La Bella Italia
We go to La Bella Italia on regular basis, and never were disappointed. As always, the food was delicious. . Four of us had “octopus salad”, “lobster ravioli” “mushroom ravioli”, “meat lasagna” , “pasta with meatballs”. Also, we found the space for “carrot cake” and “coconut cake” – so very good! Our service with Mira was smooth and professional.
Best Italian in Virginia Beach. Outstanding desserts and drinks. Vegitarian menu for those who eat plant based.
The recommendation would be given with the notation that it’s not the same restaurant that it was last year. The menu has been whittled down quite a bit. Several items that I liked are no longer available. I like the renovations to the restaurant.
At the last minute on Mother's Day . . . we added to the amazingly busy evening at La Bella Italia on Laskin Road. But everyone there was pleasant and professional - especially our server (Yulia). The food came out fresh and hot and we had a lovely evening.
Under all that pressure, La Bella Italia was terrific - and Yulia never stopped smiling and serving.
A group of friends gathered to celebrate a birthday. It couldn't have been more perfect. We were seated in a room in the back of the restaurant so that we could enjoy each others company without disturbing others. Mira was our waitress...she was there without being in your face. She couldn't have been more pleasant. Without exception everyone said they would be back...the food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfection, and the staff was over the top. If you like Italian food - give it a try. We will be back for sure.
For the food it was not good you have to find another cook
It was a totally outstanding experience. The food was exceptional and service was outstanding! We will definitely returning to this exceptional restaurant and recommend that our friends return as well. The new owners have put new life into this and we strongly feel that it's already one of the premiere restaurants in Virginia Beach!!
Always enjoy our experience at LaBella Italia! Tiffany, our waitress was superb! Food outstanding! Will definitely go back for more!
We were there for the Shamrock marathon and wanted to have pasta before the big race. Food was great and ambience perfect
Place was packed Service was slow. Ceasar Salad came with pickled onions. Veal Marsalawas tooooo salty and you had to ordered pasta as a side dish Osso Buco hadn’t been cooked long enough so it was tough
We made a reservation online in advance. The restaurant was very busy and noisy. Our server Tiffany was excellent and attentive. Took a little bit longer than expected to get our drinks and place our order. Otherwise the service was excellent and the food outstanding.
Food wasn’t worth the money. Calamari was too greasy, the seafood was really fishy and I got a small portion
Go on a Wednesday when Lewis McGehee plays guitar and carafes of wine are half price. Awesome!
First of all . . . order the Margherita Pizza as an appetizer! A thin crust pizza homemade sauce, cheese and basil cooked in a wood-fired oven . . . and absolutely delicious. Go between 5 and 6:30pm and it's half price in the bar.
I had the Bronzino which they had deboned. It was perfectly cooked, flakey, moist and mouth watering good. One of my guests had the Chicken Parmigiana which she said was "To die For". The other had the Snapper special which she described as some of the best fish, ever.
We will absolutely return and maybe even drop by early sometimes for the Pizza special.
I highly recommend La Bella Italia as one of the top restaurants in Virginia Beach.
Enjoyed a lovely dinner during restaurant week on a busy weekend. Service was top notched and timely. The ambiance is homey and warm.We were seated at a perfect table. Given fresh bread. I ordered the whole grilled fish which was good but maybe not a great choice for an Italian restaurant. It came served with a mix green salad. I ordered the citrus salad that did not have any oranges nor a citrus dressing. A little disappointed. My guest ordered the chicken piccata that was hot but not too appetizing. We finished our meal with Tiramisu, the best part of the meal. Over all, maybe a great choice for traditional Italian food for takeout or dessert.
First timer there - was for rest. week. Had food from specialized menu but also the regular. Excellent food as well as service. Would definitely go back
We have consistently liked La Bella Italia and this was our first visit under their new ownership. The food quality was very good and the server was attentive though not as much so as a traditional high service Italian restaurant. The Octopus was a bit overpriced considering the amount served, but was excellent. Both of our entrees (Frutti Di Mare and Chicken Parm) were very well done and the desert Key Lime Tart was exceptional (and I have sampled Key Lime deserts all around the country and am somewhat of an “expert”😜). I think the prices could be dialed down by 10% but the food was top notch.
Good service. The food was good, but not as good as Il Giardino.
We were seated very near the restrooms even with a reservation. The bread was burned. Our appetizer and meals were fantastic. Our server was adequate; my drink was never empty. I don’t think I would ever go back for Valentine’s Day but it’s probably a great place any other day of the year.
