniversary & it was FABULOUS!! Thanks Sid & Sergio, our server...great job
Sincerely Leah M
Wouldn't expect such a great place in a shopping center. First walked in thought piano was a little loud (they seated us very close)...but after we settled in was not so bad. Helped set a fun classy mood. Next time I'll ask to be seated a little further away just because sometimes couldn't hear conversation. Food is phenomenal and wait staff superb. We will be back!
La Bistro never disappoints and the prices are very reasonable.
Only 8 patrons there at the time, so was very quiet. Excellent food & service. Will definitely go to La Bistro again.
Muy bueno. Nos atendio el dueno que es un Frances muy simpatico. Habia una persona tocando el piano muy bonito. La comida excelente y precios razonables.
I love La Bistro! The food and the ambiance are exceptional. Everything we tried was wonderful. I thought the Chicken Francais was outstanding!
This was our first visit to La Bistro. I love good Italian food, and wanted to try a new restaurant. My go-to Italian dish, and thus the test of flavors and quality, is veal. My veal entree was FANTASTIC. I had never had this combination of ingredients in a veal dish before. I don't remember the name of the dish, but the veal scallopine was combined with zucchini, prosciutto and a light cheese, plus sauce, of course. I would go back and order it again...and again! My husband ordered the Veal Jerusalem and said it was pretty good. Entrees come with a side of pasta and soup or salad. The bread was very, very buttered or oiled and garlicky--and plain white bread, at that, so we will pass on that next time. The side salad was pedestrian as well. The wine list was just varied and extensive enough (per glass), and reasonably-priced. The restaurant was a bit noisy the night we were there because there was a private party in half of the restaurant. We ordered their house specialty dessert to share, a date cake that also came with a light creamy sauce on top. The cake was warm, not too sweet and frankly, pretty perfect. We would also order that many times! We definitely recommend this place.
La Bistro is a fabulous local gem of a restaurant!
You wouldn’t expect a restaurant of this caliber to be located with in a strip mall.
My only disappointment? I didn’t find this restaurant sooner having lived in the area the past four years!
What a wonderful surprise. The food and service was amazing. We can’t wait to return.
We have been to La Bistro a number of times over the years and have always had good meals and service. The owner walked by and waved, but basically said nothing. This time the food was fine, but the service was non existent. We waited to be seated with very few people in the restaurant. The waiter left menus and after a long time filled our water glasses and brought bread. After additional time waiting he took our orders and the food was fine when it arrived, but when my wife asked me if we wanted more bread the waiter said "you have vegetables!" I'm not sure if he felt they were equivalent or just did not want to bother getting us any more bread. We felt it was the later. He never stopped by to see if our food was to our liking or to fill our empty water glasses. And I should have mentioned that he never asked if wanted anything else to drink such as a glass of wine. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, but if it was our first visit we would NEVER come back again!!!
Antonio provided great service and the food was top notch as always!
They are quickly becoming a favorite. If you go on Friday or Saturday , you will want to make a reservation. Those nights are also pretty noisy. They also have a piano player on Friday & Saturday evenings.
Whether you are in dressy clothing or blue Jeans , you will be comfortable.
The service is great. The food is great. They are the only place I know of that has steaks & seafood on the rocks. If you have never had this new way of cooking, try it, at least once... you will be hooked.
If you close your eyes as you eat, you’ll believe your in Italy (we’ve been to Italy many times and La Bistro is exactly as we remember the numerous restaurants we’ve eaten at). The owner greeted us at the door - he was very gracious. There was a fantastic piano player adding to the ambiance. We can’t wait to return.
Definitely not cheap, but the food is well worth it.
Really outstanding evening, I have zero complaints. Every dish was on point, small but nice wine list (Gaja!), there was a pianist playing an eclectic variety of tunes, very cozy ambiance. I will gladly go back again and again!
Had a great meal while catching with friends we had not seen in a while. Service was a perfect balance of attentiveness and leaving us alone. Food was great!
Guess maybe we were seated too close to the piano cause it was really loud. My ravioli had the texture and flavor of pie dough.
Saturday night, great food & wonderful live piano music, great atmosphere.
It was delicious... Friendly staff .... dessert beyond the scale
Great place for a date out. Food was fresh and prepared meticulously, presentation outstanding. Service was pretty good, overall ambiance was quaint and the music was spot on.
We NEVER have a bad meal here!! It is definitely our go to restaurant!! This is, by far, the best Italian restaurant in the area!
Excellent food, great ambience, and the owner was very nice as well.
It was a little warm in the building, but otherwise no complaints.
We love this place. Alyssa always takes great care of us. The food, service and family atmosphere is what keeps us coming. (and great dirty martinis)
The only disappointment was that I forgot to bring home my leftovers! I was devastated that I wasn't going to have pasta la bistro for lunch the next day. My fault and might have had something to do with the aforementioned martini. :-)
Excellent evening as always. Celebrating my oldest daughter’s birthday. Antonio took very good care of us!
The “on the Rocks” menu is outstanding! I can say the Filet on the Rocks was the tenderest filet I have had in a very long time. It literally melted in my mouth. Delicious!
Dining here for 20+ years. Always a great experience. Food is top notch....great Italian cuisine.
Great Italian food for a very reasonable price. Service was on point. Owner/manager was only greeting regular customers and ignoring us, new customers. No tables for two. Better suited for families than romantic dinner. It was our 20-year anniversary and I indicated that when making the reservation but mobody wished us a happy anniversary.
