La Bistro Italian Restaurant
La Bistro Italian Restaurant, in Hurst, serves fine Italian cuisine with passion and knowhow in its elegant and inviting eatery. For a delicious start to your meal, enjoy the mushroom caps stuffed with escargot and the cheese topped garlic bread. Homemade pastas, such as the meaty baked lasagna, the fettuccine primavera with spring veggies in a creamy sauce and the linguini matriciana with bacon and onions, are some of diners’ favorite meals. La Bistro Italian Restaurant’s house specialties include the chicken La Bistro with mushrooms and shallots in a brandy dill sauce, the veal Jerusalem sautéed with artichoke hearts and garlic and the filet mignon madeira in a luscious wine and mushroom sauce. The homemade cannoli, filled with sweet ricotta cheese and topped with chocolate sauce, makes the ideal dessert.
Be sure to visit La Bistro Italian Restaurant on the weekends to hear the resident piano player.
First time there, very impressed with the atmosphere made the total package awesome!
Great food, good service, reasonable prices though a little more noisey than we prefer.
Very good but seating is tight. My chair got bumped hard by staff and customers at least five times. Food was very good.
La Bistro has greatly improved with the new owner- and it was VERY good before!! Sal KNOWS what wine you want.. the food is always excellent! The service is always impeccable. Fine dining in the neighborhood!!
The food was all delicious, except for a salad that was mediocre (romaine was not usable at the time, however, because of a recall). The date cake dessert is worth a trip to the restaurant alone. The restaurant is a little darker than we would prefer.
My family gathered to celebrate my birthday. We have been dining at La Bistro for over 30 years and still enjoy it as our go to for special occasions.
Upscale family run restaurant in a local strip mall. Good selection, quality food, upscale presentation and service.
I had the Chilean Sea Bass on risotto - it was excellent. My bride had the Orange Roughy which also was very nice. Ambiance was great with a piano being played, and excellent service
Fantastic Italian cuisine. First time and will definitely return. Piano player was awesome. Great service too.
A great locally owned restaurant. Never a bad experience in the 30 years we've been going here. Classic Italian food. Personal service.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Big enough to accommodate my big family, huge plus!!
very good quality meal and excellent service, the lemon chello very good!
Sis and his Staff were excellent!
great food and the ambiance is excellent. let the piano player know your favorites, she will play them all.
My husband has the ribeye and shrimp “on the rocks” and stated numerous times it was the best steak he’s ever had.
The food was okay. I had veal scalipini it was tough. My friend had the shrimp pasta, shrimp was good, pasta and sauce not so much.
Participated in Restaurant Week. Fantastic food & service. Great neighborhood gem.
Our second visit to La Bistro in the last two (2) months and it was as memorable as the first. For this visit, we thoroughly enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu . Our dining experience was both memorable and first class. Our server (Paul) did a wonderful job of pointing out the different meal options and recommending some decadent wine to pair with our meal selections. I can promise that we will be back to visit Sid and Paul in the very near future.
The food was AMAZING!! We had the filet on the rocks, shrimp risotto & salmon. Nothing disappointed & the flavors were wonderful! Service was wonderful as well. Even the live piano playing added to the night without overpowering our conversation.
Food is good but there are better places for the price. Very dated restaurant with older customers. Owner was walking around and is nice in his own way but very gruff. I had the steak on the rocks. Really nothing special. My wife had shrimp risotto which was good. Overall, not great but a solid good in terms of food. Probably will not go back as there are many, many options for this price range with better food.
It was for a gentleman’s bday and they brought him out a piece of delicious date cake. Wonderful wines to choose from.
Food is amazing, the staff is very friendly. I love this place.
Great menu with so many options. Chicken Parm was very good. Very reasonably price. Nice local place with attention to detail. Piano player was a nice touch (but a bit loud). Haven’t been o a few years and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I have been enjoying La Bistro for years. Their food is quite good and their veal dishes are as good as anyplace I have been in my 29 years living in the DFW are. I can especially recommend their veal saltimbuco, Sinatra, or Marsala. Go there and enjoy!
My husband and I like La Bistro but unfortunately it is extremely noisy! So much so that the waitress could not hear us and we could not hear her! Also, the ambiance and decor has not changed in a at least 12 years since the last time we were there and it is a little cramped and quite dark. Fewer tables would perhaps help the noise. The main course was good but the salad was not! The lettuce tasted old and watery and there were only a couple of tomato halves with the lettuce and nothing else. My husband's osso bucco was delicious and well prepared but my Israeli veal was too cream heavy. For the money, it could be better! The waitress was very nice and even gave my husband and I some Frangelico at the end of our meal for free. The restaurant is in desperate need of change, some modernization and a menu revamp.
Great food, great service and just a great place to go!
We have been going to La Bistro since the late 80’s and it has only gotten better!! It never disappoints!!!
Fantastic little gem of a restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was great. I will definitely return. It seems a little out of place being in what I would call a "retail strip mall", however, once you are inside it doesn't feel like it at all. Even if it did, I would still visit since the food is that good.
Excellent service and ambience
We were visiting the area from Houston and enjoyed a very nice dinner with family members. Delicious food, nice ambiance and good service. Hope to return!
Excellent food & service. Would definitely recommend to friends. Never disappointed.
Blinds left open during daylight hours spoiled cozy atmosphere. Did not enjoy cooking steak myself at table (was not explained on menu). Very nice server but, overall unpleasant experience.
We have always enjoyed this restaurant for any special occasion. The food and ambiance are wonderful.
Sid the owner usually greets you & wonderful piano players for dinner. Try the HOT ROCKS !! We had group of eight for our anniversary & it was FABULOUS!! Thanks Sid & Sergio, our server...great job
Sincerely Leah M
Wouldn't expect such a great place in a shopping center. First walked in thought piano was a little loud (they seated us very close)...but after we settled in was not so bad. Helped set a fun classy mood. Next time I'll ask to be seated a little further away just because sometimes couldn't hear conversation. Food is phenomenal and wait staff superb. We will be back!
La Bistro never disappoints and the prices are very reasonable.
Only 8 patrons there at the time, so was very quiet. Excellent food & service. Will definitely go to La Bistro again.
Muy bueno. Nos atendio el dueno que es un Frances muy simpatico. Habia una persona tocando el piano muy bonito. La comida excelente y precios razonables.
I love La Bistro! The food and the ambiance are exceptional. Everything we tried was wonderful. I thought the Chicken Francais was outstanding!
This was our first visit to La Bistro. I love good Italian food, and wanted to try a new restaurant. My go-to Italian dish, and thus the test of flavors and quality, is veal. My veal entree was FANTASTIC. I had never had this combination of ingredients in a veal dish before. I don't remember the name of the dish, but the veal scallopine was combined with zucchini, prosciutto and a light cheese, plus sauce, of course. I would go back and order it again...and again! My husband ordered the Veal Jerusalem and said it was pretty good. Entrees come with a side of pasta and soup or salad. The bread was very, very buttered or oiled and garlicky--and plain white bread, at that, so we will pass on that next time. The side salad was pedestrian as well. The wine list was just varied and extensive enough (per glass), and reasonably-priced. The restaurant was a bit noisy the night we were there because there was a private party in half of the restaurant. We ordered their house specialty dessert to share, a date cake that also came with a light creamy sauce on top. The cake was warm, not too sweet and frankly, pretty perfect. We would also order that many times! We definitely recommend this place.