To be fair it was Valentines day so the serice was extremely slow, as the restaurant was packed. Over all however, this restaurant was much better under previous owners. Salads were good, but my husband's lasagna, which should be an easy win here, was according to him, the worst he has ever had. My chicken piccata was fine, but certainly not remarkable. It was apparent that the dining rooms were understaffed but that is of little conosequence to diners who are still paying good money to eat here. It is unfortunate that the new management has not continued to maintain the amazing quality of the previous owners. There is plenty of room for improvement.
We go to La Bella Italia very frequently and never disappointed! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food and service!
Great Italian food. Very good service. Knowledgeable waitstaff. Saw a couple large groups that were being waited on very well.
I am of Italian heritage so I’ve been exposed to many different dishes prepared many different ways. Tonight I enjoyed the rigatoni bolognese which was in one word “amazing”. Then I tried the Margherita pizza. Soo good.
Evening specials for every palate. ❤️
Our server was excellent::)) Was a little surprised as only had calamari as an appetizer and was charged the same price as the appetizer listed on the menu which came with several other items.
Our dinners were delicious and the service was outstanding! Lewis McGehee on the guitar was the highlight of our evening. His playing was by far the best we've ever seen and his vocals were perfect!
Food was delicious and portion size was great
Server was attentive and patient with our group
Had to ask for extra bread, it should have been offered.
Host and chef visited all the tables except two. One was my table and were one one similarity. BOTH TABLES HAD MINORITIES!!!!
Probably won’t be going back to this restaurant
It was to have the night we were there. Service was decent but the ambience was very good. The food was average and not spectacular and the menu is different fton the website which discouraged us. For example we always want to caprese salad At an Italian restaurant but this wasn’t on the menu!!!
The food was delicious, and it was a nice treat to be visited by the chef during the evening. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was very accommodating, and others on the team stopped by to greet us and help as well. We highly recommend La Bella Italia!
Our favorite place for Italian in Virginia Beach. The food is always excellent and a great atmosphere.
We had dinner there for the first time and were very happy with the food and ambiance. We will definitely return!
We were ignored when we entered--but then things got better. Excellent food and service. Felt a little like being in Italy. Good value for the money. We will return.
We went to La Bella Italia to celebrate my birthday. Food was excellent! I'm Italian, and our dinner was the most authentic Italian food I had in Virginia Beach.
The chef came personally to our table with suggestions on and off menu. While all the staff speaks English, they are authentic Italians, and I loved being able to speak Italian with them. The chef and the owner also checked on us more than once during our dinner.
Our waiter (Mirko), was very friendly, respectful, and did an outstanding job!
We had the best evening. The staff was so friendly and efficient. This made it more fun for our group because we were able to feel right at home. The food was out of this world. All 4 of us ordered different entrees and they were all outstanding. The flavor of my veal dish might be the best I have ever tasted and my husband agreed. He had fish and ate every bite! We will return often‼️👏👌
Disappointed. Had eaten there one month previously and didn’t enjoy this recent meal. Chicken parmigiana was tough and pasta incurred extra charge. Wanted chicken Marsala but opted for former choice as Marsala chicken was not served boneless and have always had chicken Marsala with boneless chicken. Only positive was the caprese salad which was fresh and ample portion.
Bella Italia has always had the atmosphere for intimate dates. The lighting, seating, tablecloths, and service have always been perfect for this. This is the spot for a bottle of red, good food, and intimate conversations with your significant other.
Oh Bella, you never should have modified the entrance. When the entrance was semi-concealed behind the deli, it was reminiscent of an exclusive restaurant that only you knew about. Now that it's opened up, it just feels like every other restaurant out there. Despite that loss of the veneer of exclusivity or mystery, my first paragraph holds true.
We made a reservation for 7:30 pm and were put at a high top table because no tables were available. So why did we make a reservation again??? Food was good though
The atmosphere was awsome you really feel like your in Italy. The service was even better. They really made you feel welcome and that the food was to your liking. Yes the food was delicious cooked perfect and not to expansive. Will be going again.
Much better last year menu had less options this year. Food was ok. For a few dollars more I could have eaten at Aldos and enjoyed it more.
Very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. From start to finish our waiter was attentive but not to the point of obtrusive. Our group of four ordered different pasta dishes and a veal Parmesan. Of all the dishes the veal parm was the best. The two pasta dishes I tried, the sauce made the dish. The pasta tasted as if the salt was left out of the water.
A culinary gem on Laskin Rd. A taste of Rome without leaving Virginia.
