    We had a wonderful dinner. The food was great. The new 3 course menu is a great value and I hope the restaurant keeps it. Only downside was the table was really close to another one and the noise was a little loud.

    Food is delicious. Desserts were fabulous! Atmosphere was perfect. Beautifully designed with nice lighting. Refreshing change to many restaurants. Beef Bourguignon was a star dish. Pomme purée was perfect.

    I was really hoping for a magical experience with my daughter prior to going to a show at Knight Theatre. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the service was terrible. It took 20 min to get drinks and to place our order. We got a basket of pastries, French onion soup, and deviled eggs. After being there an hour our food came out minus the French onion soup which was my meal. The waitress said she couldn’t remember if I ordered fries or soup so she brought out the fries. So, while still waiting for my soup I brought up the service to the manager who was extremely nice and apologetic. Unfortunately I only had about 5 min to try my soup before we had to leave. The whole dining experience took and hour and a half and I only got 5 bites of soup. They also were not busy at all only 1/8 of the tables had people at them. I was happy that they had the option to give the kitchen staff a tip because they definitely earned it.

    Porchetta was clearly reheated and terribly dry. Did not have the foie Gras. Steak Tartar was an inexpensive and very fatty and not tender. Hangar steak was raw, not medium rare. Tenderloins were 3oz for $49. Brioche toast points were very chewy and soft like several day old bread. Guessing this was all left overs from before Thanksgiving. For these prices and reputation there should never be these problems.

    Thanksgiving dinner for the 2nd year in a row, dokie not disappoint. I guess others have heard about it because it was crowded and our reservation was pushed back 30 mins before being seated. But all was good.

    We had an inconsistent experience re: food and service. Firstly, we had a 5:45 reservation but didn’t get seated until 6:25. They were running very behind. Secondly, we had the three course prix fixe menu. Half the food was good, half the food was okay. The worst part was our medium rare filet was completely raw/rare in the middle. My husband told our server, who said that’s medium rare. Steak 48 would vehemently disagree!! The manager came by and agreed it was very raw, and said a new steak was on the way. The second filet came 1 min later, again…RAW. We chose not to say anything and chose not to eat it. They noticed, and the manager saw it was still raw. They offered to bring another one out but we politely declined. They did the right thing and removed it from the bill. They also got our order wrong twice (wrong bread services wrong dessert). It wasn’t a complete disaster…we enjoyed half the food. This was our first time dining there, and sadly we will not return due to the inconsistencies with both food and service.

    Lovely, elegant restaurant, great for special occasions. Service was excellent. Thanksgiving dinner was good. Usual items, green beans, stuffing, turkey & gravy. Dessert was wonderful and bottle of wine we ordered (white burgundy) was excellent with our meal. Highly recommend.

    I love classic French cuisine and La Belle Helene delivered with beautiful paté appetizer, delicate croissants and a show-stopping dessert. Also loved the variety of interesting drinks at the bar. Even as the restaurant filled, we were able to have nice conversation thanks to spacious spacing of the tables. A perfect Thanksgiving for my family. I would love to go again!

    First time at La Belle. I enjoyed the experience overall. The waiter was very warm and friendly and to me that is almost as important as the quality of the food and the price. The food was just meh for me. I didn't care for having to sit so close to complete strangers. The price of the food was very overpriced. Overall good experience not sure if I would go back. I am glad to have had the experience though. Service was excellent!

    Overall very good meal. Good service and table available at our reservation time. Just wish they had Valet parking. Only food issue was the escargot. The snails were excellent but the 'puff pastry' definetly not puff pastry, my wife had difficulty even cutting it with her knife, hard and dry.

    Make sure to ask if they have valet before you go. We were a few minutes late because we had to find a place to park. We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We were seated on an aisle and it was very noisy. We received our appetizer 10 minutes before our waitress took our entree menu. We ordered wine and received the glasses for a good bit before the wine. My lobster was overcooked. We had to ask if we could order dessert. After paying I spoke to the manager and she acted defensive and not at all helpful. Overall a rough experience and we will not return. The dress was very casual for the price of the menu and there are no tablecloths, just brown paper on the tables.

    La Belle Helene was a special treat - wonderful food, beautifully presented, and generous servings, gracious and attentive staff, all in a lovely setting. I would go again in an instant!! and will recommend it to everyone I know.

    Unfortunately service was very slow. The waiter never apologized for the delay in delivering our drinks or food in a timely manner. He didn’t check back to make sure we were satisfied with our meal or if we needed anything else. We have been here many times. Most of the time it’s great this time was disappointing

    We were disappointed with our table seating for dinner. We had an early reservation (which we made 2 months ago) and the restaurant was empty, but yet we were given a 4 top next to the front door. When we asked to be reseated, the hostess told us they were "fully committed" and then reluctantly moved us to a better table. Our table staff was great and the food was tasty but the dishes are more American than French and not necessarily as described. The Frisee Salad did not have any frisee but instead was just mixed greens. The Beef Bourguignon was very light and did not have much beef. They did not have all the ingredients for one of their 'signature cocktails.' It was a mediocre dining experience.

    Don’t pass on the incredible pastries! We got the petite Boulanger and it was worth every calorie. The bacon & leek quiche was superb and my husband loved his fromage omelette. Coffee & tea were also delicious. They bring you mini Madelines with your beverages. Warm. Will absolutely be back. Hosts were lovely people, our server was fine.

    Our waiter was AMAZING! So knowledgeable of the entire menu and he gave us additional desserts to try since we were celebrating my birthday. We had our own private room to eat and the ambiance was beautiful! I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and will most definitely be back soon!

    Beautiful french bistro downtown Charlotte. The tomato soup and mini grilled cheese was delicious. The burger and fries, outstanding. The roast turkey sandwich was very good also. The salad was a little limp and bland for my taste, but otherwise everything was very good. Would definitely go back.
