We were not too thrilled with our waiter. He did not know much about the menu. Could not recommend dishes to try. We also noticed that he very solicitous of other tables but we did not receive the same service. The food itself was good but more Americanized French than other French restaurants in the area.

I went to La Belle Helene for my birthday celebration with a group of friends. I got the steak frites and it was excellent. The entire place was beautiful and the decorations for Christmas were very pretty. At the end of the meal, they surprised me with a dessert for my birthday. It was delicious and super sweet. Our waitress was very nice. The only minor issue was the noise level. It was just a little too loud because I couldn’t talk to most of my friends without yelling. Other than that, the experience was really great. 9/10 would recommend.

Our 3rd visit to La Belle Helene, and the best one by far! We each ordered off the pri fix menu as we only had an hour and a half before a performance at the Knight Theatre. The appetizers of deviled eggs (savory) and mussels (large & fresh) were fabulous with a special compliment to the sauce of the mussels for dipping your bread. The entrees of Duck & Leeks (crisp & fresh), and Boeuf Bourguignon (all ingredients distinctively flavorful & tender). Unfortunately I cannot fully review the desserts as we took them with us, but they were delicious the next day at home! 🏆🏆🏆

It was a lovely evening. What I most appreciated, was that we were not rushed, and service was focused on just that service, not flipping the table. Food and ambience were also great, but the greatest value was in the service and kindness.

Great dinner at La Belle! The mussels are always incredible...and the baguette that comes with it..I could eat 12! Beef bourginon and pommes puree are our go to main course options and it hit the spot!! The service was great and the christmas decor is stunning

We had a wonderful dinner. The food was great. The new 3 course menu is a great value and I hope the restaurant keeps it. Only downside was the table was really close to another one and the noise was a little loud.

Food is delicious. Desserts were fabulous! Atmosphere was perfect. Beautifully designed with nice lighting. Refreshing change to many restaurants. Beef Bourguignon was a star dish. Pomme purée was perfect.

I was really hoping for a magical experience with my daughter prior to going to a show at Knight Theatre. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the service was terrible. It took 20 min to get drinks and to place our order. We got a basket of pastries, French onion soup, and deviled eggs. After being there an hour our food came out minus the French onion soup which was my meal. The waitress said she couldn’t remember if I ordered fries or soup so she brought out the fries. So, while still waiting for my soup I brought up the service to the manager who was extremely nice and apologetic. Unfortunately I only had about 5 min to try my soup before we had to leave. The whole dining experience took and hour and a half and I only got 5 bites of soup. They also were not busy at all only 1/8 of the tables had people at them. I was happy that they had the option to give the kitchen staff a tip because they definitely earned it.

Porchetta was clearly reheated and terribly dry. Did not have the foie Gras. Steak Tartar was an inexpensive and very fatty and not tender. Hangar steak was raw, not medium rare. Tenderloins were 3oz for $49. Brioche toast points were very chewy and soft like several day old bread. Guessing this was all left overs from before Thanksgiving. For these prices and reputation there should never be these problems.

We had an inconsistent experience re: food and service. Firstly, we had a 5:45 reservation but didn’t get seated until 6:25. They were running very behind. Secondly, we had the three course prix fixe menu. Half the food was good, half the food was okay. The worst part was our medium rare filet was completely raw/rare in the middle. My husband told our server, who said that’s medium rare. Steak 48 would vehemently disagree!! The manager came by and agreed it was very raw, and said a new steak was on the way. The second filet came 1 min later, again…RAW. We chose not to say anything and chose not to eat it. They noticed, and the manager saw it was still raw. They offered to bring another one out but we politely declined. They did the right thing and removed it from the bill. They also got our order wrong twice (wrong bread services wrong dessert). It wasn’t a complete disaster…we enjoyed half the food. This was our first time dining there, and sadly we will not return due to the inconsistencies with both food and service.

Lovely, elegant restaurant, great for special occasions. Service was excellent. Thanksgiving dinner was good. Usual items, green beans, stuffing, turkey & gravy. Dessert was wonderful and bottle of wine we ordered (white burgundy) was excellent with our meal. Highly recommend.

I love classic French cuisine and La Belle Helene delivered with beautiful paté appetizer, delicate croissants and a show-stopping dessert. Also loved the variety of interesting drinks at the bar. Even as the restaurant filled, we were able to have nice conversation thanks to spacious spacing of the tables. A perfect Thanksgiving for my family. I would love to go again!

First time at La Belle. I enjoyed the experience overall. The waiter was very warm and friendly and to me that is almost as important as the quality of the food and the price. The food was just meh for me. I didn't care for having to sit so close to complete strangers. The price of the food was very overpriced. Overall good experience not sure if I would go back. I am glad to have had the experience though. Service was excellent!

Overall very good meal. Good service and table available at our reservation time. Just wish they had Valet parking. Only food issue was the escargot. The snails were excellent but the 'puff pastry' definetly not puff pastry, my wife had difficulty even cutting it with her knife, hard and dry.

Make sure to ask if they have valet before you go. We were a few minutes late because we had to find a place to park. We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We were seated on an aisle and it was very noisy. We received our appetizer 10 minutes before our waitress took our entree menu. We ordered wine and received the glasses for a good bit before the wine. My lobster was overcooked. We had to ask if we could order dessert. After paying I spoke to the manager and she acted defensive and not at all helpful. Overall a rough experience and we will not return. The dress was very casual for the price of the menu and there are no tablecloths, just brown paper on the tables.
