See you at La Barra!
Great service, very good food, and will be going there again soon. Bring your friends. Monday specials are an awesome value.
I didn’t like being out in the family room when there were open tables In the main room when we arrived. We were only a party of five, which was small enough to be in the main room. The canned music was not turned off in the family room when the live music started, and hearing both was irritating.
Some in our group ordered the deep dish— they liked the crust at the Labriola off of Michigan Ave. better. This one was burnt. But my Chicken Parm was amazing. And my wife enjoyed her Chicken Alfredo. The service was great, too.
Prosciutto wrapped chicken w Labriola 🍟 and Mountain Dew.
We came on your special day for members. All was perfect except for the salmon that was cooked well done. I prefer mine medium which is how it’s always been prepared in the past. I did not tell my sever because La Barra was nice enough to give us a huge discount that day already. So, I just went ahead and ate it. Next time I’ll be sure to mention medium. The salmon was very dry. Risotto was excellent. I made that my gravy. ☺️ Appetizers and pasta was excellent and so was our server.
Brought new client in for lunch, prosciutto wrapped chicken is always a hit.
The food is excellent. It's priced as a 'sometimes' restaurant as of right now and I wish it were more economical so our family could visit more often.
Pizza is great. We were pleasantly surprised by the half price apps during happy hour.
Very slow evening, had the Prosciutto wrapped chicken w fries. Will went beyond the call of duty and made it a great visit.
Got there at 6pm on New Years Day. Only 2 other tables were occupied in the dining room. Waiter was initially attentive. When more customers arrived, service went bad. We got our salad then waited a long time for thin pizza. When asked waiter what is taking so long, reply was understaffed, didn't expect it to be busy. After 60 minutes after our order, our arugula mushroom pizza arrived. All waiter said was sorry. Manager never came to apologize. Felt as if no one cared about the service, as if that was normal. Food was good, but not worth the long wait.
What a great place ! Very nice atmosphere !
But you must try the pizzas ... simply one of the best in Chicago . The burnt edges with cheese is addicting!
The thick crust baratta and basil pizza , wow!
New Years eve
Food was delicious, our server forgot to order our salad and then did so but it put us behind schedule so we had to take our pizza entree to go
Lemon Drop 🍸/Chicken Florencio /Mountain Dew and Tiramisu is the winning combination. Great evening- thanks Katrina
It was my sister’s bday. We happened to come during happy hour and didn’t even know it until after we ordered 4 appetizers and 2 large pizzas. All was excellent for less than we were expecting. Had a great time. Great food and service too!
This was our first time at La Barra and we absolutely loved it. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic as well. We definitely will be back soon (and often!).
Pleasant service. Good food.
Service was great. Food was delicious.
The restaurant was just ok. Was served a glass of wine in a filthy glass. They were kind enough to replace. Waiter was nice and accommodating. Ambiance not special and food was average. Price a bit higher than expected for the food and ambience. It reminded me of the old TJIF restaurants.
It couldn't any worse , it started out with asking about the very loud Rock music, ordered the pan pizza as soon as we sat down because of the time it takes to get ( 30-40 minutes) and the restaurant wasn't busy. So after asking were are pizza was after near 1 Hour a manager comes out with our pizza only too day that it was burned a little around the sides and asknof we didn't want it they would make another one! Thats when I said are you kidding I'm starving now after waiting an hour, we actually tried to eat some of the pizza while they a thin pizza because we weren't going to wait that long , we found that the pizza was also burnt bad on the bottom that we couldn't even eat a little till the other pizza came. We left with the pizza to go home because we have a dog and had to feed her. The final bad news was the pizza they gave to take home Was Also Burnt. Just Ridiculous **
The Golden beet salad is delicious as is the broiled calamari
More casual then I expected, Ricotta Gnocchi and baked manicotti were excellent. Can't wait to try the pizza next time
Joseph was a very attentive waiter and made our dining experience feel very warm and comfortable.
Food not very good. We were very Disappointed. Will not return.
The eight finger cavetelli is delicious. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the service needs to improve. They are slow to greet you when you sit down.
This was our second visit to the restaurant Great Food but the service was disappointing
The staff was great, they did an awesome job helping me celebrate my fiancés bday.
This was my third time going to this restaurant and to be fair the 2x before were great, but this time they gave my reservation away more to the point they overbooked their restaurant and waited until 15 mins before my reservation to call and inform me that I could not dine there. They then sent me to another restaurant with terrible food. I traveled a hour to get to la barra because I liked them. I will notgo there again or recommend them. Poor poor service.
Overall good food& service. Didn’t realize until after we left, they charged us for a higher priced mixed drink instead of a glass of wine.
Food was outstanding, Service provided by Sam was really great. We’ll be back
Normally i would rate higher. I think some of the servers or bus boys weren’t attentive as they need to be and have been in the past.
Great food and Awesome service!!!
Recently moved downtown and La Barra is always top on our list to visit when we are back in the area! Love sharing an appetizer, salad and pizza!
Great food great wine live band too loud. We will return.
The food was excellent. Great value, will definitely be going back.
Order 2 pan pizzas, both came burnt, the sausage toppings on our pizza was burnt as well as the side of the pizza. The other pizza was burnt on the bottom. Our server Joseph was too busy accommodating other tables to even come by to refill our water. We told him we were celebrating a birthday which he completely forgot about and brought our bills. And our bills were all wrong too. The place was very warm too and loud. Don't think we'll go back at all.
Introduced another business associate to the infamous LB; great 🐔parm as always...
Nice place to get together with friends. Great appetizers.
Prosciutto wrapped chicken 🐔 under the radar but fantastic.
We’ve eaten at La Barra 8-10 times now and while the food has always been very good the same cant be said about their service. On this occasion we waited 10 minutes beyond our Open Table reservation time, while there were several available tables. We had to ask for bread (not sure what policy is but). We ordered a salad which never came and then were served what appeared to be a child’s portion of Spaghetti & meatballs, for $19.
Suppose to be better deep dish pizza in area. Toppings were good, but crust mushy and not cooked through. Stick with the specialty pizzas. Good wine choices from Italy - why go to Italian themed restaurant and have California wine?! Wait staff very attentive. Kitchen very slow. Don't need to go back.
